  1. Granted Lim Kim has a much more velvety timbre, but I think that Dara could employ a similar singing style. It's sort of exampled in 'do you love me', although her lines in that song don't sound that good, the style is more what I'm making reference to. If you go and look at 2NE1's live performance of Lonely with Sungha Jung (or whatever his name was) she sings her part without the layering in the background, and it sounds lovely. It it really depends if that style can be properly injected into a 2NE1 song though I guess. Side note, her parts in I Love You were also great, she should do that more too.
  2. Every group has haters. The bigger the group, the more haters they get. Honestly I feel sorry for them. Life must be hard being so hateful.
  3. Add [ img ] link [ /img ] no spaces. As for Dara, given the right song her voice is amazing, like in ugly. Lim Kim is an artist I like to make a parallel with, she has a simple, soft voice and is really popular. It's just that 2NE1s genre and Dara's best signing style don't often match up.
  4. The image I based it on was really bright so it was kinda hard :/ Better?
  5. I wonder if we'll ever see a song written by CL and composed by Bom... I really want them to take more creative freedom with their songs.
  6. Agree completely. I could see Bom tackling some slower, deeper songs really well.
  7. Adele sings with a very constricted throat. She may have good control but her singing isn't entirely healthy. Lee Hi's voice is still developing, if she undergoes good vocal training she will far surpass Adele in a few years.
  8. I think she could do a slow version like Lee Hi did on KPOP star. Some of the runs in the fast version might be too much for her, but otherwise I think she could do it well. And also, I want CL to do more Nicki Minaj covers with her own lyrics. And, if CL ever gets an album I want Mademoiselle Yulia on one of the tracks.
  9. I wonder if BH will continue to do english covers... I'd really love to hear Bom sing a slow version of Rolling in the Deep.
  10. Minzy and CL have improved tremendously since debut, and Dara doesn't display any problems with her vocals, they're just simple. CL is still improving, have you noticed how every performance of 'Missing You' her geuriwohaeyo became a bit less strained? Bom does have issues, but the fact is her tone colour and articulation (the main things people complain about) are the same as they were five years ago. Her voice HAS lost range and control, no doubt, but her vocal problems are generally exaggerated. Her vocal cords aren't going to jump out and strangle her. There is a possibility she may damage her voice, but to what extent no one can really say.
  11. Really? They're not doing a very good job in that case... How long has she had lessons? Then again, I have noticed that although Bom's voice hasn't got any better recently, it hasn't got any worse either. My hope is one day she fixes at least a few of her issues, I love the way she sounds either way, my fear is that she might do damage to her voice though. I haven't studied vocals or anything though so it's hard to say really.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bom's voice, and the way she sings, but there are several issues with her technique that worry me. A lot of them could be rectified with some vocal lessons though. And no one can dance and sing perfectly, but that's not the issue that Bom has. Even when in an optimal position for singing she still has problems with breath control. It's not an uncommon thing. Even Brown Eyed Girls' Narsha has occasional problems with her breath control, and she is an excellent singer.
  13. Honestly I think the cover was fine, and the original song is just kinda boring.
  14. It's a slow song, so Bom could probably handle it. One of her main technique flaws is taking in way too much air to produce notes, which causes her to run out of breath, but seeing as it's slow she should have enough time to get her breathing under control. As for the high notes, I really couldn't say. There are some days where Bom can do high notes well enough (with a considerable amount of vocal tension though), and other times where her voice is just too strained. I love her to death, but I do wish she'd get some of these technical issues under control.
  15. I don't see Bom's accent as a problem, it just adds to her unique tone. And even in Korean she produces sounds in an odd way, I think it's more to do with her vocal timbre and articulation than any speech problems or language barriers.
  16. I thought she was fluent? I think her english is pretty good, she just has a very curious way of pronouncing things. For one thing, she pronounces 'ing' rather than 'in' which is uncommon in english kpop songs.
