BTS was supreme all around the world, except maybe SE Asia.
However,
it lost Korea to a certain figure back in 2021
>12:39: Comparison of popularity (by video views) in Korea vs worldwide. In Korea, BTS is 2nd (6.8%), after IU (8%).
For the first time in BTS' career, it lost a country to someone else, and unfortunately the enemy was its long-time seasoned foe IU, whose takeover of Korea from BTS would eventually cause a giant harm to the Hybe act which is unlikely to be reversed.
BTS was so ahead of everyone else that no one could attack it
But the singer who proved to be the least useful for the advance of KPop defeated it at home.
and that's where its journey basically ended.

LJ is the eternal phoenix, the immortal warrior, she has slain all 2nd gen challengers and 3rd gen challengers, and she will do the same with IVE.
It is a new challenge for Lee Jieun who will have to fight people who are at least 10 years younger than her
-
IVE finally won the Grand Prize from MAMA , which was so elusive to KPop's Senior Singer Lee Jieun, who was instead given the Lifetime Achievement Award from MAMA on 2014, making her significantly older than her physical age since she was now a Senior Singer from that point of time.
IVE is already selling close to 2 million copies of albums, and has taken #1 in the annual melon Now, the only thing remaining for IVE in Korea seems to be putting the singer who had significantly overstayed her welcome in KPop out of business
For the first time ever, Lee Jieun is NOT the most prominent singer of Kakao Entertainment. She is now less prominent than IVE, since she does not have a grand prize from MAMA while IVE does.
A big adjustment in Kakao will be inevitable since now IVE is more prestigious than Lee Jieun, whose only weapon now is her age which is kinda important in Asia.
However, they don't have enough time to dislodge the singer who overstayed her welcome in KPop by at least 10 years. They will have to complete their mandatory endeavor of ridding Lee Jieun from KPop by, I think, 2025
When do you think they will accomplish the monumental task of removing Lee Jieun from contention? 2023, 2024 or 2025? I think 2024 might be the year of IVE's peak an also the year they finally removes Lee Jieun from contention and shutting her influences out from KPop once for all
-
Before they go to their next stages they have to apologize to a certain person who has the power to block their futures.
I doubt they will bother, though.

Some people say Trump is coming back in 2024. About that I don't have any opinion since I don't really care about it.
However, I care a lot about Lee JIeun's return to power in 2024.
The South Korean politicians betrayed Hybe, and the congressman who helped to expose the Produce rigging scandal recently said BTS won't get the military exemption.
BTS will be the most vulnerable in early 2014 when Suga, JHope and RM would be in the military at once.
Which will be when IU will strike back with all she has.
Who will benefit from this lull is harder to tell but my guess is IU is the best to exploit this once in a lifetime opportunity to return to power.
The old order wins in the end, and KPop's Greatest Anachronism will rule Kpop again in 2024, to the chagrin of the worldwide fans.

KPop's Greatest Anachronism.

Long , long ago, a Strange Creature ruled a rock named Koryo.
Its people were poor but the Strange Creature, whose name no one knew, ruled it with an iron fist.
She looked like a woman in her 20s, but they say she was at least 1,300 years old. She stopped aging for some reason no one could figure out.
The Strange Creature called Koryo's digitals, and as long as she controlled it, no one listening to music in there could escape her influence.
Seven boys were selected by a wizard named Bang, whose aim was conquering the entire world.
Bang was aware of the Strange Creature but he and his Seven boys had as little to do with the Strange Creature as possible.
One day the Seven boys left Koryo.
They slayed dragons, conquered mountains and oceans, and eventually came to control the whole world.
As the Seven Kings of the World, they returned to the rock in triumph when they saw the strange creature, which was able to control her size at will, as big as a huge mountain.
Although the Seven Kings of the World ruled the entire globe (except the rock where they were born at), they were humans and the Creature was not human.
They had their share of weapons and attacked her.
The Strange Creature was hurt, and she began to shout.
"Even though you conquer the world,
I control the rock of Koryo.
The people of Koryo prefers to hear my songs, rather than yours.
You are just popular around the world.
As long as I own Koryo, I will win in the end!"
and then she disappeared.
They had a celebration and left Koryo to rule their realms, and as soon as they left, the Creature appeared again and undid everything the Seven Kings did in there.
It happened again, again and again.
Eventually the Seven Kings began to decline because of age.
Their heydays ended in time.
However, the Strange Creature, whose control of the digitals did not diminish just because she had aged, still controlled the rock.
So she outlives the Seven Kings of the World and continues to terrorize the people of Koryo long after the age of the Seven Kings has passed.
One of them complained to Bang before the latter grew old and died. "Why didn't you buy out the digital service the Strange Creature was a part of?"
"Sorry, pal. I was short sighted . I should have bought it and destroyed it and that would have ended the Creature's days but I thought I could design a platform which was better than what the Creature had. I should have thought about the possibility that the Koryo people's habit does not change too often and they would continue to use that digital service associated with the Creature no matter how unfair or inconvenient it could go."
Moral: Ownership of one small rock outlasts the Control of the Entire World.

I don't have a bias, but my favorite subject's age is 1,343 years old but people sometimes think she is still in her early 20s.

I mean I understand that mods don't really care about banning anyone since this forum is dying and they be latching into anyone these days. You know I love OH, I always loved OH, and OH was always my no. 1 home where I met some of the best people in my life. Especially, my best friend and this forum will always carry a deep meaning for me.
As a Kamilia, I am pissed off. Considering Hara struggled with a lot of netizen hate for the most deranged reasons and she has gone through a lot of abuse. Comparing someone's death to a military enlisting? For a cry's out loud, I understand that you all have real lives to attend, but spare at least five seconds of your busy schedule and hand out a few warnings.
How much do you need evidence?

