this taemin comeback has really got everyone fighting. first armys now lyons. because of libido.. a lot of lyon and shawols are squabbling over how ooo were treated with that concept vs taemin doing it etc.

well that's a very silly comparison to make because ooo's hate for libido came from the choreography and the song title not the fact that it had guys in a river. Also because ooo were a new group most people assumed they didn't have power over the gay/sexual concept and were just doing it for noise marketing whereas Taemin has a more than 10 year career and obviously has a much larger degree of creative control.

Honestly... Minsung is Very Sus for me, and now even more after the lyrics from their new song, of course there's the possibility of It Being fanservice, but Han even mentions the cosmos flower in the song ( Lee know's birth month flower ) like... Who the hell would know or remember something like that and put it in a song Just for fanservice ???

I mean if the fans know and remember it than it's not like super obscure information and therefore can be used as fanservice. It's not really anymore effort than remembering a zodiac sign or MBTI of someone you know, also kpop lyrics love flower imagery.

I'm expecting more S.E.S songs to be remade tbh, at this point I kinda see SM trying to remake some old SNSD songs that maybe weren't appreciated back then but have huge potential this gen

I could definitely see Baby Baby being remade for the smngg since it's likely they'll have a more girls next door image than aespa.

She's a couple years older than the group so I wonder if she was yet another victim of a company kicking trainees out for being "too old" that's getting pretty common these days (JYP, Cube, etc). It's nice that the Produce series always has at least one or two "older" contestants and that age doesn't seem to be as much of a hindrance on these shows.

Produce Japan has always had a pretty reasonable age range for auditions (15 to 27) maybe because they want to distinguish themselves from the typical j-idol image which leans very young. I was slightly disappointed by there only being one 90s contestant and only two my age ('00) but it's nice that everyone's at least high school age.

humm🤔 also, Do you have any opinion on ONEUS?

Recently Cravity and Oneus videos caught my eyes and somehow pinged me. (I don't know much about them, just wanted to see if others have any opinion about them too.)

ik in Oneus Hwanwoong has been suspected on here since Produce idk about the rest, and Cravity has been brought up here and a lot of people consider them one of the gayest 4th gen groups.

Vernon is another one that i suspect is queer from seventeen...

He listens to Caroline polachek, Charli xcx, fka twigs, Kim petras, rina sawayama, slayyter...

Blonde from Frank ocean is his favorite album

And also recomended the movie "moonlight" ( this movie is SO good, watch It, lgbt masterpiece )

    But I don't think that he's gay.... Maybe bi/pan ???

Even the woman Vernon is/was rumored to be dating (Rakta) is bi which is interesting as bi people who are straight relationships are often in them with other bi people.

Do you Guys think that If a male idol listens to troye Sivan It can be an indicator that he's queer himself ? I haven't seen a single straight Guy that genuinely listens to troye sivan's music

considering that there's decent amount of Korean Troye listeners who were absolutely freaked out by the Rush mv and every article about Sam Smith gets a 'hul..he's gay???' comment I don't think so. If they seem to be a really big fan maybe but just recommending a few songs seems par for the course for most k-idols.

  8. Key listed his favorite dongsaengs in his interview with Bambam and said

    1. Renjun because he reminds Key of his younger self

    2. Seo Bum-june

    3. Ten

    4. Bambam because he was there and asked to be 4th

    5. Chenle because he'd get pouty if not mentioned

edit: the clown? I'm literally just saying what he said in the video. Obviously being friends with a gay person doesn't automatically make someone gay but it's definitely more relevant than eye contact or skinship.

i could see an idol coming out if they were a foreign idol and left the industry or they were a korean idol but they moved out of korea and also left the industry (although it may be harder for them to completely disconnect from it as i know ex-idols tend to move on to variety, switch labels and still work in kpop, promote in korea in general etc) just because it would likely be safer to do so but even then these instances seem rare so that likely wouldn't happen anytime soon

I could see that being Kevin Woo since he's moved into Broadway/the American entertainment industry and has also been openly supportive these past few years or the other Kevin if/when The Boyz disbands in 5+ years or so as he mostly has a international fanbase anyways who already see him as gay.

Despite Key being pretty obvious and outspoken in some ways in other ways he very much tries to be the traditional Korean filial son plus he's still very conscious of the image of Shinee as a group so I don't see him being the first idol to come out barring very dramatic circumstances.

  10. I think the only reason a idol might come out apart from the what's already been said would be if something really bad happened like a big celebrity being outed or a national headline type hate crime/bullying story could push gay celebrities to come out as a show of solidarity (I could especially see this pushing someone like Jokwon whose very outspoken). But I hope those things won't happen anytime soon.

