    Hi guys. I don't usually post much here, but I decided to give a detailed opinion on EXO since they're pretty much the only boy group I care about lol. Please read if you're interested  :)

     

    Warning: LONG post ahead...

     

     

     

    Xiumin:

    Straight. I know he pings some people here as either bi or pan, but personally I don't really see it. Aside from his non-gender-specific answers to ideal type questions (which honestly, doesn't always imply a deeper meaning) and some bromance moments with Luhan, I haven't found any actual reasons to question his sexuality. I feel like he genuinely just cares more about a girl's personality rather than her appearance when it comes to dating. Most guys I know in real life are easily satisfied when it comes to visuals and find many different types of girls attractive, so I don't think there's anything suspicious about Xiumin not having a specific type. As for his relationship with Luhan, I don't doubt that they were very emotionally drawn to one another, but I never saw it developing into anything sexual or romantically intimate. They would get a little "no-homo" whenever they were doing something that may be crossing boundaries, but this never seemed to get in the way of their friendship. Basically, there was nothing particularly questionable about their relationship.

    On top of all this, I haven't seen Xiumin show any real interest in men, but I admit that also might be because I don't follow him too closely. If anybody has anything to counter this, please feel free to! I am open to becoming enlightened.

     

    Suho:

    I used to think he was completely straight, but after seeing some hidden content I'm convinced that Suho might be bisexual. The main thing that changed my mind is him talking about both genders equally. One example was what he said in a magazine interview about being a dog-type boyfriend. He described himself as being loyal with guys and gentlemanly with girls. I don't think this needs any further explanation, right? Why would a straight man talk about being loyal to men when asked about what kind of boyfriend he is. That doesn't make sense. 

    Another reason is how open-minded he is. Not only is he very comfortable with gay topics, he's also actively kept up and supportive of things that are LGBT-related. He's supported Jo Kwon in his musical "Priscilla," watched The Handmaiden with Sehun, and apparently knows Addicted, a Chinese webdrama depicting a gay relationship. I know this alone wouldn't prove anything, but I considered this important because usually it's people who are LGBT themselves who make more of an effort to stay updated with the cause and educate themselves. Just some food for thought, I guess.

     

    Lay: 

    One of the straightest EXO members. Sure he's comfortable doing skinship with other men, but when actual homosexual inclinations are implied I noticed he gets a little uncomfortable. One instance I can think of is when they were asked in an interview who the members were date if they were girls. After Chanyeol answered saying D.O, Lay cut in and said to not misunderstand and that they are "real men" who like girls. I don't completely disregard the possibility that he is a homosexual in denial, but considering he also hasn't shown the slightest bit of interest in men, I find this rather unlikely. To me he seems like the average heterosexual raised in a conservative environment who doesn't necessarily hate gays as people, but is still rather ignorant about the entire issue. 

     

    Baekhyun:

    Some degree of bisexual. At first I was skeptical because Baek naturally has a playful personality and is just an all around good entertainer, but I find his reactions to different men suspicious regardless of these facts. For one thing, whenever he notices himself getting caught up in an intimate moment with a man, his natural reaction is usually getting nervous or flustered (e.g. turning away, smiling shyly, etc) which frankly would be pretty strange for a straight person. I've also seen him act submissively in the presence of taller, more dominant men, kind of like how many girls act towards their boyfriends. For me, these moments were pretty telling that Baekhyun has at least some interest in men. If he isn't bisexual, I'd say he's at least bi-curious.

    However, I also think there's a straight side to Baekhyun. This may be an unpopular opinion within the thread, but I actually do believe he was genuinely interested in Taeyeon and I think the two probably did date. I find it convincing when Baek talks about his ideal type of woman, as his answers have never once been questionable to me. I just have no trouble seeing him being into women as well as men. Overall, I think of Baekhyun as a highly sexual, versatile person in terms of his sexuality and definitely one who is willing to explore.

     

     

    Some moments that made me suspect Baekhyun.

