They were kind of just there EP503 Jessi is mad chaos. She is frustrating to watch yet absolutely hilarious at the same time. Completely outshined the other guests. The fact that she teamed up with Jaesuk and Kwangsoo as well basically guaranteed her to be the standout guest. The Jessi/Jaesuk combination just speaks for itself. Kwangsoo is also excellent at egging people on. Quote of the week: "This is not comfortable"

Rumours about problematic members: I'm always on the fence about this stuff. I don't condone bullying but this stuff is always hard to prove and there is always a chance that someone is just starting shit to get back at someone they don't like for some petty reason. I don't want to judge people I don't personally know but it's kind of always on the back of my mind whenever they appear. When I found out Gaheun was one of them, I started thinking differently of her even though she was and still is my favourite housemate on the show. Now this episode Kangyeol was hilarious. He has personality and is exactly what they were missing in the house. Also Anna seems so calm and cool. I can't believe the problematic 3 might just be the most interesting people on this show. Euidong & Anna: Finally someone that vibes along with him as more than just a friend appears. I hope he doesn't get hurt. He seriously seems like such a genuinely sweet guy and Anna probably has the worst rumored personality. I feel hesitant to root for them because of this. Movie dates: IW/GH, HG/MJ, JH/KY, ED/AN would be just too perfect wouldn't it? All the couples pretty much at least got something going on between them. No filler couple like Daeun/Dogyun lol. I think it's pretty much a given that Jihyun and Kangyeol will have a date together so that everyone gets the chance to go on a date. Unless Inwoo is selfish. But from the preview they all seem to go on a date so.

I liked the MV aesthetics. Was interesting and different. There were moments that screamed low budget but other moments that didn't. I like the song except that chant at the beginning.

Was not expecting a surprise comeback. Already sounds like a bop. That better be an instrumental for a song on the EP.

I felt like all the teams stepped up this round. Everyone is trying to take a page out of The Boyz's book but they're always one step ahead. What happened to reaction king Wyatt this week? His Mino-esque reactions are the highlight of this show. Pentagon: I already commented on them last week but after watching all the other groups, they really were the only team to put on a fun performance rather than trying to go complex conceptual. ONF: Great concept. First time hearing this song and I love it. Hyojin is quite the singer. Definitely the dark horse of this season. Golden Child: I feel like you can do no wrong with orchestra remixes. Another first time song for me and I like it. I'm going to be honest, I'm not on the Golcha hype train that this thread is on and I didn't enjoy their first 2 performances but I'm surprised that they would be the first to go. ONEUS: Another concept that really vibes with me and I originally liked the song. Except I feel like something was missing with the performance. Can't pinpoint it exactly but the execution could have been better? VeriVery: I think I would've enjoyed this more if I liked the song because there were some good moments. TOO: Practically listening to this for the first time. I don't even remember their intro performance. For sure they still give off rookie vibes but I do think they have a knack at executing concepts. The Boyz: Concept kings. That painting got me shook. The Boyz > ONF > Pentagon > Golden Child > TOO > ONEUS > Verivery If it were down to me, Verivery would've been the first eliminated. I thought they did the worst for both rounds. I know Kangmin is cute and all but I got over him after ep 1.

Very Good was underwhelming. Pentagon definitely have been overranked. Is it because of the perception people have of them that they're doing so well despite the lacklustre performance? I felt the same way about Mamamoo on Queendom. Danger was as I expected. Right from the song choice I already had high expectations of them. I went into this show not knowing a single thing about The Boyz except that Ju Haknyeon is in the group but this show is doing wonders for them. As of now, I'm actually rooting for them to win or at the least give them a boost AOA/OMG-style. Shine & Spring Snow was cute. I liked how they decided to put aside the competition aspect and put together a fun farewell performance for Jinho. Man Jinho's vocals were on another level though even whilst crying. This performance also brought back out the Hongseok fan inside me. How does he look so beautiful even whilst crying?

