What would be the difference between those two? Bi-curious meaning she is straight but likes to flirt with women for other reasons?
-
Park sodam is so attractive, I hope she likes women. She sent yuri a ... cute
-
"baby" lol

Since people were talking about how the whole "the dreamies are too young" story might be getting repetitive, here's my opinion that no one asked for: most nct dream members are honest to god just straight and that's the reason they don't ping or have receipts, not their age.

maybe shuhua gay after all
-
That clip of Jiu kissing Dami's neck is so much. It's like I know that fanservice exists and it's not that deep and all, but at the same time wtf. What kinda straight women do kiss each other like that. Wtf. DC want me dead.

gaycatcher really out here...

Didn't someone at unpretty rapstar once imply there's he stereotype that female rappers are gay? Did I dream that up? Might be relevant to the topic on hand lmao. Also saying LGBT/gay relationships is a bad idea to portray in a conservative environment... Not necessarily, especially when it's women. We've seen cases of LGBT themes being used in a humorous light, making fun of them, I think we all are aware of the apparently omnipresent bury your gays trope, I don't think some portrayal of queer love/sex along the lines of "this is so wrong and sinful, I'm a bad girl for indulging in it" is really that far away from existing. Hell, how many straight women in the west have sung about wanting to kiss girls? How often do you see straight western women making out with other women for (male) "attention"? The whole "I wish I was a lesbian" sh*t? Plenty of non-queer-friendly reasons to write songs about queer topics. I'm not saying this is what idle are doing ofc, just that "Soyeon wrote this because she's gay" is not the only explanation for it. At least imo.

I mean I kinda agree but I wanted to say... Most gay (or "gay") stuff portrayed in kpop is queerbait. How many non-queerbaity kpop acts/performances/topics/MVs can you name? There's very few imo. I don't think this is necessarily the fault of the girls, even though it feels frustrating and shallow to me at times.

Wanted to add on this that apparently he said all of mamamoo are gay t̶e̶a̶, but about oneus which is the group he's actually worked with (which he has, even if rbw denies it), he said 4 out of 6 are gay/"f*ggots". Which is suspiciously specific. Then again, I have no doubts about him being a stupid homophobe and an asshole, so probably he just disliked 4 of them in particular and wanted to trash talk them. Either way fuck him.

I think those are more or less the usual suspects. I have to ask tho: you think Taeyong is straight?
-
Wow that's good tea! Hope she is happy with her fiancee

this is such a relatable moment of seeing female idols dance to love shot lmaooo

That "female idols who are popular with lesbians" list comes back every now and again and I'm always impressed that Krystal remains in the top 20 after 5 years inactive as an idol. She really defined a generation for queer women, lol.

To straight taeil believers I would like to ask how you make heterosexual sense of the fixation he used to have with winwin? I don't mean this in an accusatory way btw, I just genuinely can't wrap my head around him not being into guys after all that. But maybe that's me lmao

As far as I am aware their entire discography is actually gender neutral, and they never change the female pronouns in covers. Not only that, but when they covered bang bang bang they changed the lyrics BUT ONLY so they were less sexist: instead of "boys on top, girls get low" they sang "girls on top, boys get low". So if anything, I'd say they know fully well what they are doing and I am here for it.

Sua saying she wants to eat a lesbian still kills me. Also these interviews: https://7-dreamers.com/2020/02/20/19-feb-2020-ten-interview-dreamcatcher-we-dont-have-time-to-be-jealous-towards-other-girl-groups-we-need-to-promote-our-team/ Since you are considered ‘cool’ as a girl group, you have a high ratio of female fans compared to male fans. JIU: We are blessed with many women. Haha. Siyeon: The ratio of our male and female fans are around 50 to 50. I heard that it is good for girl groups to have female fans, so it feels great to see that. When we’re doing music shows, we can hear our female fans so well and it’s so cute. https://7-dreamers.com/2020/02/19/19-feb-2020-news1-dreamcatcher-our-popularity-overseas-it-is-thanks-to-our-performanceworld-buildingwe-hope-to-grow-more-influential-interview-2/ There are lots of other girl groups that have comebacks scheduled for February. How do you feel about promoting alongside them? (Sua) Every time we have a comeback, lots of girl groups hold comebacks too. We often say ‘we’re blessed with many women’ between ourselves. That said, girl groups are increasingly coming out with powerful, cool performances. It’s great. Their powerful images are amazing. "We are blessed with many women" okay lesbians.

Can I ask if you think anyone in BTS is not straight and why? Just curious about your opinion, since I think most people here think Th is gay or at least bi.
-
I mean yeah maybe not "androgynous" lmao you're right, but less femme than the average idol. At least to me, her style is remarkably not very feminine, especially in comparison to most idols.
-
Agreed. Aside from moonbyul and amber, both of who were really loved by lesbians, who is butch/masculine/tomboyish/androgynous, really? Gwsn Miya maybe, but she isn't well known. And even with the current list, Seulgi is not exactly femme either imo. She has kind of an androgynous vibe as well.

It's fair and legitimate to write about this but at the end of the day I wonder, who would be an "acceptable" representative for talking about equality at UN, as far as celebs are concerned? Is there anyone who hasn't said bigoted shit at some point in their lives, especially as teenagers? Because I sure have. I don't want to sound like I'm defending BTS' past actions/words or whatever, but I feel like regardless of who was chosen people would have had these complaints.
-
mamamoo in general get a lot of hate from homophobic/sexist men, so it's really not that surprising that moonbyul gets a lot of shit considering that -even though I agree she's not exactly "butch" per se- she is quite gender non conforming according to sk standards. In her case netizens can't pretend it's just a persona she does to please fans, because it's obvious that that's just who she is and she doesn't try to hide it, so. Deviance from the norm is socially punished, etc. also chuu gay

That whole thing is so interesting. Historians say one sure way to know what was troublesome in a society, even stuff that wasn't written about due to being taboo, is to look at which laws or edicts were passed. Because you know, people don't prohibit stuff others aren't doing. So that's hot tea.

TMI news "Female idols excluding Lee Hyori who are cooler than men" list: Hwasa Soyeon Chungha Seulgi Jennie Hyuna Jessi thoughts?
