  1. What changes should we expect to see in their jaw and chin? I'm asking for myself honestly LOL. I got braces at 14 because I also had a large overjet and overbite – as well as a prominent gap between my 2 front teeth. Had to extract 2 teeth to make room as well. With so much to be straightened, I would've expected prominent changes to my lower face, but I looked the same after 2.5 years of braces and elastics. I did change a little, but I attribute those changes to puberty, losing baby fat, new glasses and new eyebrows lol.
  2. I got signed out of my OH account so I've been lurking anonymously all this time but I had to log back in to laugh at this LOL You're either not Asian or really delusional or both. My eyes were big as a kid, around that size, from when I was born to 6-7 years old. But as I grew up, my nose, lips, face, etc. got much bigger than my eyes. So they don't look as big now, in proportion with the rest of my face. Of course that's not always the case – Yeji has always had smaller eyes in proportion to the rest of her face. But here's another example of big eyes as a kid =/= big eyes as an adult (with Yesung): Honestly it's pretty obvious she's had work done. Idk why I'm trying to defend this argument even, just thought it would lend more credibility if I share my own features/experience
  3. I'm always surprised that, although Jisoo appears to be one of the most natural members of Blackpink, she only has that ONE predebut photo of her. I mentioned it many pages back, but I suspect some Botox for her as well – she had an "older" look in her pre-debut and early debut photos Now
  4. Can you post the predebut photos anyway? It's hard to tell from these photos Her eyes don't look any more "Korean" to me, in fact they just look like what most idols achieve after surgery + make-up + coloured contacts. Judging from these photos alone, she just looks like a white girl who fits some of the beauty standards, and got a little more "Koreanified" after emulating Korean makeup styles? I did find this photo where she looks a lot whiter
  5. Found this post on pannchoa about Yoona fixing her bow legs [theqoo] WOW THIS IS POSSIBLE? YOONA'S O-SHAPED LEGS BEFORE AND AFTER REVISION Before (click the link for more pics, this is one of the few photos where she wasn't hiding it by crossing her legs) After Is this only possible with surgery?
  6. I think it's hard to tell with these photos alone (fansite photos vs selcas), especially the last 2 that look like there's some kind of mattifying/blurring effect with the lip product. I have similar lips to Jisoo (the M-shaped lips, with the prominent bump at the front) and my lips can look VERY different in terms of thickness depending on the angle and the lip product I'm wearing. She's always had thicker lips, though I wouldn't be surprised if there have been subtle lip fillers
  7. I think Vernon is straight but I wouldn't be surprised if he was bi/pan (I know this could be fanservice but Vernon doesn't usually do that)
  8. Frequent epilator here!! I've been epilating for around 4 years now and it does hurt a LOT, especially the pubic hair regions. I hope no idol is putting themselves through that omg. I think the pain has gotten better with time but I don't have much hair to begin with, so I haven't epilated enough to tell. You may already know this, but the thing about epilating is that your hair has to get to a certain length so the tweezers can grab it effectively, so I don't know if they do epilate? As for facial hair, a lot of male idols have mentioned wearing a mask on lives because they haven't shaved haha
  9. Wow I really like what @Nctyleggo said about how you can only make a Suzy out of Suzy. She does seem to have had work done, but pre-debut she had the same pretty and sweet (I have no other word to describe it LOL but she looks so sweet) face. Forehead's been mentioned for Suzy as well, she lifted her hairline. Honestly I always find nose jobs difficult to detect unless the shape is really different, I've seen some people grow out of their noses REALLY well (r/UglyDuckling is my favourite for that, but I've seen it happen irl as well). Definitely agree on her eyes looking wider, in her latest drama they were practically popping out sometimes lol.
