(Above is the sponsor ad that will be in the KQCF pamphlet)
A group of lgbtq+ moomoos, called Rainbow Moomoo, in Korea raised money in support of the 18th Korea Queer Culture Festival. They were interviewed in the festival's newsletter and you can find that here: http://www.kqcf.org/xe/newsletter/172905. It's in Korean.

i like this tweet from them:
There a number of lgbtq+ in the mamamoo fandom. It wasn't easy to find lgbtq+ fans or fans who support lgbtq+ because they tend to hide, but they all manage to find each other by having common interest: being fans of mamamoo.
I started to think the company is called Rainbow Bridge World for a reason

Dropping by to say my opinion on the book: Warning: Gonna be long and gonna be different from majority here. But i really appreciate it if people could read it.
I might be the minority here who thought that the book is a good idea. Perhaps it shouldn't be in the form of manual/instruction directed to mamamoo per se, but addressed to those with higher authority over their creative content that is RBW.
people always bring this as arguement - they're grown up person, they can learn it themselves, korea has fastest internet in the world etc. but who will google history of another country if you're not a part of it. i wouldn't suddenly google history of Dominica, for example. how do we expect them to know, if others don't raise the issue to their attention?
now people will argue - why do we need to know about other culture's sensitivity and all if we're not a part of the culture? my 2 cents: the world is changing. we're more interconnected than we did a decade ago. what happen in berlin 1 min ago, will reach hawaii instantly. people are more dispersed all over the world, a race is no longer contained in one country. clashing of cultures occur everywhere. issue about racism always land in hot spot in media.
-" but they're in kpop, they shouldn't be bothered with culture unrelated to them. it won't affect them anyway,"
then, we come to mamamoo's and rbw's ambition. mamamoo expressed their intention to do world tour. rbw intended to go global, they created rbwglobal twitter and a special section in fancafe for international fans. but if they wanna go global, they need to know the lines they shouldn't cross when it comes to cultural sensitivity. rbw should remember what they put on internet will be seen by the world and is open to judgement and criticism. we always tend to forget that mamamoo are considered celebrities. people will look at them and pay extra attention to them than ordinary person.
lets say we let the blackface slip and they are not aware of the issue, imagine what would happen if they go to western countries for a concert and they display the blackface VCR? in front of potential investor/ music promoter? remember when they were in SXSW, this happened:
What did Siedah Garrett say? "I want to work with them as soon as possible. Definitely wanna work with them in their next project,"
you see, i'm providing a perspective different from everybody else here.
fans can go mad about violating freedom, restricting their beagleness and all. but i think fans should see another aspect that some tend to ignore: music industry is still a business. this issue could dangerously and potentially drive away people who want to bring them further. and the worst thing is, we're talking about kpop where a girl group can be shunned by rolling water bottle.
yes, its korea their home-country that matters, but if they keep doing same mistake, then rbw can cancel 'going-global' in their plan. some people argue that JB/ Rihanna had done racist thing and they're all right but we should remember western pop isnt like kpop. kpop market is like 10% of whole music market and it is still a niche outside korea. Outside korea, the revenue still coming from international kpop fans, not by general population like western pop. if rbw think like the way people here think i.e "why should we burden ourselves to please international fans" then they can please forget going global. If rbw is not able to attract pre-existing international kpop fans, how are they going to target global audience?
i think we need to open our minds and look at this issue in holistic views other than focusing in our desire to see them as who we want them to be and forecasting the change of their behaviour if they get restricted. what we probably want rbw to do is to review the content, rather than telling mamamoo how they should act as human beings.
we keep preaching "don't spread the hate, we should educate them," but what do we do to educate them? making threads on OH/ twitter that rbw probably gonna ignore?
i dont intend to patronize mamamoo. I put the whole responsibility to rbw. in the end, rbw is the one steering their career. as much power as mamamoo have over their content, it's still up to the final decision of their superior. Damage control can be avoided, if they didn't fire the wrong missile at the first place.
so i agree with the book if it is directed to RBW.
this is my 2 cent. neg if you want

