Because, although she is now better known in Asia because of her dramas, she is a strange name in the West. She is mostly a domestic singer, with virtually no foreign activities, and if she is seen to be held in the same regard with the two major acts of 3rd generation, foreign fans will be quite confused (although she is at least known to the foreign fans because of those who shipped her with Jungkook).

IZ*ONE's original lineup? (Most likely fake.)
Yknocker replied to Chang Yuanying's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Kaeun's fans try to ignore the PD48 mess. She is stuck on an agency which mostly produces B-grade actress which will probably be her ultimate fate. -
These people had concerts at the Chamshil Olympic Stadium, which normally admits 65,000 but for concert purposes the capacity is around 45,000. 1995 - Stevie Wonder (Pop) 1996 - Michael Jackson (Pop) 1999, 2001, 2018 - HOT(1st Gen Kpop) 2001, 2014 - god(1GK) 2004 - Elton John(Pop) 2005 - Shinhwa(1GK) 2006 - Metallica(Rock) 2007 - Lee Seung Hwan(Ballad) 2008, 2010 - Cho Yong Pil (Pre-Kpop) 2010 - Lee Seung Chul (Ballad) 2010, 2014 - JYJ (2st Gen Kpop) 2012 - Lady Gaga (Pop) 2013 - Lee Moon Sae(Ballad) 2014, 2017 - Seo Taiji (Pre-Kpop) 2015 - Paul McCartney(Pop) 2017 - EXO (3rd Gen Kpop) 2017 - Coldplay (Rock) 2018, 2019 - BTS (3GK) Also, on 2015, Big Bang had a concert at the Sang'am soccer stadium, which has a similar capacity as Chamshil. (It is rare for Sang'am to allow concerts) \\\ However, after BTS, the third generation of Kpop has gotten a bit weaker, and I don't think another act will try to do a concert at Chamshil, which needs 2 days to justify the expense, so at least 90,000 people have to pay north of $110 to get in. Out of the 2nd generation, only JYJ, which has drowned in a host of problems, and Big Bang, which also has its share of mess, have succeeded having a concert at Chamshil, or Sang'am (similarly sized). And out of the 3rd generation, only Exo and BTS, both worldwide names, have managed this honor. However, given the way things are going, in a couple years someone is on the road of having a concert at the Chamshil. That singer is not someone you can imagine to have a huge concert, although some of you might have guessed who is she just looking at my sig. A certain singer, who became KPop's senior singer at the age of 21, actually has much more fans at the age of 26 after the success of her drama and even if she has a concert at Chamshil on 2022, she will still be 29. Unlike BTS and Exo, who have had huge concerts out of Korea, the singer I am talking about can't even do a venue larger than 10,000 outside of Korea, but she might reach at the same level as them solely because of her domestic popularity. I hope there is a new star act which will arise from the ashes and manages to enter Chamshil before the singer who would be in her 15th year on the year 2022, but I don't see it now.

True. valuable members should be treated better and they should not be expected to carry less valuable members

Right. Some people have to lose in order to make KPop greater. It is a fact of life

The famous Chinese historian Sima Qian got his genitals cut off after he defended General Li Ling, who was forced to surrender to the Huns after abandoned by the main forces. Now an eunuch, she (eunuchs are referred as 'she' in some cultures) contemplated why the righteous often do not get their reward and die miserably while scoundrels get all the juicy posts and die in luxury. She never could come to a conclusion, which became the main theme of her "Book of the Grand Historian"(written around 80 BCE), the most definite history book on ancient China. === Showbiz is big business, and now KPop is a worldwide industry, a lot of money is in stake as well. So, it is inevitable that money will be involved, and some people will win and some people will be thrown to the gutter. Given the way money moves, I don't think anything will happen to IZone since Japan is also involved. X1 might be involved, although to what degree nobody can really predict. There are no good solutions to this, since touching a group is a major business decision. I don't think their post IZone/X1 careers will be great, but they at least would run with the money. I wrote about IU, whom I call Kpop's least useful singer (Klus) because her domestic, sleepy style of music is very detrimental to KPop's worldwide growth (although she finally did sing a useful song (BBiBBi) on 2018 after ruining KPop for 11 long years.) IU is famous for having the most Grand Prizes stiffed in the history of Korean Pop. She was cheated of the Grand Prize at Golden Disk and Seoul Music Awards on 2011-12, and most blatantly she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award, instead of a Grand Prize which was expected (she was eligible for the Artist of the Year award and was expected to receive it), on 2014 MAMA where she became the laughing stock of the entire world. But, although it was cruel for IU (who finally received the Golden Disk Digital Grand Prize on 2018, probably the only grand prize she will ever receive (I don't count Melon) in her career, in her 11th year) to be stiffed of Grand Prizes for all these years, it was a correct choice in my opinion. Nobody would be paying hundreds of dollars to see Lee Jieun win a Grand Prize in a foreign country where she was a virtual unknown. (She only became famous outside of Korea because of her drama with Kim Soohyun in 2015, the only drama of hers which does matter to foreign fans; out of her subsequent dramas, only Hotel Del Luna became something of a minor hit for the foreign fans. ) and honoring her would give a false impression that Kpop is honoring someone who does not promote it, does not sing songs palatable to foreign fans and does not do anything to gain foreign support. By giving the awards to acts popular outside of Korea, and denying it to someone with no company mates, no foreign presence and no possibility of a foreign outrage, the award masters helped to maintain Kpop's worldwide popularity. (Then why IU was given a Grand Prize in the end? that was to silence the Exo-Ls about giving the Grand Prize to BTS, since IU should have received a grand prize in 2011 instead of 2018 when her career as a singer was closing down. She has released a grand total of one song since her Grand Prize.) KPop is cruel, I admit it. But business is business, and sometimes, although it will be unfair to the victims, measures which will maximize the profit for the organizers and Kpop in general have to be taken in order to promote kpop better.

