  1. If they become popular enough in Japan they can release Japanese only songs like KARA did. Pretty much every Korean group starts going to Japan using their Korean songs with Japanese lyrics.

i hope they break thought but rock idols seem to be niche there too (other than babymetal).

i wonder if japan would be more receptive to their other songs like sleep walking or full moon

  2. piri jp version was good but i would like to see some originals songs instead of just translations,

i know is probably not going to happen because of the cost of it but one can dream rlytearpls.png

  3. new interview with BiS, if possible read it from the link, also go thank the user for always blessing us with wack translations ilikeitplz.png

BiS.LEAGUE split BiS into 2 groups, BiS1st and BiS2nd. It was announced during the 47 prefecture “I Don’t Know What Will Happen TOUR†finale at Zepp Tokyo that BiS.LEAGUE will end and BiS will return to perform as a single unit. At the same time, 5 of the 10 members were given notification that their contracts will not be renewed. Following this, and the sudden withdrawal of Nel Nehru, BiS are set to release their new single “Are you ready?†on March 20th as a 9 member group. In addition to this, BiS re-recorded their debut song [biSBiS] with all the current members. Despite all the twists and turns, BiS continues moving on to a new future, and this single is a product of that. I spoke with the now 9 members of BiS, starting a new. (Photos by Rina Asukai)

    Q. After going through BiS.LEAGUE, what are you aiming for as a group of 9 members?

Kika: We want to stabilize quickly (Laughs)

Peri: We still don’t know what’ll happen at the training camp in March.
Kika: Yeah, there are members here whose contracts won’t be renewed.

    Q. How did you all react when BiS.LEAGUE was abolished and the announcement of contracts not being renewed was made?

Peri: Well first of all we didn’t even know what ‘non-renewal of contracts’ meant (Laughs)

Aya: But I could kinda tell from the whole atmosphere that it wasn’t something good. Afterwards I looked it up on Wikipedia and realised how bad it actually is.

    Q. As soon as you think BiS.LEAGUE is finally over, another new trial is waiting.

Peri: Personally, I really didn’t want BiS to be divided into two groups. We gained more members after the training camp, so I thought we would all really try our best together for the future of BiS. It was so sad that we had to be split in two.

    Q. To all the new members, it must of really felt like you were put straight into a situation where you had to compete against each other. How did you feel, joining the group at such a time where the battle has just begun?

Hana: Mine was the first name called out to say that I’d passed, so as more and more names were called after mine. I really didn’t understand what it meant when we were so suddenly told we’d be divided into two groups.

Mewclub: Like, we couldn’t comprehend what we being said.
Hana: Since then, whenever something happens, it still feels like it was at the training camp. Because of that, I feel as if I’m completely prepared for whatever will happen.

    Q. After going through BiS.LEAGUE, do you now feel that you’re back to a singular BiS?

Aya: When we first performed live after returning to a singular BiS on January 3rd, it made me really happy to be singing together on stage with all the other members.

YUiNA: I was happy to finally be together with everyone. I thought it’d make us more luxurious.

    Aya: Luxurious?
YUiNA: Yep. I wanted us to be more luxurious.

Peri: I wonder what that even means (Laughs)

    Kika: Not a clue (Laughs)

Muro: Well, of course, I wanted to become a stable unit too.

    Q. I wonder what will happen at the next training camp, I guess that’s something impossible to predict right now.

Muro: I actually see it more like another chance. By participating in the training camp, aren’t you gaining more attention? I mean, because we’re not a part of any future plans, we stand out from the other participants, so I see it as a chance against adversity and a way for BiS to expand.

    Q. Aya, even though you came in 2nd place during BiS.LEAGUE, you were also announced as one who’s contract will not be getting renewed

Aya: When we were first told I just thought, “What are you saying?†because I didn’t understand what it meant. But I then figured that there’s no choice but to enjoy things, whatever the situation may be. Besides, I’ll be participating in the training camp, and all 9 of us will definitely be there together, as BiS, for the results at the WACK EXHiBiTiON.

    Q. Battling it out during BiS.LEAGUE has made your bonds deeper. Just like when Son Goku fights Piccolo and Vegeta, you’ve built a real relationship of trust.

Go Zeela: That’s right. Although I wish during BiS.LEAGUE I could have fought better against the other members.