Hello, i just drop by to say how happy i am to see how organized the fandom in this comeback - like voting, streaming in melon and YT. Back in 2014, we wouldn't even dream this to happen. mamamoo break a lot of records and i'm really happy that the fandom is growing slowly, but stable and strong.
i know this year we have been through some rough moment, even now people still constantly dragging us and mamamoo for their mistake. but just brace yourself, there's always sunshine after the rain, there's always happiness after the pain. this comeback prove it. and it does help with moomoos handling the circumstances maturely, though i dont deny there are vocal young fans out there - i still believe of all fandom i've ever been with, moomoos are the best.
keep on working hard, moomoos. sure we all want them to win, but don't be too obsessed till you go attacking / insulting others if we don't. we have gone so far from where we began, even one win is a bliss.

i want to bash people who keep using disease/ medical condition to demean/bashing a person.
'cancer'
'development delay'
'look syndromic'
'autistic'
i worked in medical field. trust me, you WILL NOT belittle or make fun of any of those disease/condition if you have encountered such patients and the difficulties their families had to face in real life. if you have a relatives with cancer and you have seen all the effects of the disease, the side effects of radiotherapy/chemotherapy regime, the pain they had to go through and the pain of family members helplessly clinging to every second remaining of the lives of those with stage 4 malignancy - you will not speak lightly of cancer.
AND developmental delay is not something you can laugh on. if you have never been a parents of a child with development delay, you will not know the emotional pain seeing your 2 year old child who's supposed to be walking, yet he/she is still struggling to move from supine to prone position on bed. he/she is supposed to be talking like normal child, but they could only babble words. they are supposed to be toilet trained by 4 years old, but some child with global development delay like paraplegic cerebral palsy had to be on diapers for the rest of their lives. it caused both physical exhaustion and emotional stress for parents and quite a lot of parents with special needs child fell into depression and anxiety.
so, for those who keep using those words to ridicule someone's appearance or behaviour, remember: it might happen to you in the future. you might get a child with cancer, development delay, autistic spectrum disorders or any congenital disorders/ syndromes.
you might be the one sitting next to your mother as you watch her getting chemotherapy delivered into her chemoport.
you might have to wait restlessly outside ICU because your sister developed tumor lysis syndrome midway her therapy.
your child might be asking you why she need to wear mask and isolated in a sterile room with limited contact if she had neutropenic fever syndrome.
You might be the one changing diapers of your 10 years old paraplegic child as you look out the window and you see your neighbour's boy of same age going to school.
You are not promised a rainbow life. it can happen to you or anybody close to you.
sorry, i just had to let this out. i wish i could take all those insensitive people to ward and see the reality themselves. This is not something you can joke on.

yeah, both female and male fans are there, the age range seems to be wide too, that's a good sign. and are the people from afar of the pic also moomoos? i thought they weren't at first but it looks like some of them were holding up signs or something, they look like fans.
my friend who happen to be there (she rushed from clc fan meet in shibuya to catch a glimpse of mamamoo in odaiba) said the area at front stage (as in the pictures) were exclusive for fans who had ?tickets (I'm not sure about this). Those who didn't have could only watch from afar because they are not allowed to go past the entrance (the arc). but she said she could still hear mamamoo's voice clearly, even as far as fountain plaza (the showcase was held in church plaza). the broad avenue was packed with fans and curious bystanders, even spilling to Olive plaza

But she noticed something strikingly different from clc fan meet and mamamoo fan meet. clc fan meet had 70% guys, mostly uncle fans but in opposite mamamoo hv more females

