The "for the amount of work had done" was more about how people judge the dreamies differently than any other nct subunit in the context of plastic surgery. Like when the question "which nct member has had plastic surgery" is asked many people would reply with Yuta, Taeil, Ten, etc.. But rarely does anyone mention Jaemin (when imo, he has the same amount of plastic surgery, if not more than, for example, ten). SM really is trying their hardest to make people forget that Jaemin has tan skin. Every single video of him is incredibly filtered. Watching him in the sm rookies video compared to any video now is shocking. If i was a new viewer, i would probably assume he had pale skin. I think the "completely unrecognizable" thing is definitely subjective. I used to be obsessed with nct during their rookie days (2015-2016) but in the past few years i haven't been keeping up with them. so i was surprised when i saw Jaemin in MAW, he looks so different compared to chewing gum and MFAL (of course, growing up and styling changes could contribute to him looking different). It's why I also thought Yuta and Doyoung looks different compared to what I was familiar with.

I think the chin thing might be a chin wing implant. Kinda similar to what Ariana grande had done. Honestly, for the amount of surgery he had done, he still looks pretty good. I like that SM has not touch his eyelids as they are a bit asymmetrical ( his left eyelids crease is higher than his right ). The skin filtering/bleaching is quite subtle, I barely remembered that his original skin color is tan.

Lmao when I first got into Kpop I also thought they looked similar. But after becoming more familiar, I would say there are alot of differences between them. Although I definitely agree that Jaemin's facial structure has been looking suspiciously like Cha eunwoo's nowadays. The first thing that I've notice is that all three of them have a very similar jawline. Which is not much considering it's a very popular shape ( v shape ). Nowadays, Jaehyun's chin has been looking pointier than it used to be. Cha Eunwoo's face is more structured and full (high cheekbones, high nose bridge), while jaehyun has broader and "sharper" features ( longer face, "flat" nose bridge, flat ass).

I won't be surprised if he looks completely different in the new comeback. SM seems to have a problem with his face for some reason. They keep trying to change his face to fit their visual mold. I swear, his nose keeps getting smaller every single comeback since BOOM. I hope they won't try any jaw shaving with him, his jaw already looks really suspicious in MAW.

If it's not just weird makeup shadowing then I definitely think It is lip fillers. In this video by Lorry Hill, she explains the different types of fillers and its characteristics. I believe he had some type of water-loving filler like Juvederm which would often travel around and subsequently create that shadow above his lips. She talks about fillers around the 1:35 minute mark. Also off topic, but Ten's jaw in that photo looks really smooth ( He's the only person I've ever seen who has a natural jaw like that. It seems like mother nature got to him first before SM did ).

Okay guys I found a better photo where his alarplasty scar is more visible. His reddish/brown makeup makes him look like he was crying before taking this pic ngl. slightly off-topic, but does his left eyelid ( our right ) looks suddenly higher? I thought he never touched his eyelids but I'll look more into it. In the last two photos, you can undeniably see two scars along each of his nostrils where they connect to the base. When i first saw this picture, i was kinda confused because we've established through another similar picture with visible scars that he had it done around mid-late 2018 but this photo is fairly recent and the scar looks new. I guess scars technically never really go away but it looks so much more evident now than it was in 2018 ( and shouldn't that be the other way around )? Either (1) he had a second nose job during the almost year long break before neo-zone, or (2) he didn't apply any base makeup in this photo which would be a bit strange imo because he is wearing everything else (eyeshadow, lipstick, etc.). Jaehyun is also known for saying he doesn't use filters but this picture definitely looks a bit smoothed out. ( Important to note that in the chinese subtitles it says specifically that he does not use any "whitening/brightening" filter but that doesn't mean that he doesn't use any other type of skin smoothing or blurring filter ). I guess I just wonder why the makeup artist didn't cover the scars up or why he didn't conceal them with a filter? Maybe he just doesn't care lmao

Yes!!! Jay from Enhypen also has this type of jaw. His jawline is really sharp and the mandible angle is really prominent. His face is the most recognizable to me out of all the members due to his strong facial structure. And i know this type of jaw is not very desirable among idols but i think it looks great on him. He only had his nose done ( to make it more sharper ) which really suits his natural features. ( honestly, getting a nose job to fit a sharper face is way better than getting a jaw shave to fit a softer face imo ). I notice a lot of newer male idols are showing off their natural jaw. Maybe the jaw shave trend is starting to go away (at least for male idols)?? I'm honestly curious as to what the SM jaw shave gang would look like with their natural jaw now. I'm pretty sure all of them had it done before they were even 18.

