  1. Hello there! Nice to meet you on the thread! I genuinely wonder if Pledis just doesn't have the needed manpower/enough staff or if it's just gross incompetence on their part.. Makes me a little nervous thinking they will supposedly debut a new group this year..
  2. aww yes long haired Ren definitely draws you in I need to know what kind of shampoo these kpop guys use, they have better hair than me XD

  4. JR and Aron Guest on KBS "Dogs are amazing" 8/3/2020 source
  5. Stellar's 'Archangels of the Sephiroth" comeback came to mind for me. I never thought I'd see a Jewish mysticism/Kabbalah concept in a kpop group and it was definitely a risk in terms of sound. I liked how they even incorporated the Tree of life into the photocards and thought that was a cool touch. source
  6. I thought 2012 was the big year for debuts but wow 80 groups in 2017 one day I'd like to go through the nugu debuts and see if there were any good gems in there, it seems a lot of them are not featured in the "big distributors" channel like 1thek or Stone, and probably not even shown in the music shows. There definitely would have been more debuts last year and it's sad to think that a lot of the smaller/lesser known entertainment companies probably might not have even survived.
  7. congrats to Nu'est and aww the Aron Fan Baekho is holding, that's precious. Thanks for the post and the translated interview!
  8. Thanks so much, this has been really helpful and I appreciate the information! I did check out the stage breaks from the 1thek channel and wow, it's not just dance it's pure art. Also dang Hwanwoong, dude sure knows how to get it ^ ^
  9. BH Labels New Year's Eve Live Post Just wanted to make a roundup post on the recent concert and did anybody have a chance to see it? Based on fan accounts Nu'est performed a medley version of these songs and Ren and Baekho participated in the collaboration stages. Overcome Love Paint Bet Bet (Orchestra version) Shadow I'm in Trouble (remix? slightly different instrumentation) Love Me Drive (Korean Version) short video Clip from Naver TV https://tv.naver.com/v/17620189 source Leaders of each group joined together on the same stage for an interview/Q and A session source source -Nuest Twitter
  10. oh man me too, Broduce was such a journey! I remember my fave Baekho part's was the arm wrestling bit, the open up performance, and the megaton bar memes I still can't believe how he was a victim of the vote manipulation and all that he had to go through, poor guy. Minhyun was my fave and there was this part in the first episode when they were interviewing the trainees who had already debut, and he said something like "when I was a trainee, I had thought it'd end once I debut" just really struck a chord with me. How we work so hard to achieve a goal, but when it finally happens, you find that it's not all that you expected, and there is still a long way up to climb. I kinda related to that in the way with how I was going through college and graduating/finding a job afterwards. I thought I did everything "right" in order to graduate, got good grades, had good internships and experience, etc. But when it came to my goal of getting my dream job/finding employment, it was a lot harder than I thought and I also went through a down period where things just didn't seem to go right no matter what I did. Things worked out in the end for me but I guess because of that I found myself just really rooting for Nu'est and their underdog/reversal story and they'll always have a special place in my kpop heart ^ ^ I do think that Pledis could be doing more for the group, but if not, then at least I'm hoping they won't screw things up : / But as long as the boys are happy, healthy and making the kind of music they want that's enough for me and I'll be looking forward to what they do next
  11. Hello there! Thanks so much for sharing this discussion! I wasn't sure heading into it what it was going to be like, but ended up thoroughly enjoying revisiting Nu'est's career and discography along with you two! Ya'll seem very knowledgeable about the kpop scene in general and on different producers, choreographers, genres, and I liked how there were a lot of good adjectives and descriptions used. LOL agree with Chan on the "singing jock" description for Baekho ^ ^ It's really cool to see how far they're sound has come since 2012 and how the members have taken more active roles in creating their own music. It seems that in general if these kpop groups want to have any sort of longevity, it's definitely beneficial to have members that can self produce, compose, write lyrics, etc. Re: sleep talking.. everything about that era and the styling was .. something but fans seem to have a soft spot for it that leaves even Nu'est wondering why LOVES like it so much and this tweet/video came to mind: I'm also not really a big fan of instrumentals instead of an actual chorus and will be looking forward to your next discussion on your thoughts about the "noise music" ^ ^
  12. ahhh thank you so much for the recs I listened to all of them! I basically like anything that has a strong melody and is easy to sing along with and Bing Bing and Red thread are so going on my playlist! I looked up the lyrics to red thread and it made me love it even more especially this line and the way Ravn sings it: 실을 따라갈게 미로 속을 헤매, 조금 시간이 걸려도 널 잡을게 I'll follow the thread wandering this maze, even if it takes a while I will get you like wow, that can have so many different meanings for anyone who is struggling to reach a goal or has something or someone they are yearning for, love it! I'm curious on what's anyone's thoughts on the other line that goes "If this is the last time, I will fix the broken thread for you" This line also really stands out to me but am still trying to figure out what it exactly means. My guess is we know the red string is associated with fate/destiny in Asian cultures, but in having the speaker "fix the broken thread" he is becoming a more active participant, (ex. actually doing something and not just passively standing by).. but why is it the last time? I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on this. also, I'm excited about their comeback. I'm a sucker for clever type/logos/design and when the LIVED in the teaser video flipped to DEVIL I was freaking out, like lordy someone call the priest and get the holy water. I'm kinda scared but in a good way!
  13. Hello! First time posting in the Oneus thread and just wanted to say how hardworking these guys are and it's great to see RBW promoting them consistently. They were one of the rookies from last year I kept an eye and was excited to see the three that were on Broduce debut and have been catching up on their singles. "A song written easily" has been on repeat these days! It's totally my jam and if anyone knows other songs in their discography that has a similar vibe let me know, thank you!
  14. I remember being concerned when there was news about Jelpi making the girls leave the dorms because it made it look so obvious like they had already given up on them Can you imagine if you were a foreign member with family was overseas or if you don't really have any close relatives to count on? Like where would you go what do you do? That sounds like such a stressful situation and I hope the girls can find future success elsewhere.

  21. Hello there fellow Love! I think there was a time when One Hallyu's servers were down for months so that's my guess for the drop in engagement, but fans are still active on twitter and reddit so the fandom is still alive and they are a hoot! There's no word yet on their next Korean comeback and fans are also eagerly looking forward for any news, but in a recent interview we know that Nu'est is aware that Loves are waiting, and are continually working on making something great for us and our boy Baekho is experimenting in different genres and I know we can count on him! About the Bighit becoming the largest shareholder of Pledis.. I can't really tell if anything has improved for the better.. I know people were bummed about losing Spoonz because Spoonz/NCsoft is a rival to Weverse/BigHit and when Nu'est joined the weverse app around September Fans speculated that's when the contract with Spoonz ended. Also apparently there's some beef/drama between BH and MBC/Music core thus Seventeen and Gfriend didn't have appearances on Music core when they had their comebacks this year, so it's be interesting to see what music shows they will be on once Nu'est comes back.. sorry for the long reply and I got excited seeing fellow fan here! Do you have a favorite Nu'est song and may I ask what drew you into the group? Mine are Overcome and Love without Love, and I get so inspired how they're like a "late bloomer" group when it came to their first win, and how they didn't give up and kept at it despite the challenges. "We know that LOΛEs are waiting, and we want to create a great album for them to listen to. We can't say when it will be exactly, but please wait just a little longer."