    Chen:

    Straight, and confident with his sexuality. From the way Chen talks about girls, I get the feeling that he knows exactly what he wants and has never really questioned it before. He seems to have no problem getting close and personal with other men, but it's obvious he is just joking around and doing some fanservice. It's easy for him to compliment another man and express admiration towards them, but there is never an ounce of attraction involved. I get this feeling from him when he was asked in the Men's Style interview "what type of men do you find easiest to admire?" and he answered with "to be honest, I too am a man, I feel that the males that are charismatic are those that are tall, broad shoulders, sturdy, and those with a good personality who always treat people with a smile on their face!" From this, I feel like he has a good sense of identity and confidence in his own role.

     

    Chanyeol:

    Predominantly straight, possibly bi-curious. Chanyeol usually doesn't ping much and comes off as an average straight man, but then he has those moments that make me think, maybe this guy doesn't mind some harmless flirtation with other dudes? Perhaps he'd even be down for a bro job? I say this because Chanyeol strikes me as being the free-spirited type, a guy who just wants to have a good time. He doesn't appear to have clear boundaries with other men, nor does he feel the need to keep reaffirming his straightness and masculinity. I've never seen him freak out from getting up and personal with his members, like he seemed to actually enjoy teasing and flirting with Baekhyun and I don't think he would even have minded taking it a step further. Also, I know a few people here see him as homophobic, but personally I'd I have to disagree. I think Chanyeol is just very socially aware. I feel like if he blurts out a no-homo comment, he's more likely doing it to save an awkward situation rather than because he actually dislikes gay people. Despite me thinking he's probably nothing more than bi-curious, I also wouldn't be surprised if he turned out completely straight or if he was actually bisexual (although I think this may be less likely).

    D.O:

    He used to confuse me when I shipped KaiSoo, but eventually I decided I was reading too much into him. I think D.O. is most likely just straight. His interactions with the members never seemed questionable to me other than a few KaiSoo ones, but even then I honestly think the two are just really close friends. From what it appears, he usually doesn't mind doing skinship with his bandmates as long as it's done in a friendly manner and they aren't violating his personal areas. I notice him getting a little shocked and speechless when members talk about dating him if he was the opposite sex, and I feel like he acts this way because thinking about it probably makes him slightly uncomfortable and he doesn't know how to react in such situations. I haven't seen much of his interactions with people outside his group as he's very private about his personal life, so my opinion isn't based on anything other than his activities with EXO. To me, D.O. seems like the type of person to respect each person and their differences as long as he's not being affected. He comes off to me as just an open-minded straight dude.

     

    Kai:

    Straight, or predominantly straight. I get that some of his interactions with D.O. and Taemin may seem very intimate and perhaps questionable, but I honestly feel like Kai is just a very emotional person who can show a lot of affection towards people he's attached to. I've seen him give the same loving gaze towards multiple people and I don't think it means anything deeper than he's just really fond of them as companions. I highly doubt his feelings towards them are oriented sexually. I just don't really see it, but I admit I could be wrong.

    Despite me thinking he's straight however, I also get the feeling that Kai may have questioned himself before. One example I can think of is during EXO 90:2014, when one of the Shinhwa members (I forgot who) asked him jokingly if he liked men and he seemed a little awkward and nervous about it. He started laughing and didn't really answer the question, which I found rather peculiar. I mean for all we know, he could actually be bisexual, but other than this specific moment he hasn't really pinged me at all. For now I'm gonna have to go with straight, but not a very confident straight.

     

    Sehun:

    Okay, if there was one member I have to say is for sure into men, my money would probably be on Sehun. I see this guy as being predominantly gay if not completely. His reactions to Rain doing pelvic thrusts and seeing naked pictures of Shinhwa made it pretty obvious to me that he's attracted to guys. And I don't care what anyone says, but I strongly believe that Sehun was making an indication about his sexuality when he said "I like men" during the ending talk of their concert. He purposely brought up male fans, talked about his heart fluttering when he sees them, and specifically said that he likes men even when he was only asked about males as fans. I feel like one has to be incredibly heteronormative to ignore this as a hint. This is not the first time Sehun has talked about men making his heart flutter, and I've also seen him react in a rather flustered manner when male fans call out to him. There's really a good amount of evidence that Sehun is into men if you look at past occurrences. As for if he likes girls, I'm not too sure, but I'm more on the doubtful side. People consider his idolization of Miranda Kerr as evidence he's into girls, but I don't think this by itself says much. My gay friend is obsessed with Hyuna and she's his ultimate bias, but at the end of the day he's still gay and only dates men. I wouldn't be totally surprised if Sehun was bi, but I'm gonna go with gay for now.

