In ancient China, there were two kings who always fought each other. The story of King Fuchai and King Goujian is very long and complicated, but I will just say that they were very bitter enemies. Long story short, King F was victorious, and King G was subjugated. King F won some more victories, and decided to invade northern China to become the supreme ruler of it. While King F led his armies to the north, King G, seeing King F's best soldiers are now far away, attacked and captured King F's capital. While victorious in the north earning the King F the title of the Supreme Ruler of China, when the news of King F's capital conquered reached King F's army, it disintegrated and soon King F was captured by King G, who ordered King F to kill himself. === While BTS conquered the world and won an unprecedented 5 #1s at Billboard Hot 100, Korea was captured by SM's aespa, singing an unreleased OST of Fast and Furious franchise. How interesting it is, with BTS the ruler of the world except K-O-R-E-A. (Now the Melon 24Hit's top position is occupied by MSG Wannabe, a bunch of has been or lesser known singers(plus at least one actor) assembled by Yoo Jaesuk, who is also another detriment of Kpop but I won't go too deep on him today.) SM's very unexpected triumph against Hybe at the very opportune time is something to be recorded for the history of KPop.

Yes although Koreans like her style of voice. That's why she will never gain any Western fans
-
Lee Jieun's voice has a style which is very hard to place among other singers, which is why she was not put into a group and her company had to develop her as a soloist. Her voice is not pure and clear, and has some kind of impurity, but it is not too annoying to the ear for some strange way. So her style of singing, while not too popular among Americans, Europeans and Africans, has quite a lot of appeal in Korea. Plus, she now chooses music which can use her strange tone of voice.

Brave Girls' new song is now #4 in the Melon 24 hits chart. While quite decent, it was supposed to carry Rollin over through the summer, making Rollin a firm hit thru there and scoring the yearly #1 , denying the elusive yearly #1 from you-know-who. And competition is fierce. Aespa, BTS and Heize do not appear to be willing to yield their seats to BB's new song. Which means Rollin won't be roaring hard during the summer. Which means, Brave Girls will probably take #2 in the Melon yearly chart, failing to dislodge You-know-who in the end. What is your opinion about Brave Girls, in the end, not able to dislodge you-know-who from the Melon Yearly #1?

Nikkei reveals the most popular female idols in 2021

Jurina #10 Sakura #12 Jurina not making IZOne was a blessing in disguise after all -
Reality is cold and harsh. Han Chowon only has bitterness remaining, and Cube pushing Yoon Sangah and her faction will probably end with a very nasty incidence.
-
Those who were done wrong before will feel they were cheated again, and they will get very, very angry. Doesn't really matter whether the Gu9udan members are rather close, since only Sejeong and the Chinese girl are still in showbiz, Kang Minah having cut ties from the rest and becoming a full actress
-
Leading to a shitstorm which will make the Hyunjoo of April look like a kindergarten fight gone wrong
-
There are HUGE, HUGE anger and frustration among the PD48 people, who spent the last 30 plus months in limbo, especially Han Chowon, who is a powder keg. And the other 4 who did not go to PD48 will NEVER understand their anger. Maybe Lee Joohyun, who was in Cube for 7 years, might understand a bit but certainly not Yoon Sangah who was in Cube for just 2 years, after auditioning in companies which produced IZOne members. Yoon Sangah might be friends with IZOne members, whose names are never to be mentioned before Chowon. So, already they could NOT mix to begin with. I have said that within 2-3 years there will be a fight in there which will make the April issue like a child's play.
-
The faction which went to PD48 and the faction which didn't can't really mix, as the experiences of Pristin and Gu9udan have proven. Initially those who were in the Mnet audition are better known, and others who were not there get angry. Cube chose the worst option; instead of making one faction happy and let them lead the act so it would be recognized by the people faster, it chose to push both factions half-heartedly , 50% for each instead of 100% for a faction and 0 for the other. That created a situation where neither faction is particularly happy since there is no one who catches people's eyes initially.
-
Like Gu9udan, there are 2 factions in Lightsum. (The lone Japanese member is not part of it.) There are the three PD48 people led by Chowon. And there are the four who did not go to PD48, nominally led by Lee Joohyun but actually led by Yoon Sangah. They have formed their own cliques, which can't really be broken because of the painful journeys PD48 people had had. Yoon Sangah only joined Cube on 2019, after auditioning in companies where some IZOne members belong to, and she appears to have unified those who did not compete in PD48 against those who did.

