If Rose did not choose to release her album on March 12, IU would have pre-released Coin and ended the run of Brave Girls. Not doing so because it might interfere with Rose will probably cost IU her Yearly #1 in Melon. If IU had killed Rollin by releasing Coin, it is likely that the Brave Girls craze would have subsided , showing it could NOT beat giants . There will be no way to learn what deals went on between Brave Brother and IU, and BB was 'kind' enough to not show BB to IU. However, it seems Rollin is about to defeat Lilac in Melon, and if that happens, it is likely that Rollin will take the #1 in the Melon Yearly Chart, something which eluded IU for all these years. Moral: A true champion strangles all potential enemies no matter how insignificant they might look.

[theqoo] Number of viewers of K-pop idols’ online concerts

Meanwhile a certain senior singer was too afraid to have an online concert -
In Korean pop, there is no standard. Standards can be bent at will by the award organizers without any explanation or justirfication MAMA awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award to a 21 years old on 2014. It can do anything

Good Day was SOTY despite of being released the previous year Once again IU's previous history is kicking her

Unlike England who fought , with some intermissions, to destroy the French Revolution for more than 20 years, IU's war against KPop failed on 2021 when she finally surrendered to the force of Kpop when KakaoM surrendered to Spotify on March 11, 2021. Lee Jieun had an enormous influence over KakaoM, so she could have said no if she didn't feel like re-joining spotify, but apparently she thought fighting KPop was no longer worthwhile. As a consolation prize for the surrender of the singer who was the greatest threat against KPop's Expansion for all these years, and the last remaining holdout of the old order in KPop, Spotify gave her these http://img.etoday.co.kr/pto_db/2021/03/600/20210327003203_1599621_1200_1680.jpg The surrender of the last holdout and the one person who had the ability to end Kpop created a small stir. It was like the surrender of Chief Joseph of Nez Perce and Geronimo of the Apaches, chiefs who fought the US Cavalry for many years. The surrender of Iu affects me a lot since I wrote about IU since 2012, far before many Kpop fans joined it. From the start, her fight was lonely and futile. When she debuted, already KPop was the dominant genre and she was the last remaining of her breed of singers. Despite of that, because she was the last vocalist remaining, she was kind of dotted and fettered by the older generation of vocalists, who expected her to revive the dying genre of vocalism. Although she did not topple the order of KPop, she did succeed making the vocal genre survive longer. On 2014 she came within an inch of overthrowing KPop's genre, but SM and MNet stopped her. The very fact that SM and MNet had to join forces to defeat one 21 years old was nothing other than amazing. However, with the rise of BTS, her position became difficult. Before BTS rose up, IU was the leader of the anti-SM faction, and no matter what, she was able to form an alliance of companies not named after Lee Sooman. however, after BTS had defeated Exo decisively, IU suddenly had no coalition to form. Everyone was happy to live under the new structure created by BTS and none of them were willing to fight the new order. IU tried a few things, even a collabo with BTS' Suga, to turn this around but by late 2020 she was all by herself, with no more allies to fight against KPop . Chanhyuk (AKMU) might have become an ally but the force of BTS was too big. So she could not form coalitions to fight the major KPop acts, and hopefully overthrow it, any more. Her war against KPop has ended. The Trottists are now in a league of their own, separate and not mixing. When will Korean Pop have another hero against KPop? - Maybe never.

It seems concerts are resuming, and KPop has to resume them to recover lost revenue. Korea's biggest concert venue is the Chamshil Olympic Stadium, and I think not one, not two but THREE concerts will be held there this year. First, BTS has to perform the overdue concerts before it goes anywhere because the Korean fans will balk. However, BTS won't be the only one holding concerts. A certain person, who you probably guessed when you saw the face on my avatar, wanted to hold a concert at the Chamshil, and Lee Jieun will probably hold it as soon as BTS' schedule is finalized. Director Koreeda can wait ; concert would be her priority. But she won't be the last one. Lim Youngwoong, the trottist, is pressured to have a concert there. Older fans will do anything to attend the concert. So he will have one later this year. So, the biggest venue in Korea will have concert by 1) a bona fide KPop act 2) a soloist who only became useful to Kpop in 2011 and 3) a trottist not well known outside of Korea, although his fans had a billboard advertising him to the New Yorkers at Times Square before.

One day after IU's new release, Rollin is firmly at #2 and will probably overtake Lilac sometime next week.

For many years I wrote about Lee Jieun, who became Kpop's Senior Singer on 2014 when MAMA gave her a Lifetime Achievement Award despite of her contributing NOTHING toward Kpop's conquest of the world, and instead managed to hinder it significantly. But, life's irony is such that someone whose 'contribution' to KPop is almost nil sang her first Kpop song , BBiBBi, in her 10th year anniversary. In law, if you did even the bare minimum to someone you are taking care of, you cannot be accused for neglect. IU did the bare minimum to KPop, but because BBiBBi hit 200 million views, her name gets inscribed into the pantheon of KPop stars. A lot of acts toil for their entire lives to make a mark in KPop and to the world. Many of them fail. Only a few succeed to the very top. Yet someone, whose entire contribution to KPop consisted of one song until she released Celebrity earlier this year, is entered into the pantheon of greatest KPop acts of all time. Is it fair, or not, I don't know. But history will now record IU as a KPop singer because of her sole contribution to KPop.

The director for that show was a sub director for Hyori's homestay and this is his first show as a main director which is why IU is appearing there to encourage him

On the contrary. I am a student of history, and when weaker countries begin to act up against stronger countries the balance of power is shattered. USA had to spend two decades recovering from Vietnam, a weak country in southeast asia. Brave Girls is a challenge, and real champions break such threats thoroughly so others would be afraid challenging.

A lot of acts before her had the same idea, but once acts lower then begin to jump over, no one takes you seriously When IU was humiliated by Laboum and Suran, it took Psy and Lee Hyori to revive her popularity. Now BG is meeting with the likes of Yoo Jaesuk and all the famous show hosts so this time she can't launch a revival like the 2nd half of 2017
