  1. bts is a very interesting group to analyse because most of their surgeries were done after debut, which means we have a wide array of hd photos to compare namjoon: a rather unfortunate nosejob where they removed too much of his cartilage, a jaw shave to correct his naturally lopsided jawline jhope: pretty much every type of cosmetic surgery you can think of - a new nose every comeback, double eyelid, epicanthoplasty, fat graft, forehead implant, fillers - you name it suga: like you said he gets fillers quite regularly and sometimes overdoes which makes him look bloated he's also had a jawshave and mayyyyybe a chin implant (could just be fillers), rhinoplasty to bring the nostrils in, slim the bridge and lift his nosetip, he might've gotten some of the extra skin removed from his eyelids to make his eyes wider while still maintaining his monolids jin: very subtle rhinoplasty to raise his nose bridge and make the tip slightly more pinched, fillers here and there, otherwise quite natural jimin: rhinoplasty, epicanthoplasty, lots of filler, botox around his jawline, maybe buccal fat removal but it's hard to tell with his dramatic weight loss taehyung: rhinoplasty and a hairline transplant! that aside, his glowup has been very gradual, so i'd chalk it up to improved styling and him growing into his looks. if he uses any fillers, then he's very subtle about it unlike the other members. after he lost his baby fat, his face has become very gaunt and bony like the rest of him, which is a stark contrast to the bloated look fillers tend to give. jungkook: one of the best nosejobs in the biz - a bit slimmer from the front and much straighter/taller in profile but otherwise near identical, epicanthoplasty, raised his natural double eyelids sometime before wings era
  2. i have to wonder where troubled kids who just got into fights fit into this picture... it would be all too easy to automatically frame them as bullies, without looking at any of the circumstances sometimes kids hate each other and hurt each other without there being any clear cut victim/perpetrator dichotomy. sometimes in these situations both people walk away feeling like the victim of the situation
  3. i mean she literally broke her face... they had to wire her mouth shut, so yeah she looks different. that much was a given from the moment the accident happened but you're also using a deliberately unflattering screenshot that exaggerates the swelling. in motion she actually looks fine, in fact she looks more like her old self than she has in a very long time (bloating aside)
  4. moment of silence for chanhee's old button nose & juyeon's old eagle beak
  5. i can only speak for the boyz. unless stated otherwise, all of this was done predebut. sangyeon: subtle double eyelid surgery jacob: nosejob younghoon: eyes and nose hyunjae: botox, fillers, possibly buccal fat removal, no invasive procedures as far as i can tell q: canthoplasty, fillers, possibly a jaw shave but could just be botox juyeon: double eyelid surgery, slimmed down his nose and got rid of his natural bump/hook in 2019 (rip) kevin: i think he's done something to his jawline in the past year or so but i can't pinpoint it new: double eyelid surgery predebut which he then got enhanced in 2019, at the same time that he got a very unnecessary nosejob (again rip) haknyeon: au naturale sunwoo: god tier nosejob eric: another god tier nosejob, canthoplasty, the lower falf of his face has slimmed down dramatically since debut but idk what to chalk that up to (i didn't include hwall because the only surgery he got was after he'd already left the group)
  6. it's very easy to implicate someone in controversy with zero evidence nowadays. not saying it's the case here, but i have to wonder how many of these bullying stories were actually more of a two-way street where two people simply didn't get along, and then one of them plays up the victim narrative years later. one of my old class mates is relatively famous now (like i see her everywhere in local news, on the tv, on the radio) and we used to HATE each other. she was a major bitch, like super arrogant and narcissistic. if i wanted i'm sure i could find enough text messages, old social media and pics/video footage to make up a compelling story about how she bullied me, but deep down i know that would be a lie, because i responded back with just as much venom. fighting =/= bullying, and that's a distinction that should be emphasized.
  7. even thinking about this makes me shudder i think hyewon's case can be chalked up to fillers and heavy editing tho regardless of how it's achieved i find this trend really strange considering how it elongates the lower half of the face, which gives it this sort of dragged out look. it really ages the person quite a bit, and also gives that "horse face" impression that knetz talk about all the time.
  8. i honestly don't think there's that big of a difference. he already had quite pronounced double eyelids and open inner corners. the only major difference i see is that his eyes were more droopy as a kid. the nosejob on the other hand is quite obvious
  9. oh well, seems we were on the same page from jump! sorry for misinterpreting you i gotta laugh a little at how quick people are to call idols botched over pics that are actually very natural looking. certain users need to stop using this topic as an avenue to drag idols they don't like. this is a discussion thread not a bashing thread.
  10. the inner corners look perfectly natural as well. he has clear epicanthic folds that also change in prominence from different angles (i.e. this is from a low angle and from the side, which obviously means it's going to look less prominent/more open than from head on or above) if this really is the work of a surgeon it is ANYTHING but botched. people would kill to get results that are as subtle and natural looking as this, with zero visible scarring.
  11. i really dont see whatever you're trying to point out??? this looks remarkably natural in a way that would be hard to replicate with surgery another comment even called this a "botched procedure" which honestly just makes me laugh. this is how natural double eyelids usually look on east asians - with multiple creases that reveal themselves differently depending on expression and eye level. it's more of telltale sign when there's a single hard crease that remains the same at all times. i remember the same argument being made about park jihoon who also has very natural double eyelid creases lol
  12. if some random custie asked me if i was gay i would absolutely deny it in a heartbeat too. not because i'm ashamed of it or anything, just in a "this doesn't concern you, i don't wanna have this conversation with complete strangers, have a nice day" kinda way yall have to remember that's what we are to idols - customers. even aside from the societal stigma and possible family/career/life complications, they have no moral obligation to be honest with us that said, anyone with half a brain would know sehun's lying thru his teeth
  13. ken, hyuk and hongbin are as straight as they come imo hakyeon is a flaming homosexual no question about it ravi seems very bi and very comfortable with that (he's quite similar to jackson) leo could be anything, but i don't think he's straight. he loves male attention a bit too much and gets very flustered around men
  14. spotify told me i'd listened to over 500 genres this year and i didn't even know there existed that many so clearly not
  15. when girl groups bend over in a line, creating a human centipede looking formation. not cute. not sexy. just really awkward and objectifying.
  16. agree with what's already been said but would like to add that lovelyz has one of the most male dominated fandoms in kpop (to the point where i've read fanaccounts from korean girls that quit the fandom just cause they felt so alienated from the overall experience) whereas omgirl has always had a strong female following, which wm further encouraged though marketing. i know the term "girl crush" has come to mean one very specific hardcore punk aesthetic, but omgirl has arguably always been girl crush too, choosing concepts that appeal or relate to girls. i'd call them the music equivalent of a magical girl anime. it's no secret that ggs with strong female followings will always have more longevity than the ones that don't, because fangirls are simply more loyal, dedicated and willing to spend their time or money.
  17. slayc's debut and subsequent rise to fame has been one of the only highlights of kpop these past few months
  18. that's really brave, good for him! i hope this doesn't put a damper on his career in the future, knowing how few roles are available to trans people
  19. korean doesn't really use gendered pronouns tho. pretty sure they just meant words like "baby girl" or "girlfriend" that are specifically about women.
