As someone who had watched every single epi of both seasons, people either join produce as a stepping stone or to revive a stagnant career. The only worthy contestants in s2 were Jaehwan (an independent trainee), the Hotshot duo and Nu'est Kang Dongho. They hardly help to support your assumption. For pdx, the loudest objections came from the fans of Mingkyu and Jinhyuk. The former being nothing more than a pretty face. I would say good job to whoever rigged him out tbh. Wooseok was on hiatus cuz of some issues so he joined the show to revive his career. While Nu'est did for the same reason. Having 4/5 members joining the show was already too much, why would they send Aron too?

wannaone got to complete their contract, world tours, comebacks, reality shows etc. Ours was disbanded after one album. A number of stuff that they had recorded, were never released too. Mnet also tried to erase their existence wherever possible.
