  1. I think marketing is the most problematic aspect that people don't talk about. Having plastic surgery is fine and necessary in some cases, but when aggressively marketed like in countries like SK (Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico aren't that far off in terms of aggressive marketing). It's the same with medicine being marketed in the USA.
  2. I guess it's harder to find good pizza meanwhile a bad burger is still serviceable. I think the best pizza I had is better than the best burger I had. However, average burgers are better than average pizzas.
  3. I guess cakes. Some are pretty looking, but not well made. I'm not generalizing cakes. I only mean badly made ones that are well decorated. Also, I had the same problem with Japanese ramen, but I found a place that makes amazing one, so I don't think all Japanese ramen are bland. Just I only tried mediocre ones before I found the right place.
  4. People are just discussing semantics here and what they believe the term should mean. The term "big3" used by Korean media is their own and they decide how they will use it. They can assign it to whoever they think it's relevant to. If the Korean public accept/understand it is a different matter. Of course Big 3 isn't set in stone. No one will deny SM's and JYP's influence and grip in the market today. YG influence is declining. Only Blackpink is bringing some good influence meanwhile the rest of YG is just negative news after negative news. It obviously would bring some decline in their influence in the industry, so I can understand if Korean media think they aren't fit for Big 3 "title" despite still holding sizable influence. BH made a name for themselves and increased Kpop influence around the world. Their legacy from the latest years is good enough to claim the Big 3 tag IMO. It's clearly YG is skimping on music lately meanwhile BH is expanding. It's kinda funny when JYP was the clear cut 3rd place not too long ago, but times change. Just stans take change badly it seems. Pretty sure past DSP stans would have been fuming if they had social media back then. Right now the third position is kinda ambiguous. People treating BH like they are nouveau riche. For me it could be Big 4. These 4 companies are the stand outs and the fifth place is way below them to be mentioned in the same tier. Big 3 + BH is just dumb way to describe the bigger influencers. Big 4 would be a more elegant term IMO. If just two or one company stands out, we should just use Big 1 and Big 2 as well if it happens. People are too tied to numbers like Top 3/Top10 when in actuality it means jack shit without context. Kpop market is big enough to have 4 big dogs now with takes and level of influences in different areas and niches within Kpop. Dunno why be so attached to this term and its meaning as if it was set for eternity.
  5. quoting from AKP: According to the group, 'Ketchy' combines the 'ket' from 'rocket' and the 'chy' from the Korean pronunciation of 'punch.' It also reflects the English word 'catchy,' which means 'attractive' or 'appealing.' 'Ketchy' conveys that Rocket Punch's fans are an indispensable part of them.
  6. Sleep is probably the most fundamental for good health (physical and mental) and most of us all sacrifice it first like nothing.
  7. War is a business. All the worries and fears just feed the war machine for profits. There is no dumb decisions over these affairs, just dumb followers who will pay for the walls, war bonds, overpriced supplies and ammunition, and lives.
  8. I guess the biggest problem is early 20s. After a point, age difference is really not much of an issue. If you are over 30 it's like who gives a fuck if you date someone around 70s+. People raise eyebrows, but whatever. Some people may consider early 20s not that different from late 10s, so they may object any arbitrary difference they consider too big. Personally I don't care and may judge based on the specific situation and no guideline. I really don't give much a fuck about other people's relationship or what others may think about mine except my immediate family.
  9. They are doing it for the memes! JK aside, gratz to them.
  10. To be fair, most people will call most anime childish and immature if they don't lump them together with all animation is for kids. Also, HxH in theory targets kids and teens (and yeah they can take more "mature" stuff than other countries' audience and not be treated like fragile babies, proper adult material are usually bat shit insane stuff or serious takes on issues) although most Shonen Jump audience are probably around their late 10s to mid 20s.
  11. I think the police offered those alert bracelet or whatever, but they refused. I don't think the law or companies anywhere can do much against this behavior till they cross the line which is usually too late (for us they obviously crossed it already, but it can be ambiguous to the law enforcers). Hopefully both the law enforcers and security at JYP are sharp about them.
  12. Kim Jong Un-kun being tsundere toward Trump senpai again.
  13. Open container is a no-no. It depends on state laws I think.
  14. Same old rhetoric. I heard shit like this during the late 70s and early 80s. Aristotle was complaining about the youth of his day. Probably people of Ur did complain about that as well.
  15. It is used as derogatory term in some forums and YT that mocks anime/JP culture specially. I think otaku has less of a negative tone than weaboo with Westerners which is funny as this terms has negative connotations in Japan. Well, most terms could be used derogatorily like elite, conservative, liberal, and so on by people who think less of them and/or antagonistic. I guess it's the same case with Koreaboo. The fans use it themselves as an endearing term or a form to self-identification and detractors try to spin it as a negative term.
  16. I'm the same as well. I prefer to just have a few of well made ones. i may buy clothing once a year or so or if my clothing wears out.
  17. It clear that they aren't training their camera crew properly. I wonder if they lost a lot of veteran ones and the new recruits/PDs aren't up to par yet and/or management are dropping resources to this aspect of the show.
  18. Some people seem fine smoking even past 80s. Still probably they would be better off not smoking at all. However, it's hard to quantify and it's basically an exercise in "what if" scenario. Although I'm very much anti-tobacco, smoking does bring some benefits. Still smoking may be a factor, but it does affect other things in life. I don't think voice quality should be the highest concern. If the statement is correct or not due to an example, I think it shouldn't be based on just this evidence. A scientific research or professional statement would be more acceptable.
  19. I only use it for work and marketplace. in this aspect it's fine. I've never used it to pass time.
  20. Rise of Skywalker. 11/10 for its messiness. Bring a genuine SW fan with you to maximize enjoyment!
  21. I don't feel scared. I find most horror movies funny. Some may get disgusting. I may feel some dreary if the movie is atmospheric enough, but I felt more dreary by reading horror novels than watching.
  22. Sadly it won't go through the senate. Also, it won't tarnish Trump's reputation like Clinton's. Well at least it's less of a garbage fire than Star Wars!
