  1. Meanwhile Miyazaki Miho, who still wants to remain friends with IZOne members, and Takeuchi Miyu have been very, very quiet.
  2. The new Big Hit gg and YG gg are not online yet, and aespa has some way to go. Some 2004/2005ers might debut in the 5th generation, but I won't give up until I see the complete line ups of Big Hit gg and YG gg.
  3. KPop is a historical event so historical approach is needed Someone made me a portrait of IU with a horn. I saved it somewhere.
  4. I was going to write about how Lightsum would not be able to defeat IU, but when I dusted off my history books, I found I was mistaken about the age difference between Hannibal and Scipio. I thought they were 9 years apart, but apparently I read history books incorrectly. Hannibal was born in 247 bc, while Scipio was born 236/235 bc.(differs by historians) Which means Hannibal was defeated by someone 11/12 years younger than him. ---- Despite of the temporary ascendance of Brave Girls over IU, it seems that IU's nemesis is going to be 11/12 years younger than her, in otherwise t hose who were born in 2004 or 2005. The most prominent 2004er is Jang Wonyoung but I don't think Starship will put her into another girl group - I think she will be probably put in acting. In today's world, it is common for older actresses to remain quite active through their 40s (Lee Jieun was the youngest actress to be nominated for the Baeksang awards, Korea's Emmy award, for two consecutive years) so it will be a while before Wounyoung overcomes Lee Jieun in acting. So, now the newer debuts are around the 2004/2005 crowd, one of the newer faces, male or female, is going to be the person who defeats KPop's Senior singer decisively and lead her to a virtual retirement. They would have been too young to remember Good Day, and IU's most famous photograph, and the memories of IU's domination would be faint on them, they would remember the effective owner of Edam Entertainment as a Senior singer who only shows up once in a blue moon, and would like to teach her a lesson she would never forget. Lee Jieun won't return until the 4th qtr of 2022, but it would be a perfect time for the 2004/2005 crowd to teach a hard lesson to a singer who is technically their grandmother because she is the 2th generation while they would be the 4th generation..
  5. There is nothing to wish about her, because she is done. Her appearances in z grade movies basically finished her, and even in Lightsum all the hype is on Samgah. Because I tell things most people are afraid to ask about?
  6. In cube, at least Gidle is Soyeon's own baby. No one touches Soyeon on anything regarding Gidle, because if Cube decides to kick Soojin out, Soyeon will leave as well and form her own act. Jeon Soyeon is the decision maker and she has decided to share Soojin's fate.
  7. CLC is done. No need to beat a dead horse. Lightsum has very little hype. Note that Cube waited this until IZOne disbanded, although the Soojin fiasco was more important for it. I don't know about others but Starship will use the two youngest members of IZOne to bury Lightsum before it ever goes anywhere
  8. You do not debut a group with two people . Gidle got all of Cube's attention, and given its capacity without the Soojin fiasco Lightsum's debut would have been postponed and postponed and postponed indefinitely For example, we have not heard too much about the individual activities of CLC or Yoo Seonho. Gidle not promoting overseas is something beyond anyone's control, but other than that, not much was done
  9. Sorry but she spent the last 3 years appearing in grade z movies.
  10. IU failed to crush them when Rollin was about to reach the #1 in Melon. Iu did it in respect to Rose's new sing\le, but it is her biggest mistake. There was no rumor of members or anything. If anything Cube only cared about Gidle and let CLC die quietly.
  11. Let's be honest. Lightsum is only released because of the Soojin fiasco of Gidle, although the support of Jeon Soyeon on Seo Soojin is rock solid. Gidle still retains its foreign base although it will be a bit weakened in Korea. Cube is a company which is incapable of running too many acts; CLC went nowhere and all emphasis went to Gidle who was exclusively run by Jeon Soyeon for all practical purposes . Soyeon basically ran a company within a company, and no one really had a say over her. But now Gidle can't operate for at least a while. So Lightsum is debuted as a stopgap measure. However, the moment Gidle returns, Lightsum will be put into a back burner, just like CLC. Cube needs Gidle, who will bring revenues, and Lightsum will be like Rocket Punch is to Lovelyz in Woolim. I am sorry, but Chowon's career is shot. She might persevere and try to find the path by Kwon Nara, who was in a group which went nowhere for years and only found a modicum of career at her 30s, but Cube put her in quite a few grade Z movies which will probably shoot back to her very severely.
