The whole soft androgynous flower boy concept is a hard pass from me. People go mad over male idols with obvious eyeshadow and clothes which are generally considered more feminine but I don't like it personally. It's popular within kpop so I know it's not going anywhere, so I just ignore it.

13th April? So this is going to be their comeback stage? That's really cool

If there's one thing that I'm glad about this Seungri situation it's the fact that the kpop fans who would constantly shit on the Western industry and proclaim that the kpop insdustry is nowhere near as bad seem to have quietened down

#BTSisComing or something like that trended worldwide- I wonder if this new album will be part of a series? Like Map of the Soul is the name of it and this is the first installment

Armys who say that they're not interested in txt aren't all hating on them lol, it's fine if people don't want to support them. It really is pissing me off now, quit fucking complaining about it because it isn't a requirement to stan them.

They do, I eventually got Tear from HMV. The problem was that stores had to import the albums, and so it took a while to appear on the shelves. So we had to make up the majority of their first weeks sales by steaming and buying tracks on iTunes and other music services. Hopefully since they saw the demand last time they'll try to stock up asap for this comeback.

They're just PR right? I think they're responsible for getting them onto Lorraine, Graham Norton etc. You'd think that a group who's sold out Wembley twice would have one, ordering from Amazon last comeback was a pain and it messes up their first week sales. I really hope they look into it.

I see what you mean, I agree that when he's not interested in the guests it's easy to tell with him. I don't necessarily think that he'll act the same way with BTS though, like I said he's interacted with kpop in the past, and it was before it got so prevalent in the west. He's had more unusual performers there too, although that only happens every so often.

Why do you think that? Out of all of them I would have thought he would be the most relaxed with them. He's open minded, a good interviewer, and years ago he showed some interest in kpop iirc. His target audience is different from the kpop audience so I could see some awkwardness there.

Yeah I agree with everything you've said. I'm still a little confused on what Joon meant by organic, my first thought was that it was going to be more of a stripped back/emotional album. I'll be honest and say that I have mixed feelings about them moving towards a more mainstream sound. I did like the LY era a lot but I think that's the maximum level of "mainstream sound" I can take, if that makes sense. I've always thought that having such a diverse fanbase is both a good thing and a bad thing actually, diverse discography = diverse fanbase with diverse tastes in music. Two people can stan Bangtan but still have completely different preferences, so I think with all OT7 albums going forward they'll be trying to appeal to all types of preferences so that nobody in the fandom feels alienated.

I don't think they'll have that many collabs, they definitely have the opportunity to collaborate with a bunch of people but they haven't done it that much in practice, and I don't see that changing. Maybe we'll see collabs as stand alone singles or as songs from the other person's album. Most of the songs will be OT7 as normal, but maybe this time the intro and outro will be done by sub units. As for the album being throwback hip hop, there's nothing more I'd like but I'm still a little skeptical tbh, I don't see 2019 BTS committing to one genre like that. I could be reading too much into this (and I hope I am) but didn't Yoongi say that he isn't even listening to hip hop that much any more? I'm not saying that they'll be no hip hop songs whatsoever, it wouldn't be a BTS album if that was the case but idk. The theories people made when the Answer Version S concept photos and the teaser for Idol were released really excited me but they something completely different in the end so I don't want to get my hopes up again.
