I would be surprised if it was any other member, but it's Tao so I expect this kinda stuff from him. I always figured with his personality, he'd be the one that has that high class celeb circle.

Omg, Sehun is so lucky to be close to Tao...he gets access to all these big shot Chinese celebs. Guys, do you know how big Hxm and Angelababy are in China? So lucky!
-
No, EXO aren't big stars in China. Their popularity is more of a niche base consisting of mainly teenagers, alot of China still doesn't know EXO that well and they're not the force intl fans try to play them up as. But they're seen as up and coming so they have potential and Tao is just really good at making connections with those he meets at these events. Basically he knows how to network, it doesn't really have as much to do with EXO's status in China. Plus him and hxm are from the same hometown so that helps, he even talked about Tao on his instagram back in Jan.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
lovergurl replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I've watched his reactions on Kpop videos before (he's hilarious) and man does he have a hard on for Tao (he loves Chen too but not sexually). It's funny to watch him talk about Tao in his videos. -
Sehun is gorgeous but I'm more jealous of him because he gets dat body those eyes dat ass I'll stop, but I think you get the point Anyways, both are lucky...no matter what relationship status they have. And probably, watching each other take photos most likely isn't anything new to them.

140310 A fan was waiting for Sehun under the SM building, after encountering a few other trainees and staff, she finally saw Tao come down with Sehun. They then returned inside the building. (this is summarised) Before they went up, there was someone in the practice room on the 2nd floor. The windows were shut but after they were up there the left window was opened by someone. Then I heard Tao (occasionally with Sehun mixed) A /concert/ that lasted nearly 2 hours. This kid [Tao] [sang] from Korean (officially missing you, crooked, missing you, and some others that I didn't know) to Chinese (easy come easy go, I never told you, 我爱å°å¦¹ [i love taiwanese girls], Boy'z songs and others little parts, repeatedly singing "I'm a cheap man ?" just some bizarre song ==) Anyways, [they] sung until nearly 3am, before I was about to be frozen to death, they came out. Sehun opened the door. I shouted "Sehun good night" and "Huang Zitao take care of your body". They then got in the car, after getting into the car, Tao got his phone and placed it on the window, on it was the official photo of him and Sehun in Qingdao. cr: akane_summer trans: @taohae Taohun for The CELEBRIT [140311]

I don't know, they were really close pre-debut and they managed fine enough being separated for most of 2012 (though it seemed to hit Tao harder than the other members, I remember he said the thing he missed the most while being separated in sub-units was eating a meal with Sehun). But then maybe their relationship has taken a different form since then so it might be harder? Hmm, it'll be interesting nonetheless if they were to be separated. As much as I find Taohun cute though, I would really appreciate an OT6 comeback...or atleast as much time spent in China in 2014 as they did Korea in 2013 either as a sub-unit or OT12.

