agreed that henry is adorable (and good at everything) but i personally don't think he is gay. while it's possible, to me he just seems like a friendly, open canadian dude legitimately not sure.

But seriously, Ellen is such an unabashed conformist. I know her shows are in the fun spirit but you can never expect anything other than lighthearted fluff from her. She's never that deep with celebs and defaults to hetero talk with everyone who isn't out. And yet she's the sort of person you know would probably get upset at being assumed to be straight by people who don't know her.

 

She's long been part of the Hollywood clique. On the other hand this is still a boyband largely aimed at straight women so I would in all honesty expect hetero answers and responses at times. That's their main audience.

 

I think we've been blessed to get the amount of open minded/gender neutral stuff we have had so far. And of course you can never rule out one day the peace in the fandom being shattered by one or more getting a real girlfriend or a beard for show or to keep rumours at bay. This is such big business.

you would expect deep questions from ellen? you know her whole thing which has done wonders for gaining LGBT acceptance in the US is always maintaining that positive, light atmosphere. it’s a very similar strategy to Hong Seok Cheon who has pretty much single-handedly pioneered whatever positive light there is on the issue in conservative-AF korea.

i'm sure it's great to have validation now but even before that existed people were trashing him based on copypasted stories with either skewed or entirely non-existent sources.

jiyong is my ult and i've been following him closely for YEARS and i do not understand where some of yall are pulling the bi label from bc I have not seen that man show any genuine attraction to women....like...ever?

i understand to some level when it's non fans or casual fans who dont know him beyond his g-dragon stage persona saying this, i get The Vibe that yall are getting, he is a performer after all, but people who call themselves 'stans', especially fellow LGBTs, claiming he's bi....im asking.....where? also while we're at it, it seems to me that a lot of people here and everywhere often cant tell the difference between closeted gay people and actual bi people who seem genuinely attracted to more than one gender.

i have also never seen much evidence of GD being interested in women, but the idea has pervaded for years because people tend to adopt previous opinions rather than disagree with them.

and before you say anything, remember that we've been asking this question IN THIS VERY THREAD (albeit on the original board this thread came from) since 2010 and earlier and the first idol to come out as gay AFTER debuting could very likely be some idol who has not debuted yet... 8+ years and not one existing idol has cleanly come out, not even key or jaejoong or heechul or even open-book drag queen jokwon. in fact, i'd almost deem it more likely will see several/many more "natural" gay idols (aka idols who were out immediately on debut) before we see any existing idol come out officially.

Frankly, I’m not here for all those people who reduce Ten to his sexuality, especially non-lgbt who continue to make jokes out of it. It’s ridiculous, really, that it’s a thing that’s even happening. I’m also not here for the fans that insist he’s straight because he hasn’t said he’s gay, however. I’m not sure if I sound hypocritical or whatever, but it just rubs me the wrong way how they’re quick to turn down the possibility of him not being straight because he hasn’t come out. Considering the predicament he’s in, if he were gay, he wouldn’t just say it.

First of all, can I say that I really love this song and video. It’s amazing and I’m so happy to see it coming from Ten.
