  1. I think I read something about Pledis holding auditions for something. Then again, it's Pledis....
  2. I hate that there is so much uncertainty right now. Basically, we are running on theories right now. I really hope we get some sort of confirmation that this group is going to happen to ease my mind. I'm relatively new to the kpop world, but I know the dungeon is a very real thing. If I was Mashiho, the first thing I'd do after finding out I, unjustifiably, didn't make the treasure box group would be to ask someone in charge, why? If their answer is anything besides this potential j-group or what his best interests are, then he needs to leave ASAP. Obviously YG doesn't have his best interest at heart with how horribly he shafted him. That would be my first sign. If there is no promise of a j group then he should try and find a new agency quickly while his popularity is still fresh. Casuals will calm down and forget after awhile. I can't help but be interested in him trying for Cube knowing that Guanlin and Seonho's upcoming group is almost guaranteed to be successful. Honestly, that goes for anyone in team J. I really want them all to be successful and to be able to follow their careers. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  3. I had to go back and listen to the OST because all I could remember of it was that it was really good. I wouldn't worry about the new solo at all! In fact, he's using the best technique I've heard from him yet. He's flipping into his head voice on the high notes which takes off a lot of the pressure on the vocal cords. His core is a lot more grounded and balanced as well. I don't hear him reaching for notes even when he's in chest voice. Another positive (I suppose....) is that he probably won't be singing this song live much, so even if he was damaging his cords, he wouldn't be doing it repeatedly over and over again. FBE is the Fine Brothers' Entertainment YouTube channel. It is very popular among teenagers (I guess). They have react videos to pretty much anything and it's split into different categories: Kids React, Teens React, Adults React, Elders React, and YouTubers React with occasional variations. They have one of their groups react to Kpop every few months or so. The most recent one was a reaction to Exo's "Tempo" and Twice's "Yes or Yes". They had Momoland on as a special Celebrities react to Kpop back when they were in LA for KCon. Videos get anywhere from 500,000 to 4 million or more views. the Exo/Twice one got 1.4 million views. FBE is actually the reason I got into Kpop and, likewise, found Nu'est. I used to watch the react videos all the time, and I saw their react video to Blackpink's "DDDD" and was immediately intrigued by the music and the production value of the video. Getting them featured on FBE would be a guarantee to get more international fans, which we all know Nu'est is lacking in. The only problem is, so far, they've only stuck to big named groups like BTS, EXO, Blackpink, and Twice. Seventeen was on there once, and I think I saw one with Monsta X... and maybe a couple of girl groups that I can't think of off the top of my head.... Mamamoo was one. Nu'est having an actual "story" to their journey may intrigue the writers to go ahead and give it a go. They always give the reactors a bit of a backstory to the groups they listen to. EDIT: Sorry if my post rambled. I'm fighting off sleep atm.
  4. Let's go Team J! Thank you for creating this page. I hope this group becomes a reality. This is definitely me. I don't know a thing about J-Pop yet.
  5. I was so shocked to read that Hyunsuk made it and not Yoonbin. I had truly convinced myself Yoonbin was making it. I do really like Hyunsuk, though, so I'm not upset about it. I'm real happy for him. In general, though, I really need some sort of closure in regards to Mashiho. I need a WHY for my brain to process everything, and I can go where I need to go. He was my favorite by far, so it's really going to be hard seeing this group without him. I don't want to completely give up on this group, though, so I won't disappear completely. I just don't see how I can full on stan without feeling a hint of bitterness. I'll have to go the more casual route like I did with Wanna One. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  6. I've been wanting to get FBE to React to Nu'est, but figured it'd be a long shot with just myself asking for them. I'll help you out! I am actually a voice teacher myself. I taught voice while getting my Master's degree and now teach choir with voice on the side. When I heard Nu'est for the first time, my initial reaction was, "wow, I hope Baekho has been taking care of his voice because he doesn't have the best technique in the world" only to discover that he had already had vocal nodules in the past. *note* vocal technique and vocal quality do not equal each other at all! I will say that him having it in the past is probably a good thing because he is naturally going to be more careful so it won't happen again. Vocal nodules can come from a variety of things. Now, not knowing much about the reasoning behind why he got them in the first place, if I was to assume, I would think it would be because his voice hadn't fully developed yet before they debuted and he took on a large portion of the singing being the main vocal. With his occasional bad technique of straining and not often flipping into head voice at a range that he probably should (I've seen him say he doesn't really know how to do falsetto before) as well as the probability that he didn't do the best job of protecting his voice because he is pretty loud just speaking or laughing (especially in their old videos). On top of that, he was probably stressed, had a lack of sleep, and was over-singing with them constantly touring all over the place. There are so many things that can contribute to vocal nodules. His voice has definitely matured since then and he is using much better technique, minus the occasional strain (which, ironically, isn't the high notes in "Help Me", but it's more in the chorus sections when he needs more power in the sound). I, honestly, wouldn't worry too much about him redeveloping them. He is older and wiser now. Baekho and I sing similarly in the fact that we tend to "blare and go" or as we say in the opera world "park and bark" (but he doesn't do a whole lot of parking). We put our whole bodies into our singing. This isn't a bad thing, but to those who aren't used to it, it can seem like it's pushing. This type of singing isn't very common in K-Pop which is why Baekho's voice sounds so unique. The most important thing he needs to do is to keep his voice lubricated and listen to what his body is telling him. It knows when enough is enough. Also, I wouldn't claim to know everything there is about the voice, so I could be completely wrong about everything!
