  8. hai Sam!! from the title, it looks like a romantic song....hmmm hi all, I've posted here a few months ago but was not really active that time so I hope I become more active with b,a,p's comeback sorry for my broken english.
  9. All of them look like gained some weight(or at least yongguk, daehyun, jongup, himchan) !!! good for them This is the translation from 10Asia Magazine B.A.P, I Will Cheer For the Fastball You Have Thrown To the World – Part 1 ‘What I can do right now, is not live recklessly. Yeah, let’s not live recklessly. Let’s not, not do it just because I have a choice. This is the greatest drive I can send to my life.’ A line from a book of prose ‘Beautiful Shade’ came to mind after meeting Bang Yongguk, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jongup, Zelo, the 6 members of B.A.P. I became to endear these young boys as they correctly did what they could do in their everyday lives, in music, and work hard to not live embarrassing lives. In the year 2012, debuting with ‘Warrior’ to show overflowing charisma as a warrior, B.A.P started a war against crime and did not hesitate to become ‘bad men’, through their newest 3rd mini-album ‘Badman’. They also showed they were young boys with emotions fitting to a sweet melody through their song ‘Coffee Shop’ which is also included in that album. Having already gotten rookie awards in Korea and overseas some time last year, for the first half of this year, they even had a Pacific Tour going around 4 cities in New York, and 5 countries in Asia. At the same time they are debuting in Japan, they have already planned for an Arena Tour for the coming November. Having contrary charms of being wild and gentle men is an absolute, they are now an idol group that has debuted for over 600 days, so as I got curious about B.A.P’s extraordinary pace, I met them. The moment I see smiles that light up the whole area and hear the refreshing laughter filling each spot of the room, I again felt the positive energy as they greeted me as if we already met. They were in a situation where it was only a few days before they were to debut in Japan, so because of their schedule and practice, they could only sleep for 2-3 hours, but with shining eyes, B.A.P continued to talk. There were many moments where I was thankful that they put down their wild manly side and was able to talk to their real selves. While spending time together in the short but memorable ‘break time’ with these hardworking people, the stories they shared were serious, trivial, and playful but the most important thing was that they were heartfelt stories. Q. When I said I was going to meet B.A.P, a few people who don’t even know the ‘I’ in idol said “You mean the group that sang ‘Coffee Shop’?†(Laughter) Maybe it was because this song did well online, on the computer, etc. when it was first revealed. I think the group B.A.P became better known because of ‘Coffee Shop’.
Bang Yongguk: (Resiliently) A lot of people listened to it at a coffee shop.
 All: (Laughter)
Youngjae: It’s a song we also like and many of our fans who are over 20 like it too. There were a lot of instances where older women came to know about B.A.P because of ‘Coffee Shop’.
Bang Yongguk: Because we have a lot of fans in their teens, when making the ‘Badman’ album, we thought we should do songs fit for a variety of ages so we’re really thankful that they liked it. Q. It’s a certain thing for people of all ages from Korea to like you but I also heard your popularity overseas is no joke. At the same time your debut single ‘Warrior’ will go on sale, you plan on going on an Arena Tour starting November. Generally one would start with the Zepp Tour, Budokan and then Arena for their concert scales, but how were you able to go straight to an Arena Tour?
Daehyun: (The reason why we were able to go straight into the Arena Tour is because) the fans in Japan really like that we have our own special color and concept. I think it was possible because they saw we had something different from other groups. Q. I looked through the performances of the third mini-album ‘Badman’, which you ended activities for not too long ago. Compared to when you first debuted, each member really came to view
Daehyun: (Compared to when we first debuted) we are looking for our own specialties and showing it.
Himchan: Now it’s a good thing we are each being seen. (Laughter) Q. Because Bang Yongguk was also a producer for the album ‘Badman’ I think it was impossible not to get sensitive; especially when you were working. Writing the lyrics or composing the song only needs you mold yourself into creating but it must have been really different to be controlling the whole album.
Bang Yongguk: I think it was really like that for this album especially. There were pros and cons, but the best part is how since it’s the first time I’ve done everything, when I’m making each part of the next album, I think a better album will come out. I achieved my intended purpose. (Laughter) Q. What kind of a person are you when you write lyrics? It’s tough to write the lyrics for all the songs in B.A.P’s albums. Are you the type to check up on issues once in a while and take notes, or think to yourself ‘I should work now’ and write everything in one sitting.
Bang Yongguk: I work whenever I want to. Usually I talk to the songwriters and when we decide upon a topic, we work on that. Also when you want to write lyrics, there are a lot of things you have to know so I work hard to learn about a lot. I try to look at a lot of pictures, a lot of news, and read a lot of books. It means a lot to me to have that time to learn a more in order to make something ‘creative’. Q. You don’t read but try to read? (Laughter)
Bang Yongguk: That’s because I can’t read too often. But I do try. (Laughter) I usually do all my work at night. That’s because I sleep late.
