I was in the Army when the newest Rift expansion came out. I didn't sleep from Friday night until early Sunday morning. Like 3 or 4 am! Haha.

In my opinion (about 2 years of experience) all of Kpop is "catchy" to me. I'm just beginning to learn the lyrics to the songs though! But the rhythm and the music of Kpop is the best quality!

Well I know it's music and the music is awesome but this is how I think of it...say I'm at work and wondering if a new song is coming out. I'm at a Red Velvet fan page and everyone around me looks at me shocked and very angry. "What are you looking at? Why are you looking at those teenage girls." Then I feel bad and don't know what to say. I just want to run to my locker, get my phone and plug 'em in lol! Then it becomes a question "should Kpop be hidden?" I don't know something I'll have to just live with I guess. #MovingOn PS: At work we can use the 3 PC's there on break to browse the internet check email etc.

Thanks! I'm learning a lot. -
About 5-6 years ago I downloaded a music app and had my 2 fave stations: "60s, 70s, 80s hits" and also techno. However a while later I saw a circle up on the music row for "Kpop" and so I thought I would try it out. This is me, colorized: Lol. Ever since then I've been hooked to Kpop. Unfortunately I never thought to visit websites about it or Korean culture or anything like that. While I started to listen to Kpop about 2 years ago I only recently considered joining websites for it. I have a friend who's Thai who also likes Kpop and on his feed I saw a Red Velvet status update on a fan page. Well, while reading that article I also found a link for OH. So here I am. I like this place and I feel it can be my "Korean place" to learn and understand from.

Honestly, Korean culture is a lot about the community and what everyone thinks as well as accepted norms. In my opinion the United States is like a big commercial business. Everyone's own personal wants, needs, and desires. When the two cultures clash or are considered they are done while still reinforcing the United States' "me" attitude. Korean culture is very free in that a sense of the "greater good" in a community sense is generally the over-arching ideal everyone continually thinks. That's in contrast to the United States ideology of what's better for business or my own needs?

I'm a bit older guy (38) who's learning from Pandora music player about Kpop and the soul and spirit in it. But when I go to the fan pages and everything I realize the people/singers are very young and I'm sometimes shocked as to if I should like the music or not (because of my age.) However, on topic, while I believe Selugi is beautiful and everything I wouldn't think of Kpop singers in that way. For me it's the same as not learning the individual song names or the individual groups who sing a specific song. I just really enjoy the music and to start dividing it up by group names and song titles it starts to remove some of the magic.

Name (what you'd like to go by): Cameron or Tigerzen. My online friends usually call me Tigerzen. Age: 38 Country: United States Bias Groups: Red Velvet, Blackpink, BTS, HyunA, GOT7, EXO Biases: Selugi EDIT: I just want to say too that the song "The Eve" by EXO has really moved me and while I'm learning the lyrics I really liked that song!

I am listening on Pandora to "Shot thru the heart" by TWICE and I was kinda nodding my head and half-singing it and saw my reflection in my bathroom mirror and immediately shock face and kinda embarrassed. Haha. It's Sunday so that means apartment cleaning. May as well do it with good music lol.

Personally, wearing a political statement with you means you bring those politics wherever you go with everything you do. I feel, in my mind, it's bad practice. EDIT: However, it's also an item used to represent another thing. Such as a wedding ring, an electrician's belt, items such as that. So I'm a little conflicted on how I feel about this.