  10. I think he might have gotten Botox for his gummy smile as well! Not sure about the gum recountouring, because his teeth look the same size to me, but the gums are less obvious because his upper lip doesn't lift up anymore. In the before photos, you can see his smile has a slight heart shape when the upper lip thins out, but his lips are still prominent in the after photos. Another celebrity who might have gotten a similar procedure is Joy. Coincidentally, I found this thread for the first time when Googling "jung haein plastic surgery" after watching While You Were Sleeping. I would argue that he's had more work done than Lee Jongsuk, but he looks a lot more natural. I still can't quite place why LJS looks so uncanny valley lol
  11. Omg don't even start with Natasha Lyonne... I just finished my 5th or so rewatch of OITNB. Every single time I watch it, I Google "is natasha lyonne gay" only to get photos of her with Fred Armisen. An odd choice indeed. They're probably 2 bisexuals as well lmao Chaeyoung's style reminds me EXACTLY of my friend who identifies as pan. Both have this ~indie~ vibe to them. My friend outright expresses interest in girls, but she ended up dating a man with the exact same vibe and style lol I actually never ever suspected Irene until the purple friend story. The story just reminded me exactly of my ~admiration~ towards certain older girls when I was younger. My conservative Asian parents refused to tell me what being gay meant and I knew I liked guys, so I never knew what being a lesbian was, much less bi. I just thought I looked up to girls a lot and found them very pretty. Only after I grew up and discovered the Internet was I like, oh, that sounds like me Of course it doesn't mean she's a lesbian just because we shared similar experiences. It could just be a very cute friendship story. Like you said, it's all speculation
  12. Ohh, I'm glad you pointed it out! I always noticed Jihyo's eyes and how pretty they are, but somehow it never occured to me how rare those eyelids are among idols. Seventeen's Joshua has the same thing, I think he sometimes get triple eyelids as well
  13. I'm not living in China and I don't follow Chinese celebrities too closely, so I honestly can't say. I'm not sure if it depends on the region either. But as a Chinese person surrounded by Chinese people, I do have some input to offer on this: We do generally prefer lighter skin. For me me, I see it as a preference, the way some Westerners like to suntan on the beach to get darker skin. I personally think I look better with lighter skin, and I will ensure my skin stays light by keeping out of the sun. When I got tanned, my mother joked that it was ugly (note: she's not an abusive parent, I knew that it was a joke and I wasn't offended or insulted). When my friends and I got out of the swimming pool, we stood around looking at each other going "oh no, I got tanned" and "omg, your skin got so much darker". None of it was meant to be rude. And of course, I do have friends who are more tanned, but I never make comments about their skin colour or insinuate that they're ugly. That's why I seldom take K-pop idos' "colourism" comments seriously. I can't speak for anyone that's not me, especially not Koreans, but generally comments on skintone are very harmless observations/remarks. I forgot who said this, but I think a Twice member (Jihyo?) found out another member (Jeongyeon?) was going to the jungle and told her "not to get too dark". I saw some international fans taking offence at that, but to me, it was just... pointing out that she shouldn't get too tanned. (Beauty standards are a whole other topic, but lighter skin is just a preference that may have been ingrained in us.) She didn't say "don't stand in the sun or you'll get ugly". I see why comments like that could be taken poorly, but I think there are worse remarks to be making big deals out of. If an idol has made it known that they're sensitive about skintone remarks or that they're insecure about their dark skin, it's definitely in poor taste – but "don't get too dark in the jungle" sounds alright to me. Also, while my friends and I talk about how tan we've gotten over the holidays or whatever, we don't actively tease our darker friends the way a lot of K-pop idols do (EXO with Kai, etc.). So I don't know if that's a cultural thing, or they just enjoy teasing him or something. Also just wanted to add: idols using those bright SNOW filters is one thing, but just because I personally prefer lighter skin on myself doesn't mean I'm okay with comments that are flat out colourist or racist. I'm definitely also not okay with fansites that deliberately edit their photos to make an idols' skin whiter, especially if that idol has tanned skin.
  14. Adding on to the skin lightening discussion – I'm Chinese and may have some things worth adding. I do agree that idols definitely use some skincare or have some treatments with skin-lightening properties, but the percentage that goes for full-on skin lightening is low, and bleaching would be even lower. 1) In school, I had tanned skin because I was swimming every week and attending PE lessons outdoors. After avoiding the sun and walking at sheltered areas whenever possible, my skin lightened. In fact, the skin on my face lightened the most, because I was regularly putting cleanser, scrubs, exfoliants and sunscreen on it. I didn't take care of the rest of my body as much and my arms and legs are significantly darker than my face lol. I wasn't super stringent on skincare, but just by taking care of my face for a couple of months, it jumped by a few shades. Going by this photo, I went from like a G50 to G20. With idols so committed to skincare and bodycare and having multiple products, I don't think it's that hard to believe their skin would be much lighter with regular upkeep. (That worked because I had lighter skin to begin with, but of course there's a limit to how much lighter one can go, especially if they had darker skin to begin with.) 2) Stage lighting + fansites whitewashing the features off + flash definitely adds to the appearance of lighter skin on idols. There was this post I read years back, about idols who actually had to wear darker foundation while on stage, because the stage lighting completely washed everything out. You could distinctly see the darker line on their neck. (And of course, there are more tanned idols who use lighter foundation on their face only, so you see the line still.) I can't find the article anymore, but here's one of actress Goo Hyesun talking about how she has to wear darker make-up for TV appearances. Your best bet for an idol's accurate skintone would be looking at photos of them in real life, usually taken by fans with their phones. (Even those aren't 100% accurate – I feel like my skintone looks different in every single photo I see of myself lol.) I read somewhere that idols on Knowing Bros look most true to their actual selves. I forgot the reasoning for that but I guess you could use it as comparison?? (I'm not sure how accurate it is but it seems about right to me.) Of course, I don't doubt that idols DO go through skin lightening procedures. I just think there are a whole bunch of factors involved in that, and going a couple shades lighter is really not that difficult with the help of skincare, make-up, lighting, etc.
