ppl are guessing that '19's kitsch' is a substitute for the original english demo saying '90s bitch' which would make sense

I'd stay it's definitely more of a Korean thing than any other group just from what I've seen like in a group of black people there will be one or two people clapping but with Koreans it's like 9/10 of them. The black laughter stereotype I've heard most often is running/walking away after a joke lol.

Who do you think is a lesbian in kpop?

does anyone here follow or have thoughts on tripleS? -
There's a difference between general knowledge of events and knowledge of symbols though tbf, like the majority of Americans know that Japan was involved in ww2 but most probably wouldn't recognize the rising sun flag and it's use in the west only started to get called out in the past 5 years or so. I'm sure you could still find some generic 'Asian inspired' design that uses the symbol in various shops and restaurants. The nazi statue that Sowon posed with was on display in a very popular 'European style' cafe in Korea that was featured in Goblin. If the imagery was seen identically in Korea as it is in the U.S or Europe it would have never been displayed in the first place. Just as that shirt wouldn't have been sold in Asia. I don't think Chaeyoung or Sowon are off the hook because of that since they have an international audience and again I don't buy the buddhist explanation. But there is a difference in how much emphasis is put on the western side of the war and the symbols, just as less emphasis is put on the eastern side here. If knowledge was the same then Sowon and Chaeyoung would have just straight up been revealing themselves as alt-righters by posting what they did, the same way they would be if they wore a rising sun which I doubt was the intention. Chaeyoung also started training in sixth grade so...

tbh if more schools implement this I could see it having the side effect of making teachers more scared to report or take early action against bullying because if they do the parents will immediately blow up at them for ruining their little angel's future. Punishment for perpetrators won't be enough to solve the problem.

Yeah but it's sadly not out of the ordinary for Japan/other Asian countries to not care about Nazi symbols https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_chic#Asia https://qz.com/928440/asias-disturbing-embrace-of-nazi-chic-is-prompting-a-nonprofit-to-teach-holocaust-history https://www.cnn.com/2016/12/27/asia/taiwan-nazi-school-asia/index.html

I think the fact that both apologies specify 'tilted swastika' means that they're trying to imply she thought it was the buddhist swastika which is not tilted and still displayed in buddhist temples across Asia including SK. It's a big stretch of an explanation bc why would Chae think a british punk shirt had a buddhist symbol on it? I think she just assumed that since it was from a popular band whatever was on it couldn't be that offensive. Basically 'everyone else is doing it/no one around me said anything' mentality which is dumb. Apparently it's rare on the english internet but easier to find knockoff versions in Asia, fans are guessing she got hers for like $20 bucks on a Japanese punk site that she's bought other clothes from. Not that it makes it better that she wore it but seems like she's less of a die-hard Sid fan than she would be if she bought it for whatever insane price it's at on ebay.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
AstroBaby replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I feel like the fact that they're obviously playing into it (Hanbin literally shouting out the ship name in his comments) means it's fairly unlikely there are actual feelings involved. You could argue the young and dumb thing but they're not teenagers and as others have pointed out are fairly calculated in what they present on the show. I think they're just two gay men who clicked together really well as friends and decided to lean into their relationship to maximize their chances of debuting together, and making it so their fanbases don't fight w each other as much since they could easily be framed as rivals. His mom posting those thing shows that the friendship is genuine and not just for the cameras, which is nice. It's possible I might find them more sus once they debut together but for now I'd say it's a mix of actual friendship and their mutually crafted storyline. -
I'm pretty sure mnet (and maybe Yuehua) feel the same way and are trying to cut down Gyuvin's screentime and just have Yujin and Zhang Hao. 1/3 of the group being under the same company would be kinda crazy and if Ricky and/or Seungeon also got in YH would probably just buy the rest of the group at that point. The f4 on the kside is voted for as a group and he has the least 1picks of them, but I doubt he'll drop out of the top 9 entirely.

tbh someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Taeyeon got veneers likely because of her diet of sweets meant her teeth wouldn't hold up well and it's possible a lot of idols are experiencing gradual yellowing because of coffee and cigarettes, which explains why even idols with fairly straight/normal teeth are getting them later in their career. It's a pretty extreme measure imo but it kinda makes sense.- 26,481 replies