i'm just dropping by to give my opinion
I love the song. I agree that the chorus felt like out of place in the beginning, but I guess that's the trend now? I noticed that instead of Solar, Wheein is the one leading in the chorus while Solar doing the adlibs. Moonbyul's rap is fire and I actually like the part when they sing 'I feel good'. I can already picture the epicness in their stage later.
Now to the controversial part
Okay, the kiss part throw me off. All of them. If they want to depict that the kiss is good, I will accept it if it's consensual. The grabbing and forcing is the minus point there. In twitter "Dating violence" and "Mamamoo MV" is trending in Korea. It could be good that they're getting attention but it could also be the opposite. In the midst of political chaos, their timing of comeback is already difficult. Maybe this is a reach but the last thing people want to see in the middle of this political chaos is another story of abuse/exploitation. And this submissive image is also affecting the girl crush image they have right now. RBW should know that their follower are females, and by portraying this kind of role, some of them felt unrespected.
now, I'm not anti-guy, supporting feminism or whatever. RBW could come up with better story line, at least give some back story between the girls and the guy. Not just the guy randomly walk in and kiss all of them and they all end up liking it. It could harmfully deliver different message to young girls, to allow themselves being manipulated as long as it feel good. Different people might perceive the MV differently, but majority was not pleased with the depiction.

do moomoos hate solar's partner should moomoos be happy paired to a gentleman guy like him and less fanbase in short bashers? or some of here ship eric to other girl? look eric is really take care of solar properly and i believe that they just getting to know each other they just natural lols im soo glad she paired to a bigger fanbase idols its scary tbh if she paired a a-list k-idol lols
BTW they have a radio interview outside of WGM tomorrow no script needed for them lols
SORRY HOPE MY FELLOW MOOMOOS DONT NEG ME I SUPPORT MAMAMOO AND BOTH OF THEM INDIVIDUALY

NO HARSH PLEASE IM SCARED

incoming wall of text
i dont hate eric. instead, i'm grateful that solar is partnered to someone like him who knows his limit. imagine if her husband is jae rim, i bet by 1st episode fans gonna flock to his house and crucify him.
it's just the premise of the show and the viewer's expectation that i strongly dislike. eric and solar tried to keep everything real ( lets be honest - unless you're looking for one night stand, you won't be doing skinship with a person whom you've only known for a couple of hours). because life is like that. not everything need to be rushed in a fast lane and it definitely won't work if the other person is not ready or not in same page. both of them are not actor and actress - they can't trick anyone thinking that they're in love.
but the viewers.. god, i loath them ... they are the ones that i have problem with, the ones that keep pushing their delusion and unrealistic expectation. like i said before, the viewers should allow solar & eric to do it at their own pace. but they even compare jota-jikyung with solar-eric, as if in every relationship, the abundance of skinship should be a gold standard. if they want to take wgm seriously as a matchmaker programme, then let it evolve naturally. coz that's how life is. a relationship or "love" aint about holding each other's body part all the time.
i'm at edge coz i'm seeing solar being bashed for 'not trying', for 'closing herself' and they paint solar as the bad woman who reject eric's advancement, making like eric is the only one trying to work the relationship. but can't they see how she's trying to open herself little by little, even though its clashing with her character? if that's who she is, then respect her. don't demand anything that makes her uncomfortable. don't try to mold her into someone you want her to be, just because you want them to be a "relationship goals"
people might argue wgm is all entertainment and solar have responsibility to make it interesting. but if by selling fantasy creates another batch of delusional shipper who can't draw a line between dream and reality then I vote for Solar to end this asap. we dont need another khuntoria/taeun who never move on

i don't know where to rant about this so can i say it here?
whenever i watch wgm and i see comment like 'solar should've tried more', 'she keep pushing him away', 'this couple should have more skinship' - i feel so sad and mad. i doubt she really wants to be in the show, i bet rbw be like 'hey, there's an offer coming in for wgm? maybe you should try for more publicity' and this yeba leader who's willing to do everything for mamamoo sake, accepts it as a part of her responsibility to get mamamoo name out there.
i like the show the way it is. i view it as purely business. i'm entertained with solar's antic. i applaud her for being herself - she's so transparent, like if she likes something she shows it, and if she doesn't she just express it. solar and eric have tried their best for the show, but at the same time they respect each other and don't overstep the border or pushing the boundaries. for me that's natural response. that's humane. who wants to do skinship and kiss a stranger you barely meet every 2 week?
but then, there's the hypocrisy of wgm viewers come in. they know its scripted, but they demand concocted chemistry. they know the show is fake and most couple end up ignoring each other after the camera stop rolling, but they insist on the couple to pretend they're in love and doing heart fluttering skinship. they let themselves falling into the faux relationship only to cry 'faaakkkeeeee' when it's over.
and they blame solar for the slow progress in their virtual relationship, they bash solar for not trying enough, for being so shy - but that's who she is! what do you want her to do? being an overly attached or a pervert girlfriend to feed people's delusion that will haunt her for the rest of her career like what happen to taeun or khuntoria? (i swear imma slapping anyone's face who gonna hold soleric banner in their 10th anniversary concert later)
why can't people just watch the show the way it is, the way it progress? let it happen on her own will, with their own pace.
if something is meant to sail, it will sail - even if it's a slow, floating party tube in Alaskan gulf.
p/s: i enjoy the show for fun. but i can't wait for it to over.