  12. Sorry, it is too late to save Chowon who has built up history in z-grade movie. I will write about this now.
  13. Jeon Soyeon , whose opinion is quite important in cube, is sticking with Soojin.
  14. Jubi (now Kim Eunyoung), the more prominent Sunny Hill Member, went her own way and does not appear to be hanging around with the former members
  15. Without such background some people will probably think Lee Jieun is the greatest soloist in the history of Korean Pop
  16. Before world war 2, Paris was the place to go to follow the pop culture of the world. Lots of Americans, including hemingway, fitzgerald and josephine baker, ended up in Paris during the 1920s to taste the culture there. After world war 2, Paris lost its luster and New York, and Los Angeles to some degree, became the center of the world's pop culture. This situation continued until 2010s, when , out in the blue, Seoul rose up and became the center of world's pop. KPop's worldwide prominence suddenly propped Korea to the center of the world's pop culture, although the Koreans didn't like that and did strange things like supporting trot singers. Seoul is the center of KPop where most Kpop songs are created (the composers might be foreigners but the ideas all come from Seoul) and has become the center of world's pop culture . When Paris was hot, Brooklyn-born composer George Gershwin wrote a music piece called "An American in Paris", based on his own visit to the French capital on 1926. Unfortunately i have observed a paucity of songs by non-Korean acts regarding Seoul and the korean culture. Perhaps Kpop is universal and does not emphasize the importance of Seoul and the environment which crystalized Kpop?
  17. That is because when Cho Yongpil , who dominated the 1980s, was active there was only one station doing music shows. He had a legendary 68 wins from Gayo Top 10, the predecessor to Music Bank. In modern times, with 3 music shows and a few cable shows, he would probably have collected at least 200 wins. (He does have 2 Music Bank wins and 1 Music Core win plus the 2013 annual #1) Lee Jieun was lucky when her slow seasons coincided with the time when there were less chance to win #1s. She won the last Music Core win in Nov 14 , 2015, had a year and 3 month hiatus, and won #1 at Music Core one week after it restored rankings on April 22. 2017.
  18. Just for a week, although the sales figures are cumulative. Yes, although I never thought IU would do that.
  19. Big HIt's BTS had a world's #1 album of the week quite a few times. As far as I remember, Seventeen also had such honor but it is part of Big Hit/Hybe. I believe NCT had such honor as well. I also found Twice had such honor as well. However, I live long enough and I see something like this. Edam Entertainment's sole singer (and effective honor) gets to beat Justin Bieber and take the honor of the #1 album of the week. Granted, time is slow (BTS' Be is still at #6), but this epitome of non-KPop , who finally turned into KPop this year, gets to have the world's #1 album of the week. What is that? Is the world ending? http://www.mediatraffic.de/albums-week14-2021.htm http://www.mediatraffic.de/01.jpg http://www.mediatraffic.de/new.JPG IU - Lilac Kakao M South Korea - 1 week at No.1 - 248.000 / 248.000 http://www.mediatraffic.de/arrow.GIF http://www.mediatraffic.de/02.jpg 1 / - week 2 Justin Bieber - Justice Def Jam - 182.000 / 459.000
  20. Trouble Maker was a temporary collabo between a Beast member and a Four Minute member. They had their own groups. AKMU is siblings. No permanent coed groups in companies worth their salt.
  21. Cube tried to debut Yoo Seonho for quite a long time. But now he is going to be dumped into others Cube could not debut. With the Soojin fiasco , Cube has to do something, but coed groups usually do not do well in Korea
