Most of the old Younha fans probably started with Houki Boshi, at least if you're old enough to be watching Bleach and listening to the ED tracks, or you're just a J-pop nut. That was 2005. Once news broke out that Younha came back to Korea to promote a new single (Audition) and got her first nationwide hit (Password 486), it was on! That was 2007.

I guess my point is, unless you're old enough to be watching Youtube videos back in 2005-2007, being a new fan in 2014 is probably just as cool as being a fan of her in 2005.

Just Listen EP being incredibly awesome is not exactly unpopular. I can listen to that EP all day! In fact, the whole EP was on repeat the whole day for me when it came out and even days after. It felt that good.

I know I'm being biased here, but any person who's openly promoting Younha is awesome on my book. Haha! I knew RM was an awesome dude...

The title track keeps on growing on me the more I listen to it. It's at the same level as Rain Shower for me.

I'm just glad that the collab song that's going to face the ARMY is a really strong one. It it was a typical chill song that just happens to feature some rapping on it (via RM) then that would have been "ehh", but the track challenges Younha vocally too, and it turned out great!

I sometimes underestimate the power of BTS Army and their ability to make anything trend. I was surprised for a split second that Younha's latest mini-album is trending, until I realized that RM was involved in the first track

BTW, on a different note, while I have been enjoying Younha's releases for the last two years (?), I haven't enjoyed a track as much as her Tale of Nokdu OST track since Wasted. I love that song!

The whole album is available on Spotify, which is good, cause I can listen to all of them legitimately and proceeds will go to Younha and not some Youtube video. I have yet to fully immerse myself with this album, but when I do I'll provide my ranking as well. The carrier single, while I am complaining that the voice on the track doesn't sound Younha enough, it has been repeating on my head and it actually sounds good. I already ran through the full album once and I don't have a track that really hooked me at first listen. Further assessment awaits.

I discovered Younha thru Ha:tfelt (and WG), back in 2014. I really liked the song, called the Real Reason Why We Broke Up. The Music Video and the song was awesome, the original track in the album was even better! So I had to listen her entire discography, because I really fell in love with her voice. Her earlier albums are kind of half masterpieces, half filler songs. I personally like her ballads, but crazy in love with her rockish songs.

I was really excited to hear her collaboration with Ha:tfelt and Cheetah. The song was okay, but not my favourite (but I was happy, that it wasn't some boring sad song or a cute dance, etc).

Afterwards, I didn't really see any interactions between Younha and Yeeun, I'm hoping they are...okay? I'm scared, that the song's results and the reactions from Younha's "older fans" caused some trouble in their friendship? 

 

My favourite songs from Younha are: Delete, Hero, Remember (with Tablo - oh snap! I loooooved her voice in Epik High's Umbrella, but I consider that song as one of Epik High's hits, not hers, sorry. Without the rap part, only with Younha's voice, it became a good song, not a crazy mad masterpiece. IMO.), Someday, Break Out, I like you, the entire Supersonic, Just Listen and Subsonic albums. (Well, I could imagine some songs without their rap part, but the way Younha sings her heart out, it's just so beautiful, so I still love them.)

 

So I just wanted to stop by here, after I registered to OH.

Don't worry too much about Younha and Ye-eun's friendship. 1 flop song isn't enough to break a friendship forged for over 10 years.

Great song choices, actually. I'm also a fan of that song, especially when paired with Best Friend (my favorite Younha song from the album Someday). I also share your feedback with Umbrella, and share your love for the whole Supersonic and Just Listen albums. Subsonic the album? Not so much. Subsonic the song? Hell yeah!

Hopefully the non-singing events are a sign that she'll be more active soon!

AFAIK, it's pretty big. It determines which university / college you can go based on your score. In comparison, SAT in my country, it's pointless as it's like a glorified IQ exam and is totally not a basis on which school you can go. Each university has their own entrance exam anyway, so that's the real basis.

Oh man, I missed this performance too. This is her best Subsonic performance, IMO. Either that, or this one has the best audio quality and the others were trash.

I'm surprised she had I Like You, but it's really hard to sing so the high notes were not well supported

I've been forgiving of Younha hitting high notes since the break, so the I Like You performance was actually good compared to previous performances of other songs.