    Q. Your song, Go Zeela, ‘They’re Gonna Get You One of These Days’ was kind of like a declaration of war.

Go Zeela: Ahahaha. Throughout BiS.LEAGUE it was like a switch was quickly turned on. When we first started out 47 prefecture tour we were just BiS, but after June when we split into BiS1st and BiS2nd, it changed into a 2 group tour. Everyday was a fight. But thanks to that I was able to face how I felt up, until that point, “I don’t feel like trying to winâ€. I figured it’s not good to think of this situation as a light hearted competition and to just enjoy it, instead it’s something that you have to work hard for and be serious about it, otherwise there’s no point. As time went on, my feelings of not wanting to lose to either BiS1st or BiS2nd only strengthened.

    Q. After all the various experiences you’ve had, you can really feel a sense of “this is a 9 member BiSâ€, especially in the re-recording of ‘BiSBiS’. No matter what when you listen to ‘BiSBiS’ the lyrics always fit the situation. Everytime I sing it, I can always feel the feelings of BiS. It’s strange.

Peri: I know exactly what you mean. The lyrics of ‘BiSBiS’ are really amazing.

Muro: When Nel left and we went down to 9 members, I was so sad, my heart was restless. But during the live we did on January 3rd, where we performed ‘BiSBiS’ 3 consecutive times, I remember Peri shouting her line, “there’s a lovely story~!†No matter how many changes BiS goes through, “no matter how many times it takes, my heart will keep dancing†really is exactly right. BiS.LEAGUE was definitely tough at times, but there were also many thrilling moments too.

    Q. I’m sure from here on out, there will be all sorts of things going on, but BiS is able to overcome them every time and start a new. That’s what I think at least. And so your new song featuring all 9 of you, “Are you ready?†is here. The song is really just too amazing.

Kika: It really is amazing, isn’t it!

Peri: Have you listened to all of it?

    Q. Of course. The first transition part is amazing. And long.

Kika: Ahahaha. It is 11 minutes and 24 seconds long.

Pan: When I first heard the song, I was so deeply moved

    Q. The song is like a homage to QUEEN that’s exploded from someone’s head. It’s kinda crazy to have the link between the song being 11 minutes and 24 seconds long, and the anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s death, being November 24th - 11/24.

Peri: When I first found that out, I got goosebumps.

    Q. Similarly, X JAPAN released the album “Ja,Zoo†after the death of bandmate Hide, with the total album length being the date of his death. I can really feel the love in using that concept.

Peri: Holy shit. I just got goosebumps again.

    Q. It feels like there are actually many songs within this one song, the whole concept is really interesting.

Kika: Isn’t 11 minutes a bit too long? But since the tune changes with each section, you can’t get tired of listening to it.

Hana: I listened to it as I was leaving home, and before I knew it I was already at the train station (Laughs)

    Q. It’s like a whole album within one song. Each of your personalities really show through as well, all 9 of you.

Kika: Every members’ character really comes out. If you can imagine choreography as you’re listening to the song, I think you can really understand where BiS is right now.

    Q. I started laughing when I heard the song start with a QUEEN homage, “Papa~â€

Kika: Our “Papa†surely has to be about Watanabe (WACK)

Pan: “Hey, Papa, is it OK to kill?†is really amazing.

YUiNA: Before recording, we all went together to go see the Bohemian Rhapsody movie.

Hana: I went to see the film for this song, I was actually seriously moved by it, it inspired me.

Peri: While watching the movie, Aya said “Let’s become QUEEN†(Laughs)

Aya: Yeah, let’s become QUEEN. We’ll go beyond being idols, we’ll be QUEEN without instruments.

Muro: Hey, do an impression of Freddie!

    Aya: (Imitates his face)

    Peri: Ahahaha.

Aya: They won’t be able to put this in the interview, though (Laughs) What a waste! (Everyone laughs)

    Q. This song really covers a lot of ground, but the lyrics are complete chaos. “We’re stimulating the radio now†is certainly mysterious.

Pan: We’re actually singing about ir〇atio

    Hana: Radio! ir〇atio

Aya: Do you actually know what ir〇atio means?

    Q. Um.. what are you talking about? (Laughs)

Hana: I had heard of the word before, but didn’t know that it was a dirty joke.

Peri: I think I’d kinda heard of it before, but didn’t know what it meant. I thought it was like ‘pistachio’ of something.

Pan: I thought it was the name of a country or something.

Muro: I get it. Brazil, Ecuador, ir〇atio - that kinda thing.

Pan: It sounded like the name of a football player!

Kika: Ahahaha. I’ve heard footballers are good!

Peri: I really didn’t understand it at all.

    Q. Watanabe and Matsukuma (SCRAMBLES) really are bad, making you sing words you don’t know what they mean (Laughs)

Peri: Even though we didn’t know the meaning, we were all able to imagine it.

