Yup I don't think sm thought exo would be so hard to dispose off/replace like they did with suju/hot/shinhwa. EXO CBX, Xiumin, and Kyungsoo have brought in load of new fans. Usually sm stans move onto new groups, but since NCT's music is so different, they seem to stick with exo(take that sm).

Maybe SM are going with a hip hop concept for NCT because usually those concepts do well internationally(which is what SM aims for with NCT and their future global subunits). However SM can't pull it off well, aren't used to doing those concepts, and don't have the producers for that type of concept. If you notice all the global hip hop kpop groups like bts, got7 or big bang. Most of the title tracks and others are composed/produced/or written by group members, sm should give their groups more creative liberty. But, then its sm lol.
