tbh i think aron was very immature back then. he’s said other ignorant things around that time that got him in some trouble. however, i do think he’s has grown. he has a podcast now with another former idol and mingi was a guest. i think it’s worth noting mingi guested after their disbandment, so if aron was still the same as back then, it’s not like ren would have any obligation to show up on his youtube channel aron also mentioned he was drinking heavily a lot in those days because of the general stress of the environment. i’m not saying this as an excuse for any behaviour though or in this situation in particular my only guess is that some people would find it easier to do this kind of thing because they don’t understand the gravity of being lgbtq+ in SK, in general, and 7 years ago i do wonder what prompted everything that happened though

sounds like cocosori but tbh a lot of ex-idols or ex-trainees say the same thing and tell us what we already know. that lgbtq+ exists within kpop but not many know straight away unless the person is upfront about it. the same way there are groupchats with idols of the same year, there could be lgbtq+ ones too. there’s always a friend of a friend in kpop which makes everyone crazily connected and work in the same circles

i am not surprised, considering most contestants backgrounds are paths that benefit from exposure. yes, the owner of the channel is namgyu. he is gay himself. he does streaming but the highlights and everything else (majority) is uploaded and subbed in english. i find a lot of his content interesting and entertaining. most of his guests are lgbtq+ too. only sometimes they're het but it usually says it in the title when that's the case. he also has phone calls sometimes with viewers and sometimes drinking games. these are some of the ones that cross-over into kpop-related topics like same-sex dating in the industry, if that interests you.
