its so sad to see them go down this road. i used to watch them all the time in high school and during my early years in university. i agree with the general consensus under the comments sections of their posts - at this point, they need to just create separate channels/profiles for all of their social media accounts. let the original eyk accounts be a memoir of the good memories and times they had. its time to turn the page and start a new chapter, for both of them...

[KN] Netizens are divided over NCT 127 ‘Sticker’ MV
jeong jaehyuns boyfriend replied to Youahaen's topic in Netizen Nation
I didn’t like Sticker either, but some of y’all are crazy in this thread for disliking Punch and Kick It. Both of those songs are amazing -

Yeah, but those trainees were never officially revealed as part of SM Rookies. I meant in my original comment that NN was the best vocalist of the girls that were revealed. Yeah I agree, that's what I was saying - she had the ability to produce nice C#5s at times (like I said, in some of her Baby Baby performances for example) but even though she had the capability, she didn't have consistency until a few years after debut, which is what I meant. I don't think that consistency was there until at least 2011, and for me, she only solidified C#5 in 2013 and D5 in 2015. -

iirc, Taeyeon was consistent up to B4/C5 until at least 1-2 years after debut. She did have a handful of nice C#5 moments like during their Baby Baby performances, but in terms of long-term consistency on C#5, I don't think it really came until ~2011-2012 when they started their Japanese promos. During that time, and during their Japanese concert tours especially, Taeyeon was really out there with good resonance with C#5s (and C5s) in almost every song that had them (RDR, Reflection, Mr. Taxi, Not Alone, Way to Go, etcetc). She also produced some nice D5s during this time too, but in terms of consistency, it took a while for her. I would say it wasn't until her solo debut in 2015 with her "I" mini EP that she really started to achieve near complete consistency with D5. Then starting around 2017, her improvement on Eb5 became more noticeable! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I remember lol -

I think we need to give the girls more time. The general consensus from what I've seen is that Ningning has up to B4/C5, which is similar to what Taeyeon and Wendy were comfortably supporting at debut. Taeyeon eventually creeped her way up to C#5, then D5, and now can produce some nice and balanced Eb5s every once in a while. But it took several years for her to get there. I'm pretty sure that if NN had the opportunity and access to the same vocal training, she could find herself down that path too. The problem is, aespa's musical directions seems to be really different from SNSD and Red Velvet's - it's really heavily produced, dance/techno-pop that doesn't call for the same style of singing as SNSD or even some of RV's music.. Hopefully, their upcoming mini album will have songs that are more like what she used to sing predebut (including her debut teaser, "Run"). Winter has up to Bb4/B4 so they're not too far apart in skill level, but personally, Winter's belts in Next Level were a too chesty and throaty for me. It fits the style of Next Level, but I've always preferred a slightly lighter mix over a chestier one when it comes to belts (just my personal preference!). I also think NN's mix is more developed than Winter's even though it's really head-dominant. I've posted it before, but home girl was belting out E5s, F5s, F#5s, G5s, and even G#5s all over the place when she was in SM Rookies. This is my fav predebut cover of hers! @0:45 - C5 @1:17 - C5-Bb4-C5 @1:24 - C5-Bb4~(key change)~B4-E5-D#5-C#5-B4-C#5-B4 @1:38 - C#5-B4-D#5-B4-(followed by a run... I'm not transcribing this run lol) @1:46 - C#5-C#5-C#5-C#5-B4-C#5 @1:51 - C#5-(run) @1:55 - B4-B4-E5-F#5-G#5-E5-C#5-B4(sustained)-(run) Another favourite of mine.... She basically was the only vocalist in SM Rookies (virtually all of the SM Rookies project covers after NN joined SM were sung nearly almost entirely by her) so she covered all of Taeyeon and Jessica's ad libs lol @1:30 - D5 @1:39 - run-B4 @1:42 - B4-A4-C#5 @1:46 - E5 @1:50 - C#5 @1:54 - E4-(head voice)E5-C#5-F#5-E5 @2:00 - F#5-E5-B4-A4 @2:04 - E5 I LOVE all the girls in aespa btw, but if Winter were to try to sing these notes and these lines, I feel like she would either just sing them in really airy falsetto (a la her IU cover on Knowing Bros) or try to pull chest voice all the way up there like in Next Level and strain a lot more than NN would with her bright mix. That being said, all of what I'm talking about was recorded in studio. And I don't think aespa has truly sang 100% live since they debuted, but even when they're lipsyncing to a pre-recorded "live" track, NN's D5~A4~B4 bridge in Black Mamba and her C5 in Forever were really pitchy (at times, very flat or sharp) and honestly, pretty disappointing given what she showcased predebut. So I'm hoping she can bring that side of her back... edit: oops OH glitched for me and it posted 3 times LOL so I deleted the repeats... -
honestly at this point, ive accepted the fact that wayv's future in china is basically donezo. and as a wayv stan from day 1 AND a nct fan from the very beginning, it rips me apart to have to watch them go down like this, but it would be career suicide to go back there given all the new extreme restrictions and government scrutiny. whether or not you find his actions reprehensible and by how much is up to you own moral compass, but apart from discussions of whether or not what he did is acceptable - what actually hurts the most is that if the allegations are true, they were 100% preventable had lucas just kept his dick in his pants... like. everything is literally just self-inflicted (again, assuming the allegations are true). im just so freaking disappointed. he's not just a background member of nct/wayv, he is literally the center, face of the group, and visual of wayv and is literally their pillar. he had a fixed cast position on a hugely popular variety show. he's also a key member of nct, AND superm, which was curated by lee soo man himself. and it sucks that all the other wayv members are paying the price for this too - both the group's career, as wayv, and their solo careers. winwin in particular was rising in popularity, if even by a little, and now all that momentum is lost. wayv was also just on the cusp of their comeback, and thats not even considering nct2021, and of course, jalapeno with hendery, who practiced for nothing...

