  1. CXK gonna be on next week's 天天å‘上! (Preview starts ard 1:28:00) NGL, I'm actually more hyped for RNG's appearance. asdfghjkl; so unexpected,so excited
  2. Hard to say; they suppressed a lot of people's screentime. There were rumors early on that it was because SING is under a competitor company, but I'm hazarding that it's also a combination of not!personal factors for why she's so un-favoured by Tecent. 1. Everything boils down to this: CN101 is a drama. Lai Meiyun does not make for a dramatic storyline/edits. Seriously, CN101 is not a idol competition, their guest speaker said it himself! Reality show! With emphasis on 'reality' to boot! 2. She could hold a tune and perform a choreography, right from the start of the show. Meiyun comfortably clears the minimum skill requirements for a girl group member, therefore the 逆风翻盘 storyline (current holders: Angela, WangJu, YCY) doesn't fit her. Heck she doesn't even forget lyrics/crack high notes, so there's no contrast to be had. 3. She's not 3A-mazing. I like her voice more than 3A tho So no highlight reels for her. 4. Originally the SING trio went for the CHN-style branding, but oh look there's Lu Xiao Cao! Who understandably attracts way more eyeballs with her tricks. I personally believe that if Xiao Cao wasn't in the competition they would've cut more of SING's initial evaluation into the broadcast and/or not splice it with SNH48's eval. RIP at least you guys tried. 5. Her popularity is there, but frankly speaking her fanbase (largely online community-based) is one that overlaps with CN101 as a whole. I.E. she doesn't draw in/retain additional audience groups, unlike 3A/Sunnee/YCY/WangJu. Bluntly put, if Meiyun didn't exist her target audience would've still found their way to CN101 fairly early on and latched onto someone else. 6. Thus, Tencent doesn't lose anything by cutting her screentime/suppressing her votes. If she weren't Aojuan's good friend she'd be in an even worse spot screentime-wise. Tencent can be pretty brutal with their screentime suppressions. ETA: ...I don't ever recall Dong Yue being a favourite rip. She'd got dissed on the regular for not being conventially pretty in addition to all the other stuff that was dug up. But more tellingly of her (lack of a) fanbase than the hate -- I didn't see all that much of a Dong Yue defense squad. Like there'd be a handful of comments going "oh she's pretty good actually / not ugly" but nothing like that YCY/MeiQi/Sunnee defense squad. No fan-promotion going on in the comments ala Meiyun either. Fu Jing's case is one of competitive inhibition; her 'character' in CN101 overlaps too much with XuanYi. I think with ZiXuan she got done really dirty by Tencent, between that horrid MV and then whatever æµ·è‰èˆž was trying to be. Her recent crying will get her a boost in popularity though. Audiences eat that kind of thing up when it's not seemingly-artificial / over-the-top, plus she got a meme out of it. Wang Si Cong's existence is a push though. I'd be surrpised if neither girl gets into the final lineup. Unless there are plans of a company debut within months of the CN101 ending.
  3. Oh nice! Thanks a lot EDIT: It's only the chorus though? Or does a full demo not exist D: There is no big rise (lol). What you're seeing is just a disconnect between CN & INTL audiences (because a lot of intl viewers aren't going to look up additional material of girls they weren't already interested in, and Tencent wasn't/still isn't showing much of Meiyun) / Tencent easing up on the suppression / MeiYun's fanbase finally getting to work. Can't comment about the CN general public, but she's a darling of many a CN online community. Like from early on the first few episodes you'd already find comments promoting her.
  4. If anyone has the DEMO version of ä¸è² é’春 (YCY-group's song) please share :D Also 別人家的å°å© is basically a (much) better æµ·è‰. I'm oddly into it despite the stage looking like a CNY broadcast Can totally imagine it becoming a hit with the linedancing aunties and/or the 抖音 crowd.
