because AKB itself is dated. why do you think they stick with dated music? it's because when they try new song concepts there will always people who compare it to other musical acts (oooooo this sounds like K-pop, ooooo this is keyaki/nogi -ish, oooo THIS IS A CARBON COPY OF A B C, THIS IS SOOO NOT AKB-ISH, etc). so we have no choice but to stick with early 2000-2010ish type of music.