Damn this makes me miss late 2000s kpop. When was the last time I heard such raw vocals? The only time you will probably hear groups sing without all the effects on music shows these days is during the encores. But a lot of groups, especially the newer ones, look so hesitant to sing because their raw singing is basically amplified and they're probably scared to fuck up.

DTNA: Akari was freaking glowing in this performance. Is it because she resembles Jihyo and DTNA is practically her song? Mayuka gives me Mina vibes. I liked this performance more than VVV and I think they all did well. Riria's energy was a bit low compared to the other girls though. Personally I think it was Akari > Nina = Mayuka > Riria. VVV: Miihi is often the standout but I thought Rima overshadowed her this time and practically carried the performance. Ayaka's singing was bearable until Sohye's bridge part. My god was that bad. I wonder if JYP was trying to make another Nayeon-Jeongyeon-Tzuyu when he formed this team. Rima > Miihi > Ayaka

No judgement though, I was one of the two votes. Anna: Back to back catfish. I like it. Seems like the producers took some notes from the previous seasons. S1 chef whose name I can't even remember and Jangmi were added in too late that they barely even had a chance. Kangyeol: I judged too quick once again. He is proving somewhat to be an interesting catfish. Very natural chemistry with Jihyun during the date. Texts: Those were some interesting choices. I like it. I am here for this mess to unfold. No more Jihyun signal when Gaheun was practically carrying this show. Hangyul and Euidong realising they should back off from Jihyun because she is not reciprocating will be interesting. The two of them are opening up to the possibility of Minjae. Will she be a late bloomer finally getting her time to shine and more screentime? Or will Anna stir things up again? About the rumor: I saw the pic last week. Don't think they were holding hands but it was a picture of their backsides. Resembled the supposed people a lot though.

Woah I was not expecting Donghan to redebut in a group

Ep 501 Was expecting this to be a snooze fest because it was a whole episode centred around quizzes but it was not bad. Has some funny moments. Pygmalion effect finally made it's way back on. I remember this being a legendary Running Man moment back in the day. Jihyo has been underperforming for so long that any sort of participation from her usually gets her praises.... and then the cycle start again. I hope this isn't one of those moments because she shined in this episode. I liked the Kwangsoo & Jihyo moments in the final game. Kwangsoo exposing his identity definitely helped her bring out her A game.

Mako > Miihi > Riku > Maya > Rima > Mayuka > Ayaka > Yuna > Rio > Nina > Riria > Akari > Momoka Mayuka: Truly living up to her underdog status. I can't believe I never noticed her before. I actually enjoyed her performance the most. Momoka: There was no spark in her performance. I found her pretty awkward. Riria: Another underwhelming performance. The dancing was awkward. Rima: Her strength is definitely her confidence. A lot of the other girls don't have it but it seems to come so naturally to her. I find her dancing a bit awkward and the english raps always make me cringe. Mako: She is #1 for a reason. She even picked the perfect song to match her short hair. I think my favourites for now are Mayuka, Rio, Ayaka, Miihi and Mako.

I was looking forward to The Boyz's performance this week because their song choice is but guess I got to wait another week. So far my preference for this round is onf > oneus > too > goldenchild > verivery Verivery dropped the ball with this one. The song arrangement wasn't good. I was rooting for them because they impressed me last week.

Good to hear that she's back and with a bigger agency now. Hope that they will help her get some good projects. Somin has voiced concerns about her career before and I do think that her previous agency didn't fully capitalise on her fame when she blew up on Running Man.

Was not expecting Inwoo, Kangyeol, and toothbrush to be the best romance of the episode. Catfish was definitely weak. Let's see if he actually shakes them up next week. I think part of the reason is because a lot of them have already developed their interest and formed bonds early on. It's no surprise that the main love triangles across all season are centered around the housemates that joined early on. I say this all the time but Hyunwoo truly played the catfish role well. They dropped him in on the second day and he managed to get all the girls shook. On one end I too am not fond of the Jihyun show. Her personality is just not good tv material. But on the other end I understand the producers centering the show on her. She is the most popular housemate amongst the housemates themselves that is. She is one of the parties involved in the shows main love triangle. I like Minjae but if she isn't developing anything with the guys then they're just not going to show it which sucks I know. Or are they trying to hide all the Minjae/Hangyul moments from us? What happened to the coffee date??