  5. Tencent's also fanning the flames with the way they edited EP6, I think. Not sure if it was just my misunderstanding/coincidence but there was a fairly high frequency of cuts to Yibo during Meiqi's segements. Ehh, I don't mean to push your buttons but Mnet didn't give me much reason to put in the extra effort to 'check the facts'. Realised pretty early on that the route she's going/her appeal is just not my thing; most of my anger was just salt that my picks didn't make it RIP. I guess I should be glad that I experienced PD101's Sohye -- After getting over the fact that she made it and remains popular I now watch competition varities with a better mindset lol. Less anger, more popcorn. And then CN101 Ep5 comes along and makes me want to flip my table at Tencent lmao EDIT: Anticipating the incoming downvotes :P EDIT2: Just realised, is our poll missing the option for the -I don't actually know how to key these two characters- 覅忒好group? (The one with the awkward body wave) Hopped onto OH in hopes of copypasting the characters in YT search cos the song's actually pretty catchy, but alas. EDIT3: Found it anyway; Original MV for the curious
  6. The rumour died before it was born lol. Meiqi's antis must be so disappointed. ETA: It was partially born from a leak/supposedly-insider acct that said that there was some romance going on in CN101; when Yibo-MeiQi was suggested the account owner was like "lol no if it was Yibo I'd have just said his name outright; he doesn't have enough clout to keep me from naming him if that was the case." so mean but so true In any case the rumour died within days. I was referring to the broadcasted stages; was just chimming in to say that Tencent didn't even try to save the performance lol. I'm a Sohye anti so there's no way I'll subject myself to a video focused on her -- in fact the only fancam I watched from PD101 was Kim Nayoung's 24hrs street performance fancam.
  7. They've been throwing ships at Yibo, to little avail lmao.
  8. I think WangJu's rank will crash the moment the voting structure goes into one-vote. I feel like her appeal like a bit like JMB's appeal from 202. In terms of both visuals and ability they're not top 11. (WangJu's no YCY, but she pales noticeably in comparison to Yamy), thus their supporters mostly like what they stand for. Thing with these kinds of 'fandom' is that they lack the must-vote-him/her-into-the-group/top1 mentality. I honestly don't think many of her 'fans' are going to flip the f*ck out if she doesn't make it. Making and spreading memes is easy, but that just means you have a positive(?) feeling towards the person. Voting (and boy is the top11 voting gonna be hardcore) is another matter altogether. I just realised that I have a tendency to reply to your posts lol. what can I say, you always bring up good discussion points Also CN101's production crew is a significant step below PD101's, so YCY isn't as 'well-hidden' as Sohye.Or maybe it's intentional to generate more drama/talk/views from YCY fans, haters, and wtfisthistrainwreck-neutral viewers.
  9. Each to their own; I can't objectively say that it was bad but for me the performance (even with the surprise at the end) was really lacking. Basically everything YingXi said. Though if I'm honest not a single dance group perf for this round caught my eye, so it's not just a 'cute' problem.
  10. It's already happening; just look at what happened with WangQin's group. Maybe it won't turn out like that post-debut since they'll (possibly?) have more time to prepare, but nothing Tencent has shown so far is giving me hope
  11. That's really debatable, and depends strongly on how badly her company pissed off Tencent. If Tencent keeps her screentime minimal her fanbase won't increase, which means ironically her chances get smaller the the bigger CN101 gets. With new eyeballs every episode but no screentime there's a very strong chance that other trainees will over take her, and with the top-est of spots already locked there are limited slots left. Already at this point she's facing direct 'competition' in that short-haired girl from MeiQi's group and WangJu. Both individuals having been getting quite positive responses from the latest two episodes while Sunnee's presence is very muted. Again, it most likely won't affect her existing fanbase, but will stop it from growing at a comparable pace to the other contending trainees; her existing fanbase (assuming little to no growth) cannot garauntee a debut. If her company makes up with Tencent they can totally copy CLN's storyline though, so there's still hope.
  12. Ep6 Non-spoiler thoughts: Man 3 hours is way long, I'm legit getting fatigued when I'm not even 2 hours into the episode. Wasn't a fan of YiBo's new hair style/colour before but damn he looks fine in this episode. also: Oh look, another pointless addition to the show's format! Favourite Performances: Yamy, AoJuan, Kimberly's groups. spoiler thoughts!