SM artists sing 0% of their songs live
jeong jaehyuns boyfriend replied to Gerimolda's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
meanwhile snsd, they sang live from the very beginning using the old music show sound system. -
I just don't think that the "debunking" is any more hypothetical than the Korean OP's allegations since the apology was non-specific and seemed like more of a marketing ploy to save his image rather than an actual admittance of guilt. I think SM probably advised Lucas to take the low road when dealing with this given what happened with other scandals this year like with Soojin and April. The latter parties outright denied the allegations and took such a firm stance against "rumours" that it actually turned the public even more against them rather than restore confidence as their companies probably had hoped. Even though Lucas's apology was really basic and lacked any sincerity, which is definitely a blow to his character, on the other hand, it also doesn't specifically confirm any of the allegations. I think there's absolutely some truth to what he was accused of doing, but did he do absolutely everything that they said he did? I have plenty of friends irl that have gone through rocky relationships and breakups much worse than this, and it's sometimes impossible to mediate because of all the he said, she said. I do believe Lucas is a fuckboy and definitely wrote a cheque that his ass couldn't cash, but there's just so little information on both sides. Like, she claims he cheated on her, but were they in an exclusive relationship to begin with? Was that clearly communicated, or did she believe that herself? (I've definitely been there before.) Did she have to pay for the hotel rooms every single time they met up, or did they take turns paying? We just don't know. I would be more inclined to believe more serious accusations (Kris's victims for example, I absolutely believed right away and never doubted for a second) but as far as we know, Lucas and his exes were in a consenting adult relationship. How Lucas handled those relationships is one thing, but if he assaulted or forced himself on anyone, imo it would already have been revealed given how detailed and specific these allegations are, and how easy it would be to claim that given Kris's very recent exposé.

thank you for this summary! so if i understand correctly - did he actually tell these girls that they were his girlfriend and that he was seeing them exclusively? or were they just fwb? from what i've read so far, lucas tried appealing to them by making it seem like he wasn't seeing other people, but it's unclear what the exact terms of these relationships were. if it was established that they werent exclusive and that they were just seeing each other casually and with no strings attached, then its not considered cheating imo. idk. on one hand, im disappointed he didnt take better responsibility for his actions, but on the other hand, this is pretty common behaviour for a guy in his early 20s. im not trying to normalize this kind of behaviour or anything, but i feel like most of the people that are shocked over these controversies are young teens with little to no dating experience. i literally just came out of a year long relationship with a guy thats also in an open relationship with his boyfriend, and the lines between whether i was an fwb, someone he was seeing "casually" for sex, or a second partner were very blurred. in the end, i chose to walk away from the relationship because it was hurting me more than bringing me joy, and i knew that we couldnt ever be exclusive because he already had a partner. on top of that, he was also dating other guys too because hes just completely open. he told me this on our first date, but over time i convinced myself that i could be with him when in reality i knew i couldnt. there were also times where he was sus and asked to have sex without a condomn, but i said no. these are the types of things i had to navigate ever since i started dating lmao. i guess what im trying to say is - all the things that have been revealed so far are regarding his personal relationships. im not justifying his actions, but from what we know so far, lucas didnt break the law or commit any crimes. is he messy in his approach to relationships? yes. but it would be wrong to conflate his behaviour with much more aggregious things done by others like kris wu. at the end of the day, its a personal choice that every fan has to make for themselves whether or not they want to keep supporting him. i went through a journey with this and evolved on it. at first i was shocked and disappointed, and then i was even angry at lucas for doing this in the first place. but then i thought about it more, and even though im still disappointed, i dont think any of this is career ending or damning.... idk. just my 2 cents

This sucks. I really hope they eventually release the MV and song, at least for Hendery. And even Hendery aside, there are probably so many people that worked on this project, including songwriters, producers, choreographers, dancers, camera crew, the MV director…… Jalapeño still deserves to be released for all of their sakes IMO. It doesn’t need to be promoted on music shows, but at least let everyone else’s work be acknowledged.