I thought it would take time to warm up to this show since there are just too many "nugus" I don't know about. At best I could probably only recognise Pentagon and all the Produce alumni. But I quite enjoyed the 1st episode. Jangjun seems like a funny guy. There were also heaps of reaction shots of Sunwoo, Kangmin(?), and that one guy from ONF (sorry I have yet to learn his name). Off topic but Sunwoo reminds me of Park Jihoon so much and Kangmin of Verivery looks like Kim Wooseok. For the most part I agree with the ranks. I did find the groups that stuck purely to dancing better than the ones that sang. The Boyz deserved that 1st place. 2nd place should've been Verivery. The rest were alright.

Miihi > Riku > Maya > Ayaka > Yuna > Rio > Nina > Akari Ayaka: This is the first time she impressed me. Before it just seemed like they picked her purely because of her semblance to Suzy and her skills were very lacking. But her expressions were on point and she picked a song which was within her capabilities. I think she even lowered the pitch to match her range or am I just hearing things? I think she is shaping up to be one of my favourites Nina: Can't pinpoint exactly what it is but I wasn't feeling this one. Riku: Was never a standout contestant to me but she has a nice balance across her skills, kind of like Chaeyoung to me. She's not a critical member for the group but also not a detriment. Yuna: As the longest JYP trainee on the show, her skills don't seem to be as rounded as the other trainees if you were to compare them relative to their training periods. Her performance had a strong start but her vocal skills couldn't keep up and she started to falter but I think she managed to pick it back up with the rap. The coming episodes will be important to determine if she gets Minyoung-ed or not Maya: Good performance. I feel the same way for her as I feel for Riku.

Lol couldn't agree more on that Inwoo and Minjae statement. Minjae said that she wasn't comfortable with him at the beginning but their interaction was probably the most friendly interaction on the show thus far. The atmosphere is a little tense whenever the 6 of them gather and it feels like they are walking on egg shells at times. Was nice to see them loosen up at the end. I guess putting in a common stranger helps them to bond easier. This season may have started out dull but I think we are definitely in for some good stuff. Episode 5 was just the start of it. I don't think anything is set with just 5 days in as you guys put it. But then again in season 2, the housemates had all pretty much established their interest early on. The only one who changed was Hyunwoo because of the one on one date. I don't remember much about season 1 so can't comment on that.

Episode 5 serving us the Heart Signal goodness we were all after. By far the best episode so far. Studio cast was good this week. I misjudged just like how i misjudged Minjae in episode 1. Maybe the atmosphere was down before as they too were bored with the show lol. Gaheun: She makes the show interesting. She was the one that stirred up the dynamics and all because of luck. Girl didn't even get to choose her date and ended up with the guy she was interested in. Honestly I think she could've made a good catfish. Inwoo: I thought he wouldn't falter as he was the original straight shooter going for Jihyun but it looks like he has swerved into Gaheun lane. Jihyun: Still the most popular housemate but she also seems to be losing momentum. I think Gaheun has the lead over her purely because Jihyun is quieter and more restrained about expressing her feelings. Would be interesting to see is she continues to pursue Inwoo. Euidong: I think he will continue pursuing Jihyun. It was kind of hinted that they will go on a date together in a future episode. Minjae: Girl finally gained courage and is actively pursuing Hangyul. Go Minjae! I really hope the best for her. Hangyul: Nice dynamics with Minjae but he only has eyes for Jihyun. Just all round sad unrequited love triangle between them. Kangyeol: My guess is that Jihyun will be his original interest. Anna: Would be interesting if they integrated the catfish in at the same time but based on the preview I think not. Have they hinted on the girls' instagrams before? I'm curious who they each picked especially since each guy chose a different girl.
