I’m curious as of why everyone in Youtube says Lia has good support. She sound’s rather shallow everywhere but some of them say she has full moments.

Thoughts on NingNing’s C5’s here? and was the C#5 in Saving All My Love For you alright? I think there’s some supported G3/G#3’s here as well. Sorry for the spam!
-
If NingNing does in fact have G3/G#3-Bb4/B4 would you say she’s stronger than Sunny and Tiffany?
-
Seems like NingNing supports down to G#3 yay! I personally hear around 3 G#3’s and all of em sounded supported so she may have consistency with it
-
I’ve seen her support it a couple times when her mix is less problematic. somewhere around 0:34 there’s some support from her B4’s I think 0:42 didnt sound bad imo 1:12 I think her Clown cover had some as well I don’t remember too much. Please correct me if i made any mistakes!
-
Seulgi and her inconsistent B4’s are crying
-
Edit : Nvm i got it!

Winter’s (Bb4?) at 2:00 sounded very nice and NingNing’s B4’s throughout were good as well. Though are Winter’s B4’s here a bit more closed and tense? please cmiiw
-
Thoughts on Olivia Rodrigo? There’s a slide at 1:01 and she seem to be able to support A4 but is the B4 a bit too tense?
-
Thoughts on Jihan from Weekly? I think she has some decent support upto A4 @0:24 And is this B4 pushed or was it alright? @2:38

The vocal line for Cube’s upcoming group. Girl on the right seems to have some support yes?
-
Um about this wouldn’t Aespa’s rappers be technically stonger vocalists than most of the dreamies as well lol? Karina seems to be the one closest to proper support imo please cmiiw

Question. About Taeyeon and Wendy I mean Wendy seems to have a stronger sense of support in her midrange but Taeyeon is more advanced in terms of placement so it gives her the edge. It makes me wonder if say a vocalist has shallow support (the more solid kind at least) can they be stronger than someone who’s not necessarily shallow in support because they have other stronger aspects? or still there’s a difference because obviously shallow support isnt considered as much?
-
Oh sorry I just thought it was an irrelevant thing to say in the thread lol

Kei’s C#5 sounds pushed imo Oh and to the people from the vietnamese site lurking here um I don’t know what to tell you but I’m not Rookie1o1...... idk how that idea even happened

Was the F4 by Jaehyun at 2:53 supported? or is it just very well placed lol
-
Do you know to which extent? Bb4?
-
His Eb4’s were always nice but it still lacked more consistency from what I remember. Closed Eb4 at 0:26 other perfs also not much better. Haven’t keep up with more recent Eb4’s from him though.
-
Yeah it’s because the shallow concept is so loose it gets pretty subjective and confusing haha. All I can say is personally I think Haechan has the most “depth” or ground upto D4/Eb4. The Eb4’s at 0:30 and 0:34 sounded decent and the buildup after that (Bb3-C4-C#4-Eb4?) was decent as well. The F4 at 0:40 sounded more pushed to me, same thing with the F4 at 1:00 but the Eb4 after that was nice. There are indeed solid F4’s in studio/prerecorded so idk lol.
-
Renjun has some pushed D4’s throughout his Fools cover if I remember correctly. Might be a stylistic choice ig? idk. Haechan showed some support upto F4 but from what I’ve seen of his live singing heseems to only have decent shallow support upto D4/Eb4 consistently? above that he’s too thin most of the time but well I might’ve miss some perfs and it’s a loose term anyways. Um I’d like to ask some questions as well if that’s alright hehe 1.) Did NingNing have any support predebut? I’m aware she has some in her lower register but did she support her mixed register? 2.) So Giselle (so far) seems to have a degree of support upto G4. Ten (NCT) from what I know doesn’t really support at all (cmiiw) but I find his overall sense of intonation and mixing to be a more complex skillset than just supporting upto G4 lol. Giselle also seems to have minor issues with intonation (doesn’t sound as precise as the other girls in Forever) and her Bb4 didn’t really have a good mix. In that scenario is it like... ok to say Ten is the stronger vocalist..? I don’t know to which extent weak support has value haha 3.) And is J from StayC a mezzo? Sumin might be one too? thankyou

From Youtube I heard people going around saying Jeongyeon is this very solid average vocalist and that her support is stronger than the likes of Yuri and Seulgi which I personally don’t agree that much. I’m gonna say something about Jeongyeon though I may not have the most proper terms to describe it so please bear with me. I feel like overall Jeongyeon’s support is not shallow but her overall approach isn’t really that great either? I feel like she just throws out her support on notes instead of properly conserving it throughout her singing...? kinda reminds me of Denise a bit. It’s like she doesn’t try to keep a more steady airflow iykwim and just pushes the notes out like sure the result is sometimes good support but it’s not exactly effective either and it tends to effect her consistency and is probably the reason why she can’t keep a good legato line. And again I hope I make sense lol. Oh and who’s stronger between Jeongyeon and Winter? I leaned on with Winter but my friend said something like Jeong still has a better lower range, better breath support and so far better placement upto C5/C#5.

I am so sorry I love them with all my heart and After School SLAPS but for the love of god can Weekly stop harmonizing they sound so messy
-
Harry Styles is actually a tenor too right? Nevermind me sorry apparently it has been talked about before
-
Any thoughts on Key from Shinee? He’s rarely talked about does he not support? I mean his D4’s doesn’t sound too bad I guess @1:34 @ 1:40 a more solid one at 1:46