Dropping by for opinion:
I think the person in the video is Moonbyul. She had said that she's kinda big predebut (which was also the reason why she got dropped by her former agency). In V-app, she talked about how fans found out about her predebut picture and she had shared her dieting secret (forgot which one, but I think one of the earlier YKBK v-apps). There's also an Instiz post about her look predebut and how she had lost weight (cant find the original instiz post but here's the 'translated' one: http://www.dkpopnews.net/2015/09/mamamoos-moonbyul-shocks-fans-with.html)

dropping by for opinion:
Wanna.B used the same set and some of the scene are similar to UOAY. Maybe they have similar director, I don't know. But I will not be too worked up with it. It's just a same set. Piano man's MV set for example had been used by Hyorin (i don't really remember), Troy and K hunter before them. The plot of the MV though - albeit being 90% similar - is still a bit different with UOAY and the song isn't like UOAY at all.
Perhaps it's intentional to make the MV such way,so that it will garner interest to the MV and the group itself. Wanna.B is a relatively new group from small, unknown company so its understandable if they have to go down this route to get attention.
It's still not bad IMO - I guess if Mamamoo knows about it, they will be proud that there's another group who had been 'inspired' by them, albeit being just 2 years in the scene. And if we think about it in another way - people will come to UOAY MV to watch the similarity, so more promo to Mamamoo yay
So for me, we should chill and view it in positive way too.

On another note, is it basically confirmed Mamamoo easily sold out their Moosical concert dates? I need to know the numbers!
The remaining seats left:

On 13th August (1st day) (Green=available seats)

On 14th August (2nd day)

Unofficial Kmoomoo and public will wage war to get those limited seats.
Edit: however there are bastards disguised as official fans who bought the tickets and sell it 2-3x original price. RBW has posted a notice addressing the issue in fan cafe just now and urged fellow fan to report the scalper

Vandalized the fancafe? How? Wha? But why?
some anti infiltrate the fancafe and posted hatred comments in Mamamoo memo/diary. back then it was so easy to level up, you can just request the admin and admin can approve it in one/two days (if you level up in fancafe you can see and post in the memo & diary) but after the incident it's difficult to level up (you have to meet certain number of posts and other requirement i.e you need to drop by the attendance section everyday ). If you wanna level up quickly it's easier if you have physical copy of mamamoo album (they will asked some kind of serial number at back of the album or something ) and you need to answer some questions about mamamoo.
-
Can we actually? I'm in for putting in a lot of time and effort to help if necessary, just let me know who to contact. I'm being 100% serious.
Sparkilene aka Lene is the admin of Mamamoo Daily. Last year she helped to organize rice donation in Moo Party

Ours are the third from the right. Many people from OH and twitters joined too

still laughing at Miss Pluto's

i'm crying.. the girls have gone so far, it feels like yesterday we're lashing out how the rookie awards sidelined them even though they have the most downloads. And how we all were freaking out over UOAY suddenly rose up to top 5 Melon. we were all like "omg what's happening? this can't be happening!" but look where they are now. Holding their own solo concert in Olympic Hall (the same venue as F(x)'s Docking Station tour
)i wanna go so bad
But even if we can't go, maybe we can do something to show our support, like the rice donation we did in Moo Party. I hope Lene can organize such event again -

tbh i don't care if she did it. it's her choice. it's her life. but the hate she got is unwarranted. it's not like she publicly announced that she's all au naturel or she never had ps. never even once she release any of the statement, but people treat her as if she had done a sin. Poor girl just wanna be happy and surviving in her competitive world, let her live the way she is. I read through the comments and I regret opening the site, it was all toxic. But I believe in karma - what goes around, comes around. Pann is filled with middle-schoolers, one day when they grow up being adult they too will face the same situation of being judged by their appearance. one day they too will taste the bitterness of their own hate-culture they cultivated. for now i just wish that they could leave her alone and let her live