Himchan: I’ve seen him work, and Yongguk works really fast. I think working when you want to is the best. Q. That’s true. It’s not like someone tells you “Start working†and the results just come out.
Bang Yongguk: Previously when I was working on (Song) Jieun’s solo song ‘Are You Crazy’, the concept was a stalker. I really didn’t want to do it. (Laughter) It was because I was worried with the thought, ‘Later I’m going to come out in a group called B.A.P.’ That’s why it took a really long time to work on that. I even told Himchan who was a trainee with me at that time, “You write it.†Himchan likes things like that.
 All: (Burst of laughter)
Himchan: But then again it became an oldie.
Bang Yongguk: don’t think something good comes out of doing it quickly, but the results amount to how hard you work on it. Q. From your debut, there has been a lot of change in the genre or theme of music that B.A.P has brought out. However the title songs are always clear and powerful. Is it because you think songs have to have some kind of a ‘role’?
Bang Yongguk: We’re not trying to show that we’re different. However we hope B.A.Ps music will not just be trivial music that is passed by or follows time and the trending music. I make songs thinking of how the songs the six of us are performing tell a story to not only young people but are songs a lot of people listen to. That’s why I want to make music that I think was made very well even after time has passed. I do also work hard to make music for money and what the fans like but the very first thing I think of is to keep making music with meaning and significance, and I think this will become a platform allowing the six of us to make better music. I think it’s because of this, that I work hard to make a lot of music with a message. Q. That must be why I still listen to the debut album without getting sick of it.
Bang Yongguk: Thank you for listening so often. (Laughter) Q. Bang Yongguk and Zelo play a big role in creating B.A.P’s own musical color, but the main vocals, Daehyun and Youngjae play a big role too. Are there any worries or thoughts you have as vocals?
Daehyun: If you listen to all of B.A.P’s music you may know but in my case my vocals have around the same feeling…(Laughter) I’m researching various things and practicing to show a different sides of myself. I’m listening to a lot of jazz, rock, hard rock, R&B and other various genres of music.
Youngjae: I’m working hard to become a vocal fitting to the kind of music our team makes. In addition, I want to show my own color as a vocal so I am also listening to a variety of genres of songs. Q. I think Daehyun’s vocals have a lot of rock elements in it. Youngjae also has a soft yet coarse feel to his vocals; you guys are similar yet different
Daehyun: I think it’s like that because we sing. When I first started singing I wasn’t this kind of a vocalist. My voice wasn’t loud, my vocalization wasn’t good and I don’t know if it has anything to do with this but I wasn’t strong either but after doing B.A.P songs, I became like that. Now, because I can do this, I thought I should look for something new. As for Youngjae, he likes black music and the R&B genre while I listen to a lot of popular music. I think that’s why the way we sing and our musical colors are so different.
Youngjae: I think we try not to be alike. In B.A.P, there are things Daehyun does well and there are things I do well, so if we were too alike, there would be no point in having two main vocals. Daehyun practices what he’s good at and I practice what I’m good at. Q. Jongup, who is in charge of dancing also improved a lot in singing.
Jongup: I’m practicing a lot. (Laughter) Q. Last March, at the KBS ‘Open Concert’ when you were performing ‘Don’t Leave Me’ I clearly heard Jongup’s voice. It was such a melodious voice, I was surprised. (Laughter)
Daehyun: When the fans saw that video, they kept saying “Why doesn’t Jongup get a singing part?†and they’ve been ‘push push-ing’ ever since. (Laughter) Rather than having a color for Korean music, his voice is more suited for pop or R&B.
Youngjae: It’s the kind of voice color I want. Q. But is Jongup very shy about talking? Is it because you are used to expressing with your body rather than with words?
Jongup: In performances or someplace where what must be done has been planned out; if it’s a place where I know exactly how to express myself, I do well, but if not I get awkward. Q. Recently ‘B.A.P 1st ADVENTURE: 10,000 Miles in America’ DVD was released and I saw Jongup and Zelo having a dance battle with locals in America while shooting the MV for ‘Coffee Shop’.
Bang Yongguk: (Eyes widen in surprise)You saw it?
 All: (Clapping) OHHH!
Youngjae: You saw all of it? (Laughing)
Bang Yongguk: I was watching a little at a time and I finished up yesterday. It was well made. It was fun because of the younger members. I also didn’t know Zelo could talk so much. He was a bit like a superstar. (Laughter) But the dance battle that came out on the DVD was the part where they didn’t do so well. There were parts where they did well on the spot but it was on the video. They usually do better than that. Q. The whole dance battle wasn’t shown? I wanted to see more. (Laughter)
Youngjae: Yeah. Because Jongup and Zelo are the best dancers in B.A.P, I always hope they dance better when they dance somewhere else. There are a lot of times where people tells us that B.A.P must dance well after seeing these two dance so I have that kind of hope for them, but this time, the youngest members didn’t do so well. When I asked why, they said their clothes were uncomfortable.