I've identified as gay for a significant part of my life, and I firmly believe that Joshua is also gay, regardless of the numerous rumors circulating within the K-pop community. Perhaps they're just close friends for crying out loud. My track record in correctly identifying individuals like Lee Pace, Richard Armitage, Luke Evans, Kirsten Stewart, and Chloe Mertz as LGBTQ+ hasn't let me down yet. It's a source of amusement for me, really! 😄

Not going to comment on Joshua but who else in the korean industry do you think are gay?

His chin looks less recessed than it used to but I can't tell

Korean comments are say it's because of dental work he got done on to correct his overbite.

Which male idols do y'all think are popular among LGBT men within the Korean entertainment industry? Like receive confessions often?

From Seventeen I can definitely see it being Jeonghan and Mingyu. Mingyu seems to have many fanboys

From NCT I can see Jaemin, Jaehyun, Jeno, Ten being popular

In Exo its obviously DO. He's a dude magnet. But at one point Baekhyun, Kai and Sehun also had many fanboys. Remember the infamous Chinese fanboy who admitted to having a wet dream about Sehun? lol

Key has been linked to other male entertainers more than most other 'obvious' idols. He seems like the type to initiate a lot and is somewhat intimidating but he's also obviously a very magnetic and life of the party type person so I think a lot of people would approach him as well. He's also in the sweet spot of having all the typical 'gay' interests/references but not being super femme the way a lot of gay guys don't like compared to like Woonggi or Jokwon.

I also think Taeyong from nct would be popular and Astro Moonbin always had a ton of male fans probably more than Eunwoo even. I also think current suspicious line in zb1 (Jiwoong, Hao, Hanbin, Taerae) would all get attention as well I mean Jiwoong already had everyone throwing themselves at him and Woonggi was obsessed with Taerae.

I didnt watch the show, but it seems like almost no one is happy with this lineup. I wonder how it may impact the reception they'll get once the debut. Either way, good luck to these girls and to those who did not make it.

Apparently they announced last minute that only the top two girls would be decided by fan votes and the rest would be chosen by the judges/company and they made it so that kvotes counted for 70% and then had an additional round of live voting that only koreans could participate in (despite the show having basically no buzz over there) which meant that the lineup was guaranteed to have the visual members that the kfans liked and than whatever the company wanted (which was other teenage visuals/dancers). Honestly it sounds like they would have been better off not doing a survival and just releasing a predebut show since they clearly had a vision from the beginning that did not match what the audience ended up seeing.

I doubt that this is the main reason. MBLAQ have been dead for so long that probably the fans either left kpop or become fans of another group and ciipher (correct me if i am wrong on this) is not that well know and probably don't have this many fans to make this commotion.

Don't get me wrong but I would expect this reactions for a group that is more well known and with a bigger fandom that would attend the festival, not one that is not that known and didnt even attended kcon. i really doubt that ciipher fandom would buy kcon tickets just to do this

So i have to conclude that it's most likely new kpop stans that dont know him and like to be disrespectful to older kpop artists/groups (the ones that think idols over 30 years are "hags" and should be retired already 🙄)

I stan many old groups and unfortunately is not that shocking to me those reactions turned to 1st and 2nd generation artists.
It also dont help that Rain is not anymore that popular with international kpop stans so he probably didn't had that many fans there that was attending for him

Keita who was a Ciipher member competed on Boys Planet and was one of the most popular contestants globally and if not for kvotes having additional weight would have been a ZB1 member. There were a lot of viral tweets from the ZB1 fandom saying to not support Rain for his mistreatment of ciipher/Keita. 30 year old Taemin made the crowd go crazy.

Hi. I just wanted to confirm something.

I do remember Jungkook once revealing that he wrote a fanfic of him and Namjoon on some Korean fanfic site. I remember him saying it and people talking about it but it was a long time ago. Now I'm trying to look for it and found nothing. Did this happen? Did he really say this, or is my mind playing games with me?

iirc it was Yoongi who talked about writing fanfic as a teenager but it didn't involve bts members, but I could be thinking of something else

yeah i was thinking about that too LMAO. they're rumoured to have been together since at least 2020 which means them dating back when that happened is possible (if this is even true at all). can't believe it took so long for this to all spill out though - once again, if it's true because i swear people keep trying to debunk it and whatever

yeah initially people were saying it was just an obsessive fan buying the same things to make it seem like they were dating (which tbf has happened before) but I don't think Joshua's mom would be hanging out with a random fangirl so that sealed it for me.