Thanks for correcting me! I didn't know there was 3 now... things seem to be moving so fast, everything's getting more chaotic by the minute T_T I really hope SM releases a statement soon. Since the Jalapeno vlive was cancelled, SM is probably literally meeting with Lucas right now to get to the bottom of it lol

This is my thought too. I'm not trying to justify or dismiss Lucas's allegations, because I wouldn't be surprised if they were true and I'm disappointed he didn't take care of his behaviour better. But as an NCT fan from the beginning, I have to say, this is nowhere as near as bad as all of Taeyong's school violence allegations (bullying, scamming, body shaming, sexism, homophobia), Yuta allegedly being close friends with a notorious misogynist, or Jaehyun's Itaewon scandal where he allegedly broke public health guidance during a COVID surge (while he was an MC for Inkigayo no less). And then on the side, in the international fandom, you have Hendery being accused of cultural appropriation, Jaehyun mouthing the n-word, and Mark being criticized for using a blaccent for as long as I can remember. Again, cheating is bad, period. And I always knew Lucas was a Grade A fuckboy, but I'm disappointed that he actually created this whole mess given how important he is in WayV/NCT/SuperM. Because it's not only his own image he needs to take care of, but also the image of his members and his groups as a whole. But tbh, if everyone could get over Taeyong's allegations (which still haven't all been clarified, despite stan twt denying them for years), then I'm pretty sure Lucas will be fine. If anything, it might even bring more attention to Jalapeno lol.

I don't know if you're a WayV fan but Lucas and Winwin have probably one of the closest friendships out of all 23 members. Throughout all the dorms that WayV has had, the members changed roommates several times but Lucas and Winwin were the only pair that chose to continue sharing a room. They also hang out a lot together and were the only 2 members from WayV that went to China earlier this year, and attended events together. If Lucas really was talking about Winwin, then that would be incredible. But I highly doubt that lol... we don't even have enough information to know whether or not the allegations are true just yet, so let's not spread rumours.
-
I mean, I was worried that the allegations were going to get worse, but it seems like he's simply a cheater. Which is still bad on a personal level, but it's not as severe as school violence, bullying, illegal drugs, prostitution, or worst of all, r*pe. If true, then yeah, he's a shitty person, but he didn't break the law and it's not really anyone's business other than the girls that were allegedly in a relationship with him. That being said, if true, I'm disappointed that Lucas would behave like this given how important he is to WayV, NCT as a whole, AAAAAND SuperM, which is basically Lee Soo Man's lovechild. If he was simply caught with a girlfriend, then netizens and fans would have been more forgiving. But the fact that it was 2 women changes the narrative completely.

red velvet has had a rough 2 years, between wendy's tragic injury, irene's huge personality scandal, and COVID as a whole messing everything up and forcing them to postpone concerts, activities, etc. i agree that SM is being a bit less strict with what the media says about RV now because they know theyre reaching the end of their golden years as a group. i think SM would have given them one more concert tour after queendom, but because of COVID, unfortunately im not sure if that can happen in the forseeable future... if i had to guess, i would say seulgi and wendy would continue as active soloists and pursue music. joy will go the acting route, and maybe release some songs here and there. irene would have gone into acting too, but with the way things are, im not sure. i think shes gonna lay low and then reappear with something later down the road. as for yeri, she's still young, so idk what shes gonna do... this would all be after queendom of course... and maybe one or two more comebacks after that.. judging by SM's track record with girl groups, after ~5-7ish years is when they start to funnel more of their money and attention into their newer girl group, and im 100% sure SM has huge plans for aespa.

I don’t really understand this. I feel like a better career move would just be to sign a bunch of endorsement deals and CFs which I’m sure are lined up for him. He would be able to make a lot of money and gain fame without being under direct scrutiny of the general public. Alas, we’ll see what happens…

unpopular opinion, but I think people are way too harsh on the aespa girls. Like yes, they've all had cosmetic procedures done, but it's not as drastic as people like to make it seem. This is some BTS footage of Karina shooting Ep1 "Black Mamba" for SM's culture universe. I watched it a few months ago when it came out before Next Level, but I recently watched it again and the clip of her by the pool is pretty striking. She's literally dunking her face into chlorinated water so I doubt she's hiding behind any makeup here.- 26,504 replies