IZ*ONE's original lineup? (Most likely fake.)
Yknocker replied to Chang Yuanying's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
IZOne now focuses on Japan more, and it is likely that they will decide IZOne will be more profitable in Japan than in Korea where they will be met against the anti fans. From the beginning, I said Kim Chaewon should not be there and Han Chowon should be there. IZOne has weak vocals. Cho Yuri's vocals cannot carry a song. It will only produce songs palatable for the Japanese, not Koreans, anyways. -
"Everyone around the world thinks Kpop is all about BTS."
Yknocker replied to satoori's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Meanwhile the K-O-R-E-A-S, especially the older ones, ship the trot signer Song Gain, and also the balladist/domesticist/isolationist/the singer who did the most to undermine KPop, Lee Jieun. -
IZ*ONE's original lineup? (Most likely fake.)
Yknocker replied to Chang Yuanying's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Elsewhere, I wrote that Miyu won't debut. Yoon Jongshin, who brought Miyu to Korea, is now no longer involved with Mystic, which is run by Cho Yongchul, best known for developing - IU. Cho Yongchul wants someone young, so elsewhere I wrote that when a young trainee (about 20) was introduced to Mystic, Miyu was done. Since I have watched IU for all these time, I am quite good at predicting the fate of trainees in places where Lee Jieun had been involved. -
IZ*ONE's original lineup? (Most likely fake.)
Yknocker replied to Chang Yuanying's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Not in Korea. If the rigging is confirmed, they are done in Korea unless the rigged members are cut They will just stay in Japan. -
Nothing will turn out from this. It is now too late to do a BY9. MNet/CJ will just ignore all request to compensate the victims, who will be relegated to the bottom of the entertainment world, and will mostly make X1 travel the world so it can avoid the angry Korean fans who will continue to hate the members for a long time. After 5 years, X1 members will probably take the money and run, since it is unlikely that they will be welcome in any groups and none of them are solo material. Cho Seungyeon might find a career in Japan or China, but that would probably be the last casual fans will hear about them.

Love Scenario was the last organic hit of kpop
Yknocker replied to Drama Drama Drama's topic in Random
It is true. It was the last hit to mesmerize Korea as a whole - after that the general picture became too fractured for an organic hit to rule Korea -
Lee Jieun is like an old dictator still clinging to hang on to power, although the supporters have all moved away. Her drama enabled her to embolden herself so she could go out and beat around others again. It is likely that because Super Junior is coming back on Oct 14, IZOne will come back on Oct 21 and Kpop's Greatest Deadweight is likely to come back on Oct 25(she usually comes back on Fridays now). And, it is possible that BTS might release an album on Oct 28 after its concert. It will be a very interesting end of Oct, but if IZone cannot contain IU, the latter will continue to plague KPop in the 2020s. Laboum almost succeeded putting IU into back in the bottle. But Lee Hyori gave her a chance and Laboum imploded because of the antics of one of the members. Given that IZOne's songs have not been too impressive, I think a copernican approach is needed. But IZOne's policy is to produce a song which is palatable to Japan, which has different tastes, so it is unlikely to do well against the songs of Lee Jieun, geared toward the K-O-R-E-A-N audience. Lee Jieun does not intend to fight BTS this year ; that would be next year, like when she actually did beat both Exo and BTS on 2017. IU tends to do great every 3 years, like 2011, 2014 and 2017, so she is saving all of her new weaponry for the final showdown against BTS on next year (more on that when it materializes). But she can beat IZOne, because IZOne has too many people telling what it has to do. Also it does not help that 9 of the 12 members respect IU, leaving only Lee Chaeyeon, Nako and Hitomi who are hostile to the Loen singer. This showdown will be very, very interesting because if she beats IZOne, next year she will lead all domesticists against BTS. It will be worldwide armies vs Korea.

Welcome to "HOTEL DEL LUNA" Thread; Starring Yeo Jin-Goo & IU
Yknocker replied to Bella D'Amour's topic in Dramas
That drama with bang Minah has been all pre-recorded. (It is not new anyways ; it is a Japanese comic, and already filmed in Taiwan with Koo Hyesun as the main actress) -
One thing with Japanese comics is that once it gets popular, it gets tooooo long. This is a modern update of Kare-kano, which got messy as it dragged along. Since the creator of this comic book has tasted money, it will probably be dragged way long, with relatives from both sides appearing and leading it to a Korean-style makjang (which has been now influencing a lot of Japanese pop culture).

Looks like Lee Jieun appeared in another indie film (the man is Yeon Woojin. The premise is Woojin goes around and talks to 4 people in random; LJ is one of them)

Lee Jieun's new drama will feature Yeo Jingoo as the male lead https://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=241&aid=0002881766 (In Korean) It will begin to air on Aug, so it looks like Lee Jieun would not promote till October at the earliest.