I did not violate the rules because I only mentioned Hara's death, and pointed out her mother's behavior.

When Goo Hara died her estranged mother showed from the blue and claimed her share. She eventually received around 35-40% of Hara's estate, it is said.
Recently, an unmarried fisherman in Korea was killed when his ship capsized. His mother, whom he did not see for 53 years, showed up and since he was unmarried she and his half brother, who does not give a shit about his mother's former family, showed up to claim the compensation for $400,000, leaving nothing for the dead man's aunt who raised him.
Whether you can get angry or not, that can't be changed since even if the parents did not care for the child, a parent is a parent.
Something like that will happen in 2023, if BTS is dragged to the military as some K-O-R-E-A-N men wish so badly.
Because of changes in Kpop, if BTS goes down, there is no capable person to block the Senior Singer, IU, from re-climbing the Kpop Throne, since even aespa and IVE had been defeated by IU in the last 12 months.
IU's looooooooong history of contributing nothing to KPop is well known. She managed her first 10 years of career contributing absolutely nothing to KPop, a legend by its own right.
Her 10th year anniversary song BbiBbi accidentally hit 200 million view, which made her a Kpop singer, but her first real KPop songs did not arrive until 2021, and even then she continued to release sleepy ballads like Winter Sleep.
When BTS is dragged to the military, IU will arrive with her supporters like Lee Mujin to re-take the initiative of Kpop, something no Kpop acts can prevent.
How will KPop progress from now? I have said elsewhere that IU finally gets to do what she wanted to Kpop, reverting it to sleepy ballads, isolationist lyrics and emphasis on vocals, something the ifans do not give a shit about.
IU will battle and defeat all the KPop acts in town.
The only hope is some famous Western director offers her a role in a major production which will tie her down for at least 2 years, but given her history, she would rather let have some other actress have that role so she can continue to rule over Kpop of which she was not really a part of and had contributed almost nothing for a long time.

There was a great conqueror who was born in a town ruled by an old hag, about 1,330 years old.
She looked like she was in her 20s because of some magical power.
Since she controlled everything in the town the conqueror could not do anything so he left the town.
He went out and conquered a great patch of land, for thousands of miles.
He triumphantly returned to his hometown, but the old hag, now in her 1,340s, said ,
although you had conquered the world, you are just the boy who played on MY backyard when you were young.
No matter how much land you had conquered, you are nothing to my eyes.
And everyone in the town backed her!
The conqueror, dismayed, left the town without saying anything and she and her minions continued to rule the town.
So the Great Conqueror had vanquished everywhere, except his hometown!

However
there is still one person who is NOT impressed by all of these
since she still owns K-O-R-E-A.

on their absence

It is because of Tezuka Osamu. While he is famous as the father of the Japanese anime industry he did not know lions did not live in the jungle, and titled this comic book about lions "Leo the King of Jungle", translated as Kimba the White Lion and becoming the basis for the Disney movie Lion King.
If Mr. Tezuka had been more conversant on the geography of Africa we would not have this kind of confusion.

Japan's Gold Disk Award gave 10 awards to BTS.
txt, Enhhypen and Itzy were also awarded
While Kpop's sworn enemy was not given anything since she did not release a Japanese album
---
For whatever reason BTS sat out of the Golden Disk award in Korea in January
so the sole awardee was a Sworn Enemy of Kpop
Basically BTS has chosen to concentrate outside of Korea while KPop's Sworn Enemy will continue to wreck havoc in the domestic scene.

KPop's Senior Singer has fought acts after acts after acts for the last 12 years, and although aespa came close to driving the Senior Singer out of existence, the latter sang Strawberry Moon to stop aespa's rise.
Now, NMIxx has debuted while the Senior Singer is filming something so she can't pay attention to singing.
NMixx is rare that it has two strong vocals, Lily M and Oh Haewon.
However, Lily M has the Western style of vocals, being the "Roseanne" of NMixx, and it is said Haewon's vocals are like that of ex-JYPer Baek Yerin, which is more palatable to the westerners.
While it is good for NMixx to have two vocalists who are more suited to the foreigners, whether it can drive the Greatest Deadweight of KPop who always checks once in a while to wreck havoc on newer acts out of town is another question.
If it fails like IZone, Itzy or aespa to eliminate the greatest threat against all new acts, then it will , like the acts I have mentioned above, be trampled by the Senior Singer who would rather not see any younger competition threaten her position.

Few Kpop lyrics remain relevant for too long.
There has been a trend to ignore the lyrics and just concentrate on the music and dancing.
A strange creature has won the Lyricist award at least 4 times.
How many KPop songs did she write?
One , BbiBbi.
Few of her lyrics are relevant to the universal mind, and her inability to write in English does not help too much either.
And the award committees gave the Lyricist award to someone who can't write a KPop lyric to save her life.
2022 began with an ominous note with Korea's greatest lyricist, who only contributed for one of the top 100 KPop songs of all time, grabbing all the prizes.
I think KPop should be more open and giving awards to non Koreans who write great KPop lyrics, instead of honoring someone who can only write songs for the domestic fans.

While Big Mouse is directed by her Del Luna director, it features a couple people Lee Jieun is not comfortable with, Lee Jongsuk, and her lifelong rival Lim Yoona.
That might be she did not include the names of the cast, who are unlikely to have eaten anything from the truck bearing the Senior Singer's name.
(The name is not IU, but "Manwolri", a reference to Jang Manwo in Del Luna.)