Dropping by for opinion:
I think she did something with her eyes. I don't agree with jaw reduction/shaving procedure coz it would cut some of the mandibular bones, it will affect the muscles as well as the subcutaneous tissue and skin above it. This would make it impossible for her to keep her double dimples she had. (i saw the double dimples in her baby picture). her nose and cheek look the same, and she might have lost some of fat but I think she still maintain her overall facial feature. so i'd say it was just the eyes - but the rest is the combination of weight loss, make-up and maturity.
but i don't care if she had ps or not. Her dream is to be a singer, not being Miss World or being another face for Neutrogena foam cleanser. The hypocrisy of Kpop fans is laughable - when a person doesn't fit their visual standard, they shamed her. When the person did something to meet that standard, they trash her again. It's a vicious perpetual cycle that will never stop and nobody win the arguement until these people learn that visual isn't everything, it's something that can fade/change with time and outside appearance doesn't always equivalent to excellency in other area.
I hope all the negative comments won't hinder her from moving forward. If she happen to read the comments (which I think by now she might did), I hope she stays strong and ignore them all.

The got paid so well

Their own revenue + royalty money from featuring + CF (albeit not many CF yet) + events. And RBW is really a good company for giving them fair share in the income (so far)
Let me see Moonbyul flaunting around the town in Aventador please, that would be a nice source of fanfic

I'm praying they are just on vacation but a part of me knows they are working. do they ever stop?
Do you guys think MMM will be the flagship of RBW and have to work nonstop until RBW Is established enough with other artists to share the workload? by that I mean letting esna get her dues and get a mini out for her that slays and the others... kinda seems like MMM is nonstop to ensure RBW and their own success (im recalling infinites old days fam. dem feelings tho)
I think, even though it looks like Mamamoo is the sole breadwinner for RBW, but RBW gained revenue from many other sources. Like Kpop training programme they have, their in-house composers generating money from the songs they made for other singers/group (like Seo Yong bae, the composer of Gfriend's songs). Maybe rbw is seizing the opportunity that now they're trending, but i hope they don't overworked Mamamoo so much.
-
In my opinion Mamamoo attracts a lot of people with music background (instrument players, singers, sound techs, etc...), at least that's what I noticed here and on reddit, and that's one of the reasons you get some pretty big walls of text or more in-depth analysis about their music/performances.
I think that Moomoos in general are not too critical, but it's just that moomoos are, let's say, a little more demanding I think. When you get conditioned to the quality/sound of what RBW/Mamamoo produce, it's hard to not notice when a song is lacking something. That doesn't mean this song (or any other non-RBW collabo) isn't good, it's just that moomoos tend to have a more "specific taste" and analyze things a little bit more in detail I noticed, so that's why we may sound like that.
Agree with this.
There's nothing wrong exploring to different genre, I found the song is pleasant but the only downfall of it is the issue with mixing and mastering of audio track. The instruments were too loud (some people argue that the song is rock so its supposed to be loud- but mind you AC/DC's vocalist never get drowned by their own instrument), Wheein's voice volume was edited too low or compressed too much in the song that sometimes she completely fade into background. There seems to be some issue in compression during mastering process that results in unbalanced parts.
I had feeling that RBW emphasized more in sound quality of their songs which is why I love tracks produced by them. When i listen to music I tend to dissect every different layer of the song. RBW might be stingy in printing the album but they spent a lot in producing a good quality track. All tracks in Melting was mastered by Chris Gehringer in famous Sterling Sound studio and hiring him must have cost a lot of money. He mastered songs in Jason Derulo, Drake, Lady Gaga and Rihanna's album and was a Grammy nominee for Album of the Year and Record of the Year (for audio mixing and mastering category) - well he did won a Latin Grammy award for his work in 2012.
so yeah.. i agree that maybe having some musical background and being used to listen to what RBW had produced somehow had affected our opinion to the song. Nevertheless, we are still happy that Wheein has this opportunity to do collaboration