Jongup: The clothes were new and the shoes were expensive. (Laughter) I’ve always wanted to have fun and dance with famous black guys or dancers in America. That was kind of my dream. I wanted to have fun with them but the shoes were expensive… (Laughter) I was spinning to do the Thomas but I was also trying hard not to get the shoes dirty. Ah, it was kind of pathetic.
 All: (Burst of laughter)
Daehyun: They were expensive shoes. (Laughter) While watching from the back, because I got excited, I was cheering for them to beat the black guys. But it seemed like Jongup wasn’t doing as well as usual so I told him to come over and we switched shoes. They started doing better that time but that part didn’t really go into the DVD. Q. There was a great deal of Daehyun in the DVD. A memorable part was when you were in a MV shoot and you were looking at a beautiful house saying you wanted to live in this kind of house with your wife and kid like it was a dream of yours. At a luxurious hotel in Las Vegas, you even said you wanted to come here at least once with your family. You talk a lot about your family or having one of your own.
Daehyun: Most of the times I had the camera with me and because I’m really friendly with the camera guy, I followed him around a lot. I think that’s why my cuts came out a lot. (Laughter) Also, when I was younger, my family always gathered. When it’s a holiday or my grandmother’s birthday, the whole family gathered so I like going around with my family. When I was younger we gathered because the adults wanted to, but nowadays, because it’s difficult to get to see me, they try to gather because of me. So because I am thankful, I try to go more. I even met them this Chuseok [Korean Thanksgiving Day]
Youngjae: Whenever we have a concert or performances, Daehyun invites his family of around 30 people. (Laughter) Q. Did everyone have a break this Chuseok?
Youngjae: For 1 day and 2 nights each member went back home to spend time with their family. We ate rice, jeon [Korean pancakes] and talked
Himchan: When I went back this Chuseok, my mom said we had to watch the DVD so we did. Starting the next day to now, we have been going through our schedule. (Laughter) Q. Then you must have watched the Chuseok special program MBC ‘Idol Star Track, Archery, Soccer Athletic Meet’ together. That day, it was great that B.A.P had an active role, but what wasn’t broadcasted was more impressive. The members were carrying plastic bags cleaning up the garbage.
Daehyun: Mhm, we always do that but there are some people who think we do it for some kind of a purpose so we’re careful about talking about that. But we have to clean up what we ate. The other iffy thing about this is, if we only clean up our garbage, we’ll be asked why we’re only cleaning up our garbage. Q. It’s because you guys are good-hearted. But then again, it’s a natural thing to do so why should you have to be careful about what you say?
Zelo: We do it because if we don’t clean it up we feel guilty.
Youngjae: There are those who talk about it in a bad way, but then there are those who on the flip side take it as a good thing. The fans also clean up what they litter after seeing what we do. We also look at that and learn things.
Himchan: We exchange beneficial influences with our fans. (Laughter) Q. Now that I think about it, this May on Children’s Day, I remember something Bang Yongguk asked the fans. It was about how you asked if you could donate the dolls the fans gave as a present to an infant home.
Bang Yongguk: The fans gave me a lot of Tiggers (It’s been known that it is a doll Bang Yongguk liked from his childhood) as gifts. Since the fans gave then to me, I’d like to keep them all but since my bed looked like gunfire took place, and I can’t put them on the other members beds because I feel bad, I used to put my Tigger friends at the company, but…there were so many it began interfering with the work of the workers there. Also it would be better if the dolls met a nice owner and was loved so when it as almost Children’s day, I decided to send the dolls to the children at the infant home we help around at. It’s something the fans sent so I put up a post asking them. Q. In that post you expressed, ‘These dolls that are cotton and string, can become something to lean on for someone in a part of their heart…’ It was just plain words without any flowery language, but a surge of emotions took me over.
Bang Yongguk: (Shyly laughing) Did you write that down too? I never learned how to write professionally so…There are times where I say things awkwardly. The grammar wasn’t even Korean grammar so it’s even weirder. That’s because I learned English during that time too. (Laughter) I write like I look up things on Google translate wondering what I should write. There are parts where people who are smarter would see don’t quite make sense. Q. Not minding the grammar, there are definitely parts that move a person’s heart. Where does that power come from?
Bang Yongguk: Are you sure? (Laughter) I always reflect on how there are things that people think are really childish. For example, saying “I love you†may sound childish, or some kind of action may seem childish. There are a range of things one may see as childish, but there are also definitely things that we feel are beautiful. Asking the fans if I could send the dolls I was given to an infant center, this may seem like something childish to one person. But I think something childish like that is seen as the most beautiful when it is said seriously, so I just said it seriously to the fans. I think that’s why it was felt that way.