  15. 7 shades lighter LOL but styling and make-up do look like they play a big role for him! He's definitely still recognisable enough for stan twt to recognise him lol. I agree with @meeepleton the eyes, I don't think he's had eyelid surgery since his eyelids are inconsistent, but they look a lot more "wide open" now. I suspect buccal fat removal (or an equivalent?) as well, he always looked skinny (and his jawline was always there), but his face looks like it lost some fats. Was about to say the same thing as @neo velvet, I think you picked the most unflattering screenshot. Almost no one looks good while in the middle of talking. No doubt she does look different, but here's a much more flattering photo from the same episode
  16. I wonder how it works for people like Jennie (who may or may not have done the buccal fat removal) who still retained some chubbiness in cheeks? Like we know Gigi Hadid is going to age poorly because she has almost 0 fat there, but if Jennie isn't totally devoid of cheek fat after the supposed removal, does it make her less at risk of looking older than her age? (does this sentence make any sense lol) Speaking of P1harmony, I wanted to ask about their leader Keeho (01 liner). He was on stan twt as @busanwings but disappeared and debuted a while later (during the pandemic so not many photos of him, but) Debut The pre-debut photos that were released The pre-debut photos that stan twt released after realising this new dude in P1harmony looked awfully like their old friend lol Looks like it's the typical K-pop combo on him. It's hard to say with only selcas but I think they worked well on him though, he kind of looks like BTOB's Hyunsik with a longer skinnier face now Also that Jaehyun monk photo reminded me of this thing he tweeted:
  17. Another thing about Remini: it usually detects faces and tries to give them features. It does work sometimes – the better the quality of the original photo, the better the result is. But sometimes this happens
  18. Those photos were a little off but his eyes are generally bigger in others as well I think like @SepiaSkies mentioned, he does open his eyes wider for photos as well. But in this video, you can see his eyes still look bigger than they do now. Could it just be a good mixture of angles + opening his own eyes + other features changing?
  19. I remember I made an account just to talk about Doyoung's eyes!!! His eyes got bigger in SMRookies them smaller after debuting lol, but they have a nice shape now. Is there a procedure for making your eyes smaller?? Predebut SMRookies Now Now
  20. Red Velvet's (aptly-named) Be Natural era!! Other than that, girl groups with innocent concepts (like debut Gfriend) tend to have natural hair and no lenses too. I love looking at their old photos tbh, they look so fresh Usually circle lenses feature much larger pupils, but it's hard to tell when they're naturally-coloured anyway (I can only tell this she's wearing lenses her because she was modelling for the lens company LOL)
  21. To search on OH, you need to type the name of the thread in apostrophes, then the search term. For example: '"official plastic surgery thread" felix' or '"official plastic surgery thread" "stray kids"'. She's a fortune teller that appeared on Mysterious Record Shop! Here are more photos of her if you're interested Ahh I don't think Karina always looks like a Tim Burton character, but that particular angle + dark eye make-up + lighting weren't helping. The great thing about the aespa twitter account posting photos of the girls almost every day is you can slowly see changes. I know the photos aren't actually taken day after day or even posted in order, but it's still enough to see small changes e.g. Ning Ning's bloating reducing. I wonder what other changes they may make within the next few years Not very related but I love Giselle's nose
  22. Saw this photo and was shocked by how Wendy ALMOST looks like her 2015 self now, just with different eyebrows and nose 2021 2015 vs 2018
  23. When someone mentioned Siwon having a face that's impossible not to be popular in Korea, I immediately thought of Minho! He was my first K-pop crush :") He just has such a classic, handsome, nice face. He already looks good in photos, but I saw him at a concert and he looked EVEN better in real life. Dude looks amazing in his marines uniform, as well as with black hair. (Personally not a fan of the bright red hair on him, but I'm also so happy that he finally dyed his hair again) Even though his face is beginning to show signs of age (which is completely normal and okay, of course), I'm so glad he decided not to inject anything. He has such a kind-looking face. There's a reason stan twt calls him the lesbian protector LOL
  24. Just went to the search bar to check it out! I didn't pay too much attention to her and just knew her as the dildo drama girl, it's interesting to see what she's done. Kevin and Jamie look natural to me. Do you have any guesses for Anna and Kelly? (I just realised I called the show Empire Bling instead of the other day round lol)
  25. Have yall watched Empire Bling on Netflix? It's about rich Asian people living it up in LA, and the first few episodes were really interesting. One of the profiles, Christine Chiu (@christine_chiu88) is married to a plastic surgeon (@drchiuhps) from Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery. She made an Instagram post detailing the procedures she got, which are: Botox/Dysport, lip fillers, Emsculpt on her arms and butt (bc her husband refuses to give her a Brazilian buttlift lol) and a boob job. Thought it was interesting, you can check out her post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CKovNbxAjWA/?igshid=1rdq2417861k4 She also wears double eyelid tape all the time apparently, you can see it in her 3rd photo in the above post