Muro: I just felt sorry for those people. If anyone who does that sort of thing is reading this, I will stop you from coming.

Kika: How are you going to stop them? (Laughs)

    Q. Can you all stop talking about this and be idols for once? (Laughs)

Kika: But of course, they all get excited over dirty jokes (Laughs)

    Q. Well I guess this song is very much like BiS, especially with it’s timing, to be breaking such things down. When another song like “Against the Pain†comes out, I’ll have no heart left (Laughs)

Go Zeela: At times like this, with such things like the non-renewal of contracts happening, you can sing BiS-like songs. (Laughs)

    Q. Watanabe’s lyrics are what you’d call reality I guess, very documentary-like, almost too much? I’ll keep looking for any other hints about the future hidden within this song.

Go Zeela: Weren’t they written about the results of the training camp though?

Hana: Maybe you read them upside down!

Mewclub: If you read them diagonally, they might read “everyone transfers†or something

    Aya: That’s scary! (Everyone laughs)

    Q. I think the training camp in March will be great for the future activities of BiS, it’ll truly be a training camp. Can you please tell me how you’re feeling as of now.

Peri: We still don’t know what will happen during the training camp, but no matter what happens, even if everyone goes, I still want there to be a future. It would be good if someone joins, but I’ll be doing my best to ensure our numbers don’t decrease any further.

Kika: I said before that I “want us to stabilizeâ€, but now I don’t think there’s any need for that. Because that itself is inherently BiS-like. No matter what happens in the future, I want to become someone that can truly entertain Researchers (collective name for BiS fans).

Pan: The temporary title for “Are you ready?†was originally “10 Person Rhapsodyâ€. I think that Watanabe and Matsukuma felt that they wanted to symbolize the current BiS, because we’re still positive despite decreasing by 1 member. The 9 of us all want to make BiS complete now. We want to further build up the best, cohesive version of BiS.

Aya: I’m perfectly happy to be in a 9 member BiS. If it wasn’t with these 9 people, I think things would be worse. We don’t know what will happen with the training camp yet, for myself or for BiS, but I will continue on as I am.

YUiNA: Since there’ll be a lot of participants at the training camp, I’ve been thinking hard about how to make BiS more appealing, how to make myself more appealing. By working hard on what I do now, I want to challenge myself at the training camp.

Mewclub: “Are you ready?†means ‘are you ready?’. We want to be able to pull Researchers in and say “Are you ready?†but I also want all 9 of us to hone our personalities and grow together as BiS.

Hana: 4 BiS members are participating in the training camp, so that’s 4 people to bring in new fans, 4 people to help the other candidates. I’d like for all 4 of us to come back to BiS.

Go Zeela: I want to live with my real face. I think one of the great things about BiS is its humanity. I want to give courage and hope to everyone, so I will continue doing my best.

Muro: I want to become someone that helps people “stay strongâ€. Like when a businessman is struggling or being scolded by his boss, they can listen to BiS and feel that.

Go Zeela: Why is it just limited to businessmen? (Laughs)

Muro: I didn’t mean it like that! That was just an example! Even when I’m out of strength, or don’t yet know the right answer, I just want to ensure that all those who support BiS are having fun, so I’ll keep working hard to entertain. I want to give people courage and good spirits. No matter the situation, even when I’m at the training camp, I want to make sure BiS can entertain.

  4. I imagine that idols do get allowance but that allowance is also added to the debt which includes training fees, accommodation, transport, promotional stuff, etc. Hence I'm not surprised many idols don't gain any profit.

that sounds almost like a debt trap, you don't get pay because you owe them money so they give you a salary

but that is also added to your debt, so you never really get to paid it back unless you hit it big

i know this is a business but... idol life is scary 0u0plz.png

  5. you often hear idols say they didn't get paid. even if they get a salary, the check could be 0 dollars. i saw an interview a while back where the companies essentially take money directly out of their paycheck for expenses. thus they get "paid' but they don't get PAID. just depends on how shady the company is.

despite minx failure happyface give the girls another change instead of just give them the boot

and they took yg to court for the mix9 fiasco too, so they do strike me as a half decent company

  6. i've always felt like companies treat it like college and treat the idols like "student athletes". They expect the trainees to pay into the institution while the company makes all the money off the labor. IMO it's criminal if they withhold a check after debut.

they may don't get money from activities but i want to believe that they are getting at least a salary

its hard to think that they not only are not being pay but even burning their own money rlytearpls.png
