Seventeen charts better and has bigger physical sales. Their songs are more well-known in the public like Aju Nice and Mansae than any GOT7 songs. They have solid sales in Japan as well as touring achievements. More popular in SK and Japan as well. Tho individual popularity-wise, GOT7 has Jackson who is very popular. Jinyoung is pretty popular too. Seventeen don't really have a member who stood out or have solo public recognition like them.

More like international fans calling F(x) and SHINee experimental groups, not filler groups. Filler groups were more like SJ. They were made up of most trainess at the time that didn't make it to TVXQ. Even if these two groups were called filler groups those were nothing but bashes and baseless slanders by haters. Years later, people were calling how SHINee is the SM group with the most talented members/the most talented group in SM with best live singing. People were also saying F(x) would be the girlgroup with big potential and most unique if SM didn't give them scraps and bare minimum. F(x) were extremely successful digitally. They were only behind SNSD. Also alot were saying how F(x) were given SNSD's reject songs im their early years but that didn't stop them from charting well. SHINee at debut were more public friendly with Replay than they were in later years as SM gave them more experiment concepts and songs later on. Some songs of SHINee were public friendly like Replay, View, Dream Girl, Julitte, etc whereas some like Sherlock, Everybody, WSS were experimental. RDD, rather than being public friendly or experimental, it's success could be contributed to the fact it was catchy, repetitive and addicting, hence the viral-ness of it. Even if they were filler groups, that doesnt correlate with digitals or impact of their songs. They've had successes and recognition despite the so called "filler" you claimed them to be. Seems like you're the one that have something against 2nd gen groups and SM boygroups based on generalization and making up your own narrative and presumption. Before EXO came along, SHINee were the best SM boygroup when it comes to digitals. That generalization of SM boygroups not doing well on the charts mostly applies to TVXQ and SJ but not really SHINee. And nowadays, by look of things, NCT Dream might be on their way to follow SHINee's footsteps if SM don't mess them up. The other NCT units' digital chart reputation unfortunately seem to follow TVXQ's and SJ's. Actually with SHINee, they already started to have their biggest hits in the early years compared to years later. Replay was during their debut and RDD was 2 years later. Get your facts right! Those 2 are their biggest hits among the public, out of the many hits they had throughout the years. "In general, SM boy groups didn't start having hits with the public till years later". My point is impact rather than charting. "Charting" only proves a certain point but "impact" goes far beyond that. Replay and RDD are still memorable and well-known even after 10 years. The public are still listening, singing and playing those SHINee's songs everywhere till this day. Also, if I'm not mistaken Replay was in the top 20 in the yearly end of the year TOP100 biggest hits ranking in the year it was released (since you're so adamant about charting but ignorant about how huge Replay was in the year end charts. My Type can't hold a candle to Replay). I doubt My Type would still get people talking or have the same impact as those SHINee songs has had, 10 years from now.

The OP didn't say we should rule out longevity factor in this discussion. My point is SHINee could sustain and maintain their position in the industry for very long time and they are memorable to the public and have alot more hit songs(or more amount of songs that do well consistently), something that can't be said about many groups including iKON.

Replay and Ring Ding Dong were/are huge hits in Korea tho. By their 7th year, they released View (arguably their last biggest public hit song) and it was doing very well on the charts, in public, and among the top10 biggest hit award recipient on MMA. Most kpop groups would already be declining around this time but not SHINee. Love Scenario maybe bigger than any SHINee song but you have to give it to SHINe for the constant hit songs and longevity.