Ikr.. she has one of the harshest eyelid crease I've ever seen. They are also strangely high up on her face. ^I know this pic is blurry but notice how her eyelid crease is not as deep as it is in the first photo (she is kinda doing the same pose here). Her nose tip also seems to be lifted. I'd say overall, Fromis9 has a really good surgeon.

I think her nose has also changed. The middle part of her nose seems more pinched and lifted. Overall her nose also seems higher. Although I'm not too sure about this. I think it could be occasional fillers instead of a full nose job because in videos her nose still looks more or less the same.

Hey guys, this is a random question but does listening to a certain artist means you are part of the community? Was asking this because i saw a comment that says "just when i think key (shinee) is straight he starts dancing to judas (the lady gaga song)". I've also seen multiple comments on twitter calling people who listen to lady gaga gay. Is she known as a lgbt icon to english speakers? because this is the first time I'm hearing about this. Also further back in this thread I've seen someone claim that idols listening to troye sivan or kehlani as evidence. How can we be sure if they are recommending these artist because they see themselves as them or if they just like listening to popular songs? I know it's kind of a joke where people say that lgbt people have good tastes in music but I'm not sure that translates to other countries. Indie songs that belong to artists like troye sivan or halsey are often played in stores and café and i doubt people listening to them would know their sexuality. (?)

Chaeyeon also had her eyes done right? I remember reading an article where Knets were saying that she “got prettier” and that is allegedly due to her getting double eyelids. Looking through predebut pictures of them, chaeryoung’s eyelids also look a bit difference but it doesn’t look like the work of a double eyelid surgery to me. It could be a lateral cantoplasty or a similar procedures to that. I’m not that good at spotting eyelid changes (unless it’s really obvious) so if anyone more knowledgeable would like to share their opinion please go ahead. Chaeyeon’s nose was only obvious to me in recent comebacks. My opinions are kinda mixed but it definitely made the middle part of her face seems larger(?).

Interesting observation but I think it’s just the way his bleached damaged hair is covering his face and the filtered freckles? Cause in the second pic he doesn’t look like that.

One of the greatest nose jobs in the industry really. Follows the structure of her face completely and makes her look even more gorgeous. (^This photo looks heavily filtered ngl) Overall Itzy really has some of the best work done. they all look really natural and it's clear that JYPE's surgeon knows what they're doing. The twice girlies ( there are a lot of debates we had about this so i won't be naming names ) all have that natural yet elevated look. Out of all the big companies, JYP idols are often seen as the most "natural". I've seen so many ppl in the comment sections of ppl discussing Twice's ps defending them. The most common comments i see are "but they were 15" and 'i don't see any changes" and "it's just puberty". I hope people like that never find this thread.

I'm sorry I don't know the exact dates of the photo I just categorize them by how recent they are posted in my pinterest home page. Just to be clear, i looked it up and Work it/From Home are from the same comeback (resonance) and Lovaholic was like 3 weeks ago (there are about a 4 months difference between those 2 comebacks). I got a bit confused because his hair color was kinda similar in Work it and the dreadful gimme gimme music video. But either way i think we can all agree that he looks really different in that Work It photoshoot. It's really tragic how they edit the photo like that, would not be good for anyone's mental health really.

yeah his predebut nose was so cute! If he had that nose now he would look a whole lot younger. His nose now looks jarringly obvious - like you can kinda see the outline of the implant. I've heard from a Lorry Hill video ( where she was analyzing Cindy Kimberly ) that the skin around the nose gradually gets thinner as you age. ( she recommend that the surgeon be conservative with the tissue removal in the nose tip ). The doctor who did his nose must have not cared about how he would look when he ages. This is the main problem i have with kpop surgeries tbh. Most of them look amazing now but in 5-10 years they would not. This seems to be the case with rowoon, and countless more. i can already predict which young idol would not look good in a few years ( the entire SM jaw shave gang for instance ). Rowoon naturally has high cheekbones and a strong lower face which can make someone look more mature than they are however he had enough facial fat to still make him look young. Now that his facial fat is fading, so is his youthful looks apparently.