    Could you guys quote this post and tell me where you're from? I want to get a census of how many American, European, SEA, South American, etc Carats we have around here. I know that Jenny's from France, Evergreen is from the South in America (right? hope i'm not mistaking you for someone else), and Michael's from the UK.

     

    I'm biracial (half American) but I live in the Eastern Mediterranean. How about you guys?

    Finally got my special edition album and I freaking love every little pieces in it! I thought I'm going to hate the packaging since it's so basic but it's cute. Got 95-liner for all the photocards and polaroid still want meanie tho. Gonna spend my night watching the dvds and looking at all their beauty in the photobook  :ahmagah:

    And for those who might be able to attend their concert, you better go! That's like the closest you'll ever be with Seventeen and you'll cherish that opportunity for the rest of your life. Who knows when they will be back for another concert so snatch the chance  :hurr: 
    After watched all the fancams it makes me really really want to go to the fanmeet next month but I might not be able to do so lemme cry an ocean  :rlytearpls:

    Yep! On the item description on a few websites (yes24 & synnara etc) it mentions "English Subtitles Supported" so i'm guessing there is an option to switch them on if required  :)

    As far as I can remember, there was already a discussion about this. The chibi SVT was just too cute for me.

    I'm so sad to hear the news about wonwoo. As much as I want him to stand on stage again, it's better for him to take a full rest and comeback as healthy as he ever be. Let's hope in this 2 weeks of time he will have a super speedy recovery and surprise us with his appearance on the next album promotion :happy:

    yes. this was mentioned before, but there are multiple fanaccounts of wonwoo from fansigns expressing that he does not like to be shipped with mingyu. there's one where a fan wrote on a sticky note "what do you call mingyu/what is mingyu to you?" and the options were things like "honey, baby, darling" and wonwoo exed out all of those options, wrote "little brother" and also wrote "noona is weird" (referring to the fan who asked him). there are also fanaccounts of him getting visibly angry when fans were screaming the meanie ship name at a fansign. he doesn't like it. 

     

    from what i saw from all their interactions, i don't think he didn't like it. he might just not so comfortable getting a question with those choice of answers. actually it is very hard to describe their state of relationship. they are so close since debut days and i believe they still are until now. if i put my two cents on who is the gay one, it's probably mingyu. but i can also see wonwoo develops a feeling more than a bestfriend because wonwoo has that certain looks everytime he sees/talks to mingyu; like more caring look. he definitely cares for mingyu, either as a brother or more. i can't really express what's in my mind since i don't really speak english, but the point is considering how south korea is right now, maybe wonwoo just don't want to be seen so obvious; just want to keep it subtle and off the record.

     

    anyway, if i could say who are gay from seventeen, it might be seungkwan, joshua, mingyu. s.coups might plays for both teams. and wonwoo is gay only for mingyu

    Wait but that's not even DK or anyone from Seventeen. The Viner messed up lmao. It's the 160520 Music Bank performance (you can see Woozi on the left doing the All In choreo in front of Jooheon) and they were wearing the black and tan suits that day, not pink. DK had a black collar too, not white. It's someone from Up10tion but idk his name.

     

    Edit: It seems like farther back someone in Seventeen hit an Up10tion member's butt. I wonder who it is haha. I remember reading somewhere about Seungkwan being friends with Xiao and Hwanhee and getting lunch together often? Can't find the source anymore though.

    yeah it's actually gyujin from up10tion. seventeen wore beige outfits that day you can see them on the sides and the back interacting with monsta x.

     

    and it's mingyu i think, with kuhn. i even watched up10tion's performance that day to find who wears that dark pink jumper lol.

    yeah hwanhee said he's close with seungkwan in one of the interview with Soompi.