isnt rbw ( aka Mamamoo channel at YT ) followed Mamamoo-trans
I remembered when Yoongi had "senpai-notice-us" moment rip 1st channel of Mamamoo-trans
but its good that you guys had prepared back-up, you should make triple or quadruple back-up account in YT to make sure all international radish wont gonna be famished
-
The reason she was first was because Solji, who won last time (and this time :D) gets to choose who goes first, and Coni was pushing her to choose Solar since she looked so visibly nervous
It's okay, the fact she displayed such a good performance is all that matters.

But then Solar managed to beat Baek Ji Yong and progress to next stage tho

-
Similar chord progression can't be a basis of plagiarism, or else millions of songs in this world is just plagiarizing one another. For instance, this video could demonstrate how similar 4 chord progression can translate to different songs:
And like someone point out earlier, one cant raise a plagiarism issue if they can't pinpoint the original source. Sure it sounds like it's inspired by Treasure but Treasure itself was inspired by another song. So if anyone said that it plagiarized Treasure, then why not Treasure accused for plagiarism too?
I know this allegation will arise sooner or later, but I hope RBW know what they're doing. LG is a big company itself, they won't take a risk screwing up their own promotion with a plagiarized promo song.

[Official Mamamoo Thread] MAMAMOO & MOOMOO Forever
in Groups
Posted
Sorry to keep this issue continue but I too want to express my opinion.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the interview or the way he worded it?
What do we want him to say if that is the truth? Sugarcoat it so it won't make a member look bad than the rest? Do we really expect they are Mamamoo so they must know everything about music?
Are we there when he judged them for monthly assessment, when he trained them for harmony class, when he listened to their self-composed songs? Are we there back in 2011 when he analyzed each member's ability and decide on their role in Mamamoo? Are we there when the panel of RBW composers graded them? Do we, who never step in RBW and join the training, really know that yes, all members are actually good making music since their first day in RBW?
Just because he said 'I don't expect this particular member is good in making music, but she does' over-protective fans went batshit like they know what happen inside RBW trainee assessment hall. If anything, he was complimenting Byul for exceeding his expectation. That's a statement that we should be proud of, not frown upon. He's with them for 5 years, he was the one who saw their progress and all. He knew everything we don't know about them, he have seen it all - not us fans behind monitors who depend on interviews/hear-says and short clips/picture of them holding guitar to judge their musical prowess.
People need to remember, there's no perfect human. Not everybody born as musical genius. Some are better, some may pick it up slow. It's okay, as long as they continue to learn. There's always room and time for improvement. What's wrong with admitting one's flaw or weakness? Getting all defensive when Byul getting negative remark (heck, I don't even find the statement as negative) won't get her anywhere. Getting all worked up with a constructive criticism from professional musician that would help in her musical development is just stupid.
Saying that 'she's already have low self confidence, why did he said such thing to her' as if byul is a weak minded baby and need protection. No, stop underestimating her! You are insulting her instead of helping her getting confidence. There's no rainbow and heaven dust out there. Byul is a grown up adult, she probably had faced even harsher comments from the agency that rejected her, she probably had heard bad response during her assessment. But she doesn't need us as human shield. For past 3 years she had proved her mentor that he was wrong and he proudly admitted it. She did it herself.
This issue is not an issue at all if fans don't go overprotective mode and behave as if they have all the assessment sheets and clips of them making music to compare. They act as if KDH singling Byul out without knowing what happen behind the closed door. If KDH wants to be mean, he wouldn't even let Byul writing her own lyric and roll in her royalties money. (which is the highest of all mamamoo members)
RBW need to learn that they don't need to please fans all the time. And fans need to learn to stop putting their fav high up on pedestal. This mess is just something that result from overreacting.