Yeah he's getting more popular due to his acting than his idol career lol. He's supposedly quite famous for his height ( 191 cm ). In that photo he was "bare faced" and maybe the angle made him look different. I have to say though, he was cuter before the nose job.

I also thought he looked really unrecognizable tbh. I think it's already been said multiple times that he had one of the worst nose jobs out of the SM idols. This is what he looked like before the Lovaholic comeback: In these photos, his nostril placement is completely different. I believe he had a ( badly done ) nostril tuck before the latest comeback which is why his nostrils look really thin. I wonder if he could breathe properly? I don't know if this makes much sense but is this type of nose shape achieved through surgical means only or does it also occur naturally? Oh no..... I didn't even recognize him at first ( or second ) glance. I think this is one of the worst photos of his nose. The doctor removed too much tip cartilage and now it look similar to jhope or that actor we were previously talking about. Something about the nostril shape is rubbing me the wrong way. Also is it just me or is his eyes, lips, and chin completely different? his cheekbones also seems strangely flat. or is his cheeks fuller?

Its like this photo of him. He looks really overfilled yet i doubt he had that much put in. I guess he just has a natural pillow face? I agree with you on the mix-matched features statement. all of his features don't look like they belong to him (even though they are really similar to his natural ones) but somehow he makes it work. He looks really good and i would consider him to be one of the visuals of 127 without the fillers tbh.

His nose is not straight naturally and I think someone in this thread had mentioned how sm likes to photoshop his nose? In my post i was using statements i heard when talking to my american friends in english and from reading comments i see online (although i can't be sure what country the commenters are from). I'm sure there are alot of differences with Americans/common wealth countries and European countries? And it is true that a lot of chinese webcartoons are based of stereotypes which are some times toxic. (most common one would be a masculine top and a feminine bottom). A lot of times female gendered words are used to describe the bottom which can sound weird to English readers (although this is more of a language issue than anything else really). It is also very clear that some of these writers have never met a gay person before. some of these fics could be described as fetishizing really. Danmei is actually quite popular in China usually with more die hard fan girls. The most common ones include elements of traditional chinese history, royalty, and tragedy. Most of the story are slow paced with unique drawings (the ongoing ones will usually be updated once a week) and alot of them have over 500k+ reads (i've even seen some with millions). Danmei is better as a representation than any of those popular explicit webtoons (ex. killing stalking, etc. ) tbh. I think its a bit uncomfortable to sexualize gay people to that extent just because of their sexuality.

Not sure if this is very relevant to the conversation but from what I've noticed there is a big difference between how east asian and westerners talk about lgbt movies/mv. In the west, the first thing people talk about when they mention cmbyn ( the movie ) is how "inclusive" and "ground-breaking" it is. When i was still living in my home country, every time a good movie/show with lgbt characters are mentioned, most of time they would just ignore the characters and talk about the plot or something. This is actually very funny some time like for example, the top comment in the review section in weibo for the cmbyn movie are all about how good the soundtrack or how aesthetic the movie is. Also cmbyn has a shockingly high rating on weibo of 8.9 (for reference titanic has a 9.2). That movie is quite popular within youths of china (and probably sk too), tbh I thought it was a bit boring lol. Also from the rating section, a lot of boyXboy online books are very popular ( and also practically everyone knows that Chén Qíng Lìng is supposed to be a gay drama lol and alot of them complain about the changes made). Honestly i would say a lot of chinese teenagers these days are open-minded, its mostly the older population and the tradition of respecting older people that's holding them back. Introducing the lgbt community through movies/shows/music videos/books to a conservative country like china or sk is a very good idea imo. I think lgbt characters are included in a few korean webtoons? also the manhwa "BJ Alex" is quite popular (I've seen multiple korean comments on it).