  13. I was hoping they were going to guest on a less fluff-filled episode, but alas.(TTXS is kinda like a informative variety show? Like a å¿«ä¹å¤§æœ¬è¥ with more substance to it. Some episodes they'll invite firefights/environmentals etc on as guests to share their experiences, or like try and promote traditional chinese arts. And then last week was a Mother's Day episode where they invited celeb moms and also some civillian moms that had interesting stories -- e.g. single mother of 4) The guys were cute and handled themselves well enough for their first mainstream broadcasted variety outing. I skip-watched through the episode cos the topic really wasn't interesting Here's to hoping they get to guest on more shows and hit it big Why rappers gotta be gangster tho.
  14. I finally found clip of YiBo that Tencent clipped into the EP2(or was it 3?) previews saying 'crying won't solve anything'. Wasn't in any of broadcasted episodes, but a BTS. As expected the words were directed to one notorious ZTT who was blanking out during practice and then started crying when YiBo asked her why she wasn't practising. Also I can't believe I've resorted to watching YiBo cuts on Bili to find it lmao YiBo cut of all(?) the BTS clips https://www.bilibili.com/video/av23818874 No subs, but mostly it's just him teaching the ABCD classes the choreography.
  15. Hah! I'm sure Tencent will do their utmost to exceed our expectations, then. Turn on the waterworks, I say! ...Actually I take that back. Episode 4 with all its crying gave me a bit of a headache. That and the way EP5 is being.. I'm seriously considering only watching the performance episodes 'live' from now on, and just watching reaction videos for the filler episodes instead. (There're a few channels on CN streaming site I recently followed that do a breakdown on how/why CN!PD101's performances/episodes look so much cheaper/worse than PD101/PD48's due to editing/producing/staging choices made, in addition to the usual reaction stuff.)
  16. !!! Thank you so much for sharing :D I'm a casual fan of JYJ and it's hard to get updates on their activities since they became persona non grata... Heck the only reason why I thought to check this thread is that I saw the announcement of this year's A-nation and that made me (immediately!) think of their a-nation performance of Get Ready. Gosh I'm so excited to hear Jae's singing again
  17. EP5 is loaded with irony to the point that I couldn't finish the episode. Ironic that the girls are being lectured over team spirit when it's their team spirit that kept them running. Ironic that it's Tao lecturing them about about team spirit. Ironic that the judge presiding over the race is lecturing the girls. But most of all...Ironic that the other guy talks about 'being real' (真人) is more important than the 'show' (秀) aspect of a reality show (真人秀). Like. Are you serious? With how this show has been? Hot damn there's a limit to how much bullshit I can take, and this episode has exceeded it. At this point I'm just here for a few of the girls and that's it. I'm even getting pissed off at how everytime YiBo shows up it's just to get teased by the girls. EDIT: Took off the spoiler tags since I didn't actually spoil anything that wasn't already in the teasers.
  18. Not really, the total number of girls going into the next round remains almost the same no? (61 in PD101 55+7 over here). What this new system does is create additional drama for the episode. Also drama for both the girls who are saved and the girls doing the saving. E.g. Yamy and the girl she saved got a lot of hate/heat, so did Kimberly to a lesser extent. I'll give it to Tencent though, they spun it enough that even those who did watch KR PD101 would probably not notice until pointed out.
  19. Lies! Our Meiyun is 216cm!! She said so herself! :P (no eng subs; I'm sure a subbed version is floating around somewhere)
  20. Just ask pretty much every single chinese live-streaming service The CN equivalents of Twitch in particular are notorious for inflating views/viewbotting within the esports community. It's like a given that the live viewercounts being reported from CN sites are inflated. In part due to fierce competition between streaming sites. But my point is if those sites can do it, the "how'' definitely isn't an issue for tencent.
  21. Probably shared before, but I was watching this week's episode and it looks like Oner is going to be on next week's 天天å‘上 :O
  22. I'm trying to watching EP4 and Tao's hair is just... no. Just no.
