I admit Im a noob in khiphop so Idk who he is, but apparently he is huge too
I guess he is pretty well known and respected in Korea. He was in Soul Company, which was the top underground company in Korea and was one of the factors that helped k hip hop bloom. Now he is part of Do'main, if i'm not far behind news. I might not be very objective, because he's not really my style (even though i liked some of his older songs), but most of his recent releases have been pretty weak. So, if it was some of the older judges, like Tablo or Paloalto, they might haven't felt much pressure to eliminate him
Just to spice things up a bit.. Is anyone interested in a little game?
Since this season is the most anticipated season by far, I'm considering opening up a little game with a starting prize pot of 2,000,000 won from me. (People are welcome to donate to increase the prize pot... It'll be further explained)

I hope this season is filled with talented, undiscovered gems like SMTM3.
I'm actually really excited to see the whole #TEAMIDOL vs #TEAMUNDERGROUND happen, but the best thing about last season was the immense amount of pressure the talented underground rappers put on everyone else.
I need another Iron-esque rapper to thoroughly stan.
somehow i think Blacknut is gonna be the star of this season, but i am ready too for some contestant to be the wild card~

Oh my, definitely. I'm so so wary about this, I don't know the real "order" that all of this was orchestrated, but Zico is there to add drama to Taewoon showtime, for sure. With Mino and Hanhae I don't expect much bad editing with Zico, but Taewoon&Zico relationship was used already in 4things to create melodrama.
I'm a bit scared about the backlast that Zico would recieve aswell, because he is always portrayed as the "bad" of any situation. In fact, people are starting to complain that Zico is there to "screw Taewoon opportunity", etc.
What do you think?
hmmm, regarding Mino, Andup and Hanhae i don't think there will be any drama. The only ones i think will throw some jabs are the disqualified contestants, but i find it really illogical and not a big deal. Like korean hip-hop scene is not big and certainly the most relevant and talked about rappers know each other and collaborate together all the time. There were many judges-contestants connections/friendships in last years too, with some of the judges praising the contestants without getting any backlash (which is what should be, because it was their honest thoughts). Plus, i think that neither Zico nor these three will give the right to people to think they got a free pass because they're friends with Zico, i'm pretty sure they'll prove themselves. Maybe we will see some friendly stills of them, assuming they pass all these, after the auditions and team selections.About Taewoon, i am expecting some drama tbh, not because he is getting help from his brother, but rather the opposite. Like him being overshadowed by Zico or Zico not recognizing him/his talent. I think Zico wants to keep the drama out, because he really likes to be professional, but it doesn't depend only from him. Especially with the notorious editing of that show, they might make up a story even from the smallest comment.In general, i am happy about Zico being a judge, because it shows that he doesn't care about what other people think (like he is too young, he is too inexperienced, why not pick up someone with more prestige) and that he is so actively pursuing his dream to be a good producer and be recognized for it. Like he could be sitting and making music just for him and Block B and have a good reputation about making good Block B songs, but seeing he wants to expand from this too and show his capabilities with collaborating with different artists makes me think he has grown up as a producer too and that he is confident to show it. I am sure that at least in that part he will do his best, so i'm really expecting this!Zico Timberlake

really excited for this season!
Here for Blacknut, Mino and Jucy(girl finally getting some job). Hope to see more from Basick tooThey're obviously trying to replicate the kind of success Bobby/BI brought to SMTM3 as a show.
Because of SMTM3, they were able to successfully branch off to Unpretty Rapstar (Which blew up even more than the source of the hype). And in Unpretty Rapstar.. they used the whole idol vs underground all over again etc...
But I think it's funny how the producers think bringing in 23849023842 idols will create the same effect as Bobby/BI being tossed into a pool of talented, fame-recognition-hungry underground rappers. Bobby was.. an anomaly. He messed up a lot in the beginning and was heavily criticized (Was called a cheesy try-hard etc.) and suddenly made a huge jump + improved in a short period of time. It was that kind of growth that attracted the contestants, viewers, and judges.
And they're also forgetting that the idol aspect wasn't everything. The underground rappers lineup was AMAZINGLY diverse + interesting. We had veteran Vasco, the rivalry between Giriboy and Cjamm, dark horse ulzzang beggar Iron, iljin princess Jidam, punchline-wordplay-reaction kween Olltii in the mix. Not to mention the hilarious judge panel.. (#justice4illionaires).
I mean, we'll see how this season goes.. it'll probably be intense and fun in it's own respective manner. But I can sense a whole lot of trouble with the great idol mixture. (Not complaining though, it'll be vastly interesting)..
Bobby wasn't an anomaly girl, he's a mediocre rapper that needed those electronic dance tracks and the flashy effects illionaire gave him to get people high. Like seriously, he's not some unrivaled case