  7. I know, personally, I don't hate Jaehyuk, so I apologize if I've ever come off that way... not that I post a whole lot in the first place. I was disappointed when Mashiho didn't make the group, but I wouldn't blame Jaehyuk for that. He seems like a really sweet kid and I'm happy for him. Never be embarrassed about who you like. I thought I was the only one who liked Mashiho until I found this community just recently. And you don't have to justify why you like someone. Congrats to your fav making it! Be happy without guilt!
  8. I need to go back and watch Jaehyuk's videos. I, admittedly, didn't pay much attention to him throughout the show because I thought he had no chance of debuting. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  9. I completely agree with everything you've said... pretty much all night (night for me at least). Your posts have said everything I wish I had the courage or the language fluency to say. I've taken this a lot harder than I expected because, logically, I can't think of any reason why Mashiho was dumped from the group. I could understand if he was lacking in any areas, but he's not. He has gained this huge fan-base purely on his talent... because it definitely wasn't his overwhelming amount of screen time that did the trick. I've run out of upvotes, but I'll just give you a ghost upvote for now
  10. Agreed. I've decided to go the positive route now that my anger has subsided. Mashiho is too talented to go to waste. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  11. I'll be there! Even though I know diddly squat about J-Pop. And I'll be here for this group too, but probably not as much as I would have been before. It's probably better for my health anyway. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  12. And everything worked out for the best. Because Jonghyun didn't make Wanna One, Nu'est was able to revive and become as successful as they should have been to begin with. Without Jonghyun, especially the reaction right after Produce, who knows what would have happened. And Samuel has been very successful at a solo artist, even winning 1st place in the Chinese show, CYZJ. You have to believe everything happens for a reason. 13. I'm trying very hard to be mature about this.... but it's so hard. Many of you are saying exactly what I would say, so I'll just go and like your posts and then cry in a corner. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  14. I go wherever Mashiho goes. I've said that from the beginning. He's the only reason I even got into this show. Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  15. Hello! I'm new here, so I'm not sure I'm 100% sure how this works, but I thought I'd give it a try. I'd like these two gifs placed side by side with a space in between for my signature. TYIA!!!!
  16. Exactly. I never worry about what's being hyped on OH. Even though I'm a new member, I lurked a long time before that. My ult group is Nu'est which literally never ends up on the main K-Pop board. I find many users on OH to be narrowly-focused on what is popular internationally. (OH isn't nearly as bad about this as other message boards, though.) Since two of the most popular groups have a dongsaeng group in the works, those groups are bound to get the most attention. Once this group is ready to debut, the interest will be there, especially since, like others have said, it includes YG's ace, Bang Yedam.
  17. I've been watching their 'Debut Project' show (currently on Ep. 13), and I'm really liking them, as well as Onewe. They seem very fresh and genuine. I don't have a bias, but I recognized Keonhee and Hwangwoong from Produce (sorry Seoho!), so I had my eyes on them initially, but the others are sneaking up there. Currently Leedo has been catching my eyes a lot. I like that there's not that many of them, so it's easy to get an idea of their personalities and how they work as a group. I'll probably end up purchasing their album soon.
  18. Thank you for the Hong Kong pics! I took a mini break from the fandom in hopes that it'd make this month go by quicker, but it didn't work, so now I'm back! I still have to get caught up on their performance in HK. I love love loved their performance a the SMAs! It was absolutely beautiful. It was probably my favorite arrangement of theirs so far. You can really get a sense of the story they are trying to tell. As a big fan of OST/ ballads, myself, Baekho's solo OST was right up there among the best of them... just breathtaking. I loved the imagery from the music video too. I haven't actually checked out any k-dramas before, but my interest has definitely been pinged.
  19. Long time lurker, first time poster (in this thread ) Congratulations Jeongwoo! I have been happy with the line up so far which makes me hopeful. I don't know if my anxiety can handle waiting, potentially until Friday, to see if Mashiho debuts. I want to be put out of my misery! Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
  20. I really enjoyed their debut song. I'm excited to look up more about them. I have many artists on my "to stan" list, but they may be the first I actually follow through with.
  21. I've already filled out a form! [emoji38] The show does have subtitles, they just come out slowly. I'm not sure how long the last one took to get subbed but it was several days later. I was lucky enough to order a Makestar Photobook! I think it might even be my first Nu'est purchase... I haven't gotten it yet, though :( Sent from my SM-N960U using OneHallyu mobile app
