lol for untrained ears like mine, I love it? XD. But he is a big show off. His latest cover (removed for some reason) was Naul's "Memory of the Wind" where he manually raised the backtrack by 2 keys or more(as with many other songs he covers)...Apparently he is a fan of metal music too.

Hi guys, just want to confirm whether the C6 at 4:16 is mixed voice or head voice. I've heard that C6 mix for men is impossible but I'm not sure. I'm well aware that this guy's larynx is very high but I find the C6 kinda epic.

Hi guys, can anyone judge the vocalist of LEDapple in this cover of Bruno Mar's "It Will Rain". How would Hanbyul compare to Bruno? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmoVE2JSy9A
-
ok I meant sure you can count Aretha Franklin in, but would you even consider old guys from Korea who probably do not care about vocal techniques at all?
-
I heard the F#2 too. At least that one we can agree upon. But lol I don't want to bring in age old singers into this thread heh. As for Taewoo, the lowest I've heard him sing is a B2, but he is quite the high note whore lol. Besides interrupting Ailee, he also belted in Wheesung's face, poor Wheesung.
-
Hopefully this one at 1:44 is clearer . I didn't pick the MV cos his voice waaay back then was pretty untrained.
-
But I've got a piano beside me! To reconfirm I replay the entire melody to get back the E2! I mean I'm not being stubborn but frustrated that what I hear got considered wrong thrice. lol What do you use for reference?
-
Well I described him initially as someone whom you guys won't be interested in cos he is quite old (48 years old but still fit). But Luna's beautiful Bb5 headvoice was done covering his song so... Well his C6 at 5:40. Sounds bad technically though and girly, although he always pulls it off. E2 at 2:42 if you're interested What do you think of Taewoo's C6?? A few posts back.
-
Alright thanks. I must have been imagining the E5 (like it went from D5 - quick E5 - D5). Still D5 is pretty good.
-
Are you referring to the one at 3:29? The one at 3:37 (very exact) doesn't sound like a falsetto.
-
I did not mean Taewoo for the E2-C6, that's Lee Seung Hwan if you want the name...lol. 0.0 No E5? After the D5 (which I'm sure is there) I think there was an E5, but maybe I heard wrong lol. Wait...is a girly head voice a technical fault?
-
Lol i meant I'm not used to Korean names without their surnames. Yup I've heard girly C6s. I'm guessing you meant Jonghyun? I know another C6 from a much older Korean singer, but also girly. His range is like E2-C6 ( from a few videos I've heard) but he is too old for this thread haha. Yop, could you help to check if Taewoo belted E5 at 3:36? The arrangement was messy there so I'm not sure. I'm thinking of making a vocal range vid lol
-
Lol my 1st impression of it was Chinese, cos you didn't put the "Baek" or "Kim" that I am familiar seeing Korean names with. Pss...Tae Woo hit C6! It's awesome. I will start you at 2:29
-
Kim Tae Woo or Ailee, who did wrong at 3:30??
-
Hi guys, does anyone know who is the better vocalist between Yong Hwa and Jonghyun of CNBLUE?
-
Now that you mention it, Ahmin and Chung sound like Singaporean names, though not limited to Singapore. Ahmin is like a short form for someone whose name is ____ ____ Min. And I've seen several Mr Chungs. Hehe

I guess she just has a very beautiful voice (for me). So I was wondering if any funny technique was involved. I know saying its a kpop ballad makes it more straight forward, but her voice is more ballady than any other ballad singers seriously. Perhaps being nasal has something to do with it? I like it that her upper notes have a certain tension in it (as far as korean ballads are concerned, strain and tension at the most intense portions are still lovely to me)
-
If you are asking who I am in allkpop, I'm chuajohann. He has a chinese dialect name. definitely chinese, from the way he types his english lol. But if i were a girl, I wouldn't want to put such a boring male name as my profile name.
-
but have you heard anything like her? Is she doing something special with her voice to produce that drama ballady sound? Here is a more upbeat song. She is pretty consistent, like no cracks in her voice. It has been like that all along. Please listen to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2pZQfz4Vic
-
lol I'm a Singaporean like Kongwee. Kongwee is a male's name so...
-
Hi guys actually this is the 4th time I'm asking this question (favour!)...would like to know what you think of Zia's vocals (1st impression). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtJ2Udeik-A

Voice2 Korea was disappointing towards the end. I am pretty sure there were better performances at the beginning. Now the singers seem more stiff compared to K4 superstar. Anything they try seems unnatural.
-
Oh, the ballad she sang, didn't sound very good to me. The nasality is somehow unpleasant here.
-
That's right, right? Lol I had assumed you didn't quite like her cos you used "bitch" and "nasal as fuck" but ok that's how you roll lol.
-
She is like the epitome of charisma man. It kinda covers up for her vocal flaws, at least for me. You can't fault people for not realising it lol. The brightness of her voice helps too.
