Hyunmin had some really cute moments in that dog video. Particularly his face as the fluffy butt rejects him. Fortunately the labrador retriever is a dog of taste.

I agree with you on this pretty much. I think people are making more of a point of being difficult (more than it really is) because a lot of the favourites right now are lower ranked class wise who are either evidently not good dancers or made a lot of mistakes, so it's an attempt at justification I guess, or to preempt criticism with this an excuse. If it was all A class who had risen to the top popularity wise, it wouldn't be said half as much imo. I'm glad to see I don't stand alone as the only one with an interest in Hyunmin. Picking 10 out of 10 shows he has an idea of how to play to his strengths and he does appear to be on the stronger team there, so I think sneaking through the first cut is possible for him at least, enough to gain his footing a little in terms of singing and dancing. (I'm sure he's done a small amount with K-Tigers but it's not realistically what they focus on there for obvious reasons.)

A google sheet with tabs with rankings based on insta/youtube/etc would make the breakdown the others are talking about fairly easy, if you're familiar with it. I think it's very readable regardless, and it's nice to have at all, so thank you for the effort.

He probably doesn't need that level though imo (though with it, it would be easier to guarantee). Woojin's path to the Top 11, if it is 11 this season, is quite narrow and a huge amount comes down to how young he is; a lot of older viewers just won't vote for someone under 15. But with a few favourable edits/moments (the other side of the youth coin; these are very easy with someone his age or who looks young, smiley and cute; Mina's section in the healthy eating segment last season for example was incredibly endearing), I think 9th/10th/11th is within range. A rank plus Be Mine's positive reviews, and performing through illness plus tears? To be harsh and analytical about it, if I was Mnet and wanted to give him a jump start, that's great material. But it really does come down to whether or not that's the plan. I will say this though; his company was one of the few allowed to announced they had someone taking part early, so he's in the company of Moonbok/Nu'est/Samuel despite probably not being as well known as any of them. It can mean nothing, and plans change, but harboring a little bit of hope doesn't hurt.

I'd did mine super quick while multi-tasking, so I wouldn't be surprised if yours is more accurate. I think Woojin is probably good till the competition turns single-vote based. A lot of people will put him in their 11 because he's memorable and very distinct almost immediately; his youth stands out in the sea of faces (just like his smile did in Pick Me!). It just depends if he can transfer that over to solo voters or not and whether his screen time gives him the opportunity.

I did a quick spread sheet of the tables so far up to , giving three votes for red, two for orange and one for yellows. Rank came out as: Lots of room for editing and such, and the tie breaks were alphabetical so hardly accurate. But just did it out of curiosity.

This reeks of media play. They'll provide whatever they'll legally expected to, no one is going to starve or have their bladder burst, and Mnet are certainly not gonna open themselves up to potential lawsuits or cases to the FTC post show, but they'll get a few trainees to say something to that effect so it shows how ~serious~ the show is, to make the competition seem more intense.

For the time being, soft committing myself to voting Daniel and Woojin. I suspect the latter is probably a little young for mnet to want in the final unit, but he seems extremely solid and has good presence for someone his age. It feels like the slots for the group are filling fast with boys who seem likely to gather a strong voting base (though we don't even know how many slots there are!), looking forward to seeing how things change and shakedown once the actual episodes start to hit. Pity that Hyunmin seems to be the least popular for the day, I thought the martial arts were cool (and his little whispered aigoo after the intro made me laugh).

His fans used bots. I thought this was pretty apparent from the way his votes acted. A few of the others also indulged in this afterwards, but none to the extent Inho's votes show. I'd say the actual most popular on average across the various social media are Jinsub, Doha, Haejoon, Youngdoo and Jinseok.

This is referring to Liveworks, since all the trainees were signed to them pre-show, and is also why he follows up with 'standing on a good stage'. He's speaking of his time on the show.

Was literally about to post something of this nature. Also, the idea that Sangmin was somehow rigged/forced out is laughable and greatly overestimates how invested Mnet or Liveworks would be in him (or Sunghyun or Jinkyu or whoever finishes 5th or replaces him for that matter). I'm presuming that someone will buff up Sky's numbers (ideally Insoo but he'll need a bit more vote support to manage that) with the other 4 serving basically as cover/understudies for performances, as opposed to the 23/4 being the "main cast". But each being added to a unit could be interesting, though not sure where I'd put them.