He's monitoring him? That's hella cute

~*~The Official Tom and Jerry AKA TaoHan Thread~*~
lovergurl replied to ~ b l a s i a n ~'s topic in Couples/OTPs
I don't know why but I just love this gif set. It's such a great representation of their relationship -
People mean they're promoted in the sense that they'll be the ones paired up when doing things like the sunny10 CF, the lotte mag photoshoot, the celebrity photoshoot, the community service event where there were like 48734854 pictures of Taohun doing everything together, official photos from Mnetwide using Taohun as promotion, official photos from MAMA awards of Taohun being posted etc. I mean there has literally been a ton of these official media outlets that will specifically make it a point to pair up Tao and Sehun together, which they don't really do for the any other pairings as much of (anymore atleast). Their actual interactions in these events and how they spend their downtime though, I don't think anyone thinks is not genuine. I don't think SM has anything to do with how touchy they are or how they choose to spend their time together and I don't think anyone really questions that. But it can't be a coincidence that all this Taohun in their promotional activities is happening. Plus they have alot to gain from the pairing. Tao is top 2 or 3 most popular in China/Japan and has a huge fanbase in Asian countries in general, Sehun is popular enough in Korea and has gained alot of popularity in China because of his relationships with China line. Putting them together helps both crossover to their individual fandom and gain popularity in a country one half of the pair might not have as much of. That's kinda why a K/M pairing would always be preferred over an M/M or K/K pairing, it helps both members out in both countries and also feeds into the whole "We are One" thing going on. Taohun is actually really marketable for several reasons.
-
Yea, that's true that there are established pairings already so yes they will get hate but because those pairings have kind of died down along the years, their fans have dwindled as well and after awhile there isn't much they can do if their pairings aren't the big thing anymore. I mean Taohun's Chinese fanbase is already growing alot based on weibo eventhough they were getting some hate a month ago. After awhile, most people will jump on the bandwagon or atleast their fanbase will be so big that the minority who don't like them won't be able to do anything. Yunjae wasn't the initial pairing either, they grew for similar reasons as Taohun and now no one even remembers that other pairings were promoted before them. It's easy to tell when something is too fanservicy or forced with pairings (Hunhan was unbearable for that reason imo) so I think it'll be clear if they were to force those interactions but neither seem the type to do that imo.
-
I don't think there is anything to worry about. Honestly, if an SM pairing goes sour, I think it has less to do with SM promoting them and more to do with the two individual's natural progression in their relationship. While SM does promote pairings, I don't think they force any of them to do anything they don't want to do nor do I think they tell them to do specific things other than just to interact together. They seem to go based on already set friendships that fans have picked up on and they just put a spotlight on it because they know it's what people want to see, but I don't think they necessarily force these pairings to interact in a way they don't want to. Yunjae, Jongkey, and TaeNy pairings...if there was any riff, I sense it's mainly because something else happened in their relationship outside of any company stuff (except for the obvious reasons of Yunjae). Whereas you have Eunhae who basically ship themselves but their friendship has never changed, they were best friends from the beginning and they're still best friends now so none of the OTP stuff got in the way of their friendship. I think anything they do, they do it because fans like it and most importantly because they actually want to do it. I think Taohun will be similar. They won't do anything that they don't feel like doing, but people want to see more of them so SM is putting them out there. I don't think anything in their dynamic will change because of it, just the size of the pairing fanbase will get bigger because more people notice them now. If anything does change, I think it'll be more due to fans than anything SM ever does. But I wouldn't worry about them, I don't think they'll be a time when you have to question if their actions are genuine or not when you have someone like Tao involved in a pairing. People are looking at it from the viewpoint of SM making them interact in strategic ways and I honestly think it's more they're just letting them run free and be how they always are...but with more cameras now.
-
Well, the thing with Taohun is that regardless of whether they're being promoted or not, they'd be attached to the hip anyways. So with them there isn't any kind of force because they both naturally like clinging on to each other. Plus I feel like given the fact that Tao is involved, it's safer to assume that anything they do isn't for fanservice bc it's Tao and he doesn't really ever do anything that he doesn't want to do. Everything is more genuine from him, and Sehun too actually. So the way I see it, I think it's more they're bringing Taohun's natural chemistry/relationship to the forefront and giving it attention without actually telling them to change their ways...know what I mean? Like they're probably just letting Taohun do as they've always done and not change a thing, but just put a spotlight on it so more people notice instead of just a few. I have to say, it's working. I feel like everyday there's an explosion of new Taohun shippers because everyday there's something new ya know?
-
Yea, but most of the other pics of the other members were of them individually whereas Taohun had alot of pictures together as a pairing...I think they may have even had the most pictures of the bunch. Anyways, in their case I think they're being pushed moreso because of their natural friendship and chemistry. I think they've picked up on the fact that that people like the pairing so they're probably just using it to their advantage. Like giving people what they wanna see kind of thing. And considering every SM group has the one main OTP people go cray over, I have a feeling that they're trying to make Taohun that pairing for EXO since the whole Hunhan thing was a bust and they have more to work with here.
-
Yea, they're definitely trying to push them as a pairing for sure now. This is like the 4th or 5th media outlet that's kinda highlighted those two together in the past few weeks.
-
Aww, that's usually a Taoris thing. Cute.
-
Their relationship kinda reminds me of Heechul and Hangeng but more touchy and clingy.

But if you know the person you're saying it to does not take offense to it or does not view it negatively, then how is it considered offensive? Whether someone views certain words (like bitch, queer, and fag) offensively is subjective, thus whether the word is actually offensive is subjective because everyone doesn't take certain words to mean in the literal definition. Certain words take up different meanings along the way in society. You can't always interpret it but you can the majority of the time. Plus like I said, alot of the time it really depends on the context of which the word is said and by whom. Most people know when to say certain things and when not to and who they can say it to. -
Have they had recent moments? I feel like I haven't seen much of them since the MAMA era (as with most Lay ships).

Doesn't mean it's wrong either. If the individual doesn't find it offensive, then I don't think there is anything wrong with it...that's what matters in the first place. It all depends on how you see it I guess. The offensiveness of certain terms is subjective. Eh, to me it's all about the intention behind it. You can change the meaning of a word through time anyways, it doesn't have to stay a derogatory term. It happens all the time in language. -
That looks so creepy. But this reminds me, Tao and Tang Wei looked surprisingly good together. Weird, I didn't think I'd say that about Tao with a female.

Interesting. Well there are certain terms that had negative connotation associated with it but have become so widely used in a more positive way that most just don't see it as offensive anymore (given the intention behind it of course). Personally, I think that's nice...to turn something negative into positive. Well, it's not really a gay culture thing. It's more of a younger generation thing. Having experienced different social circles, many use terms like that on the regular because it's socially acceptable now, gay or not. -

Never? You've never said like "she's a bad bitch" or "that's my bitch" in the way you would say like "that's my girl/homie"?
