  1. in case anyone is wondering, up is refreshing, right is faint/weak, down is dark, and left is energetic/exciting. personally speaking I'm a fan of the upper left quandrant. Hello, Thinking About You, Rocket, Change Up ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
  2. I was shook that almost everyone was lip sycing during Korean Drama Awards (even Vernon lipping ha rap lines which I thought was weird), but Mingyu was singing live the entire time.. Legend M truly blessing us with consistency since 1997.
  3. I was running late bc of train issues so everything good was sold out.. smh.. but can buy on Mercari or other apps most celebrities I've seen in real life look smaller (the camera makes people seem bigger IMO). I saw Jonghyun (RIP), Onew and Key at Gimpo last year and I was shook by how tiny they were. as for Seventeen, Hoshi seems smaller in person in particular. Wonwoo looks even skinnier in person and his head is kinda bigger than in pictures, also Minghao seems taller to me. Mingyu still looks like a giant.
  4. I just got back from the last night at Saitama Super Arena and the boys were amazing as always if anyone cares I wrote random thoughts:
  5. ignore the tragic hair coloring -- I love this choreo mostly for the Lady Gaga/Beyonce "Telephone" references in the pre-chorus
  6. omg i was looking at this on the train someone asked if they should call an ambulance because i was dead on the ground... holy SHIT
  7. Pledis immediately denied it. and I'm pissed. I am located in Japan but honestly I don't want to this JP debut to go on too long..
  8. love this. I mean he was already confirmed to be a gay king when he went to a Katy Perry concert and started screaming about Mother Monster and saying how kids were staring at him or something while he was dancing but but "mama has to get her twerk on" or whatever. add another receipt to the pile!
  9. sweetie. do you know what the phrase "to live vicariously" even means? why would we be living vicariously through closeted people? like anyone here fantasizes about living as a closeted idol in an industry that is openly hostile to LGBT people?
  10. lol I have this shirt... about $35 USD at Tomato School in Hongdae. we love thrifty kings
  11. Kansai (Osaka) dialect has grammatical differences, but the grammar issues I'm talking about with him are grammar mistakes that make him sound like a foreigner. mostly though it's his accent. sorry to keep dragging this topic on but I'm super interested, as a multi-cultural Japanese person myself.
  12. I don't think it'll affect their promotions either. however, as a Japanese person, I think people are going to be confused as to why his Japanese sounds like a foreigner. it's not that he speaks a dialect -- Osaka dialect is the most famous dialect in Japan and it's on TV all the time (most comedians use it in Japan). his grammar is flat out wrong at times (mistakes native speakers would never make) and his Korean accent is very very thick. which is why I have a hard time believing he was born and raised in Japan.
  13. it's not a Kansai accent (I'm from near Osaka so I'm familiar with what a Kansai accent sounds like). he speaks like he wasn't raised in Japan and if he were in Japan he would be assumed to be a foreginer. curious if he went to some kind of international school or something.
  14. thanks for confirming this -- I am a bit confused on how his Japanese became like that so quickly. someone who left Japan at age 17 would not normally start speaking in broken Japanese so I wonder if he lived somewhere else when he was growing up.
  15. quick question on Yuta -- I am Japanese and I recently checked out a few videos of Yuta speaking Japanese. it's pretty clear to any native Japanese speaker that he has a strong accent (it's hard to place exactly where it's from). his grammar is also strange sometimes in the clips I've seen. frankly there are members of DBSK with better Japanese than him. does anyone know when he left Japan or where he has lived? I'm curious because the only thing I've been able to find is that he was born in Osaka. not criticizing him, as I am a person with a mixed-culture background too. anyways thanks, guys!
  16. I have lived in Japan for over half my life so I'm used to Japanese people. they're super polite. no pushing at all -- even if people wanted to it wouldn't be possible because the way Japanese concert halls or literally anywhere has designated lines and are super strict. I've also been to MANY concerts here in Tokyo before (like ones without assigned seating) and it's never an issue. I've seen the boys every time they've come here (4 times total) and I must say there are some key things I noticed over the years of seeing them: Wonwoo is scary skinny. The8 is skinny too but Wonwoo is another level. I'm used to skinny people in Japan but if I saw someone Wonwoo's size on the train or somewhere I'd definitely stare. I was a bit too far away this time but last time I was in the floor seats right next to the stage and it was distracting. Mingyu is handsome as hell in real life and his face is SO SMALL. Vernon looks to be about 176 or 177 Dino looked taller than usual this time to me for some reason Jeonghan looks even more feminine in person The8 is the most impressive dancer in-person (I used to think it was Hoshi). All of the boys have quite stable vocals live except Coups and as I mentioned before it's distracting how off he is (he's not really trying cuz he's doing the whole talk-sing thing) Joshua, Jeonghan and S Coups all look the same to me in terms of height The thing I didn't expect was the amount of fan service last night --- sooooo much hugging, jumping on each other, holding each other... it was much different than what I had seen before! EDIT: Sorry I remembered one other thing: there were WAY more male fans this time, I was shocked. in front of me was 2 guys from Korea who were there together, and I saw a few other groups of male K-Carats. actually a chunk of the audience was from Korea, I'd say about 5-10%. there were also some J-Carats who were guys too, mostly high school student looking guys.
  17. I just got back from the Yokohama Arena concert... totally random but some thoughts: I am now convinced that Minghao's mullet is a clip-on or something, it looked like it was hanging off the back of his head and about to fall off Mingyu's vocals had me shook throughout the entire night. he sounded amazing during Gidae, Hello and Trauma Everyone's hair was on point except DK's who kind of looked like Ronald McDonald with that red afro he had going on Hoshi is still a legendary MC Woozi corrected Vernon's Japanese and it was the funniest thing ever The boys have gotten MUCH better at Japanese, particularly Mingyu and Seungkwan Gidae was performed in Japanese and became Kite ("come to me") which I thought was cute Minghao's rap breakdown in Jam Jam caught me off guard but I have to say he slayed Pretty U got the most cheers -- I think everyone misses that song/performance the most The stage was dead center so they changed up the direction they faced with each song which was nice I was devastated they didn't do Thinking About You, but super happy for some other album tracks like Swimming Fool Jun and Woozi impressed me the most vocally -- S Coups was wayyyyyyy off pitch throughout the entire night which was kind of jarring Jeonghan got the loudest screams but Dino had a surprising number of fans
  18. where the HECK is my Thinkin About U performance?? that song is legendary alreddy..
  19. not sure about other acts but Seventeen's concerts went about 80 USD -> 85-> 85-> 95 this time. funnily enough the last time when I bought on an auction site I got it for like 3 dollars cheaper than the original price lol.