Messy. Anyways, I half expected this since they're modeled after AKB and AKB also has trainees to fill in for people when they're busy, unaffiliated to any 'units'. Makes sense for the year (especially if some boys commit to Produce101) and especially if the theater shows continue passed one year. Hoping for Insoo, Sungho is a lock, then I suspect Yeontae and Hyunuk, but hard to call the other one. David might be in contention? A White vote to bring back Junseo seems highly likely too? Depends on how they do the voting too. If it's one person picked a day, then red roll over votes could very easily lead to all red revival (minus... Jinkyu? Alex? Not sure who was least popular in that unit.)

There are slight advantages to the immunity units bring. Best case of this is Woojin, who has been by far the most consistently strong vocalist in the show and has adapted to each concept very well, yet he was not featured in the mv or teasers, not given any screentime in the shows introductory episodes, was sitting near the bottom of the popularity ranking and was given arguably the least flattering profile shot. I'd guess the majority of the viewerbase wouldn't have even known he was a singer till Sky's first performance. Yet he's still there because he works extremely well as a member of Sky and compliments pretty much everyone in the group and brings a unique vibe to the performances (I would call him the soul of Sky tbh, and I feel like his costume colour for Candy backs that up ). If it was Produce101 style, he'd have been gone during the first cut. So minor bonus to that system, and now that it might genuinely be individual cuts, it has given him a fighting chance. I wish he was getting featured for the vocal battle, that being said. If it were up to me, I'd center my cuts on getting it down to 24 on Red and Green's minor members, though I think I'd be okay losing Yongkwon and Sangmin. Everyone else from Sky/Yellow I feel has more than proven themselves, and White have the popularity to back up staying even if they need a bit of rejigging performance wise. Also for the 'Final 6', I'd like to propose they continue borrowing from AKB. If the theater is successful, why not continue it and have each single performed by 6(or whatever number) selected members, and have that lineup change a little single to single, rather than completely doing away with the other 18 boys and wasting the investment already put into them.

If Mnet was being literal about this, it wouldn't be that hard to do, especially if they are kept in units. 4 units pass the show, have the units perform on a rotating schedule, that way no one performs more than twice a week? Plus the concerts not being more than two hours? Hardly an nonviable schedule, and leaves plenty of time for rehearsals, training and outside work if they get it.

Just in relation to the support event; it's not a popularity contest though. They allow you to vote for 6 boys to make your own unit (which I think confirms a final line-up of 4 units with 6 members each?) and yeah they're arranged from 1 down, but as I understand it, they just have to hit a certain amount of votes in a week to be given certain rewards? That's it. It's not meant to an absolute reflection of popularity, nor an outright competition. The ranks don't matter and are more or less totally irrelevant unless you decide to make them important arbitrarily; the vote count on an individual level does to get them prizes. And all them having you vote for 6 accomplishes if giving boys who are likely a lot of people's third or fourth favourites (say, Woojin) an actual chance of getting some votes, compared to if it was just vote for your favourite. In that way it's a lot nicer.

Nah, even with their version of Adore U, the choreo wasn't complex but Wooyoung made it look awkward. I have no issue with people who have a lot of developing to do in all areas (you could say thats the entire purpose of the 365 days; they don't need everyone to be debut ready right now) but if the likes of Hocheol or Jaehyun are starting at 0... Wooyoung is in the minuses. I can only presume if the Hocheol elimination really does stick, he's Produce 101 bound!

Just to weigh in as a long time lurker, I would presume with the recent AKB48 project influence on K-Pop/Mnet (NCT, Produce101 and Boys24 all owe a little to the 48 groups), it's not a reach to speculate the theatre performances might work in a similar way to theirs. So just to blindly apply that to what we know about Boys24 with the 365 day performances All speculation as I said, but I could see it being the best option for set-ups. Also, since as members of Boys24 they wont be officially debuted yet, I fully expect to see a fair number of these guys show up for the next season of Produce, especially the younger ones. Building individual popularity and awareness of the group (while another guy gets extra performance time covering the absent one's spot) = everybody wins, as DIA have shown.