[NB] Wheein will not be renewing contract with RBW
Yknocker replied to rananicolee's topic in Netizen Nation
It is her choice. Mamamoo has been taken over by Hwasa so Wheein has little reason to remain -
When Gu9udan debuted there were 9 members, and only three members who competed in Produce 101, including Kim Sejeong and Kang Minah who were IOI, had any following. But the company nevertheless debuted all of their trainees, and the group sank. Other than Sejeong and Minah (who is now exclusively an actress and refused to join the IOI reunion, although she did not hesitate from appearing at Music Core when Lee Jieun showed up there), (Yes I know some of you are going to watch for my mention of IU) and the Chinese member who was smart enough to find a niche in China before too late, the rest just disappeared. === Lightsum has 3 members from the infamous PD48, 4 members from Cube itself, and one Japanese member who is not part of the discussion since if there is only one foreign member in a group he/she is usually not part of a faction . The 3 PD48 people are led by Han Chowon and the other 4 are led by Yoon Sangah. Although Lee Joohyun is nominally the leader, she is part of Yoon Sangah's faction and defers to Yoon Sangah. Cube is well known for always making the worst choice possible, and this time is not too different. Instead of letting Han Chowon lead the perf, and silence Yoon Sangah's faction, or vice versa and show that Cube didn't really want the PD48 people, they tried to give equal footing to both factions, which can't be mixed. They should have debuted separately but Cube's record of running two acts simultaneously is not good, so they debuted together. Putting two absolutely incompatible factions together in one group historically did not work out well, and Cube refused to emphasize either faction, making both of them mediocre.

It happened in 2012 but is known to any long time followers of Kpop https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-scandal-between-IU-and-Eunhyuk

When you raise a child, you often make you read the biographies of famous people, so your child would hopefully learn from them. Korea has a famous series of biographies for children, called the 'who?' series. It has biographies for famous figures of Korea and the world, and also for sports figures hailing from there. Now it has a who? KPop series. http://www.whomall.co.kr/shop/list.php?ca_id=10g0 It is in Korean but there should be no problem identifying who is who. From the right: BoA - Asia's Star BTS (revised edition - apparently it was revised after it won the first #1 in Hot 100) - The Seven Boys who ran for the dream of being singers Twice - KPop's Top Girl Group and, someone who does not exactly belong there is also present. IU - The Singer-song write who made a mark in Korean Popular Music ==== However, I bet that the biography of the last person I mentioned will probably not mention an incident of hers which is not exactly educational, unless you want to teach your child what is a fish called anchovy.

BTS members are world figures but they live in a house less than 50% of the value of a singer who never really became famous outside of Korea

[NB] Hybe revealed to have attempted to acquire SM last year
Yknocker replied to pinkpanda_spirit's topic in Netizen Nation
I don't think Edam Entertainment will join the fray. -
It means IU, who is effectively a company owner, can raise twice as much cash as a BTS member, who is a world figure.
-
Lee Jieun could buy a house in the countryside, like the family of ex-IZOne Lee Chaeyon and Itzy's Lee Charyoung , to live like an Empress. However, by placing herself to there, she now gets associated with the highest echelon of Korean society which was probably her intention.
-
IU bought the palace with cash. RM and Jimin will have to wait a bit before they can raise $11.7 mil worth of cash
-
The point is because IU is (effectively) an owner of a company she lives in a house twice as expensive as those of RM and Jimin.

Rollin's low views tell that most of the people who listened to Rollin at Spotify were the same people who promoted it However Rollin will remain a domestic act and Brave Girls as a failed attempted by disenfranchised men in Korea to overturn the apple cart.
