I'm late to reply to this, this weekend was crazy. But you bring up a good point. HW switching his answer to say he had two people in mind was mean to HJ and petty. Did he do it to bother YJ? Or, if he does mean it, how insensitive to bring it up that way. HJ mentioned he said one of the people was meaningless. So that makes the whole thing even more messed up. It's like, oh we can joke about HJ because her feelings don't matter since she's always giggling and smiling. It's also possible HW DOES have an internal conflict going on (evidence in the way he's been feeling after HS started airing). Still, I feel that the way this is playing out (or the way the show was edited) sucks. The more I think about it, the more I feel HJ would be better off not involved in this triangle.

Started watching the raw last night and finished this morning. Because of the editing they did, I felt it was a waste of an episode, and I was very very eager to watch it before it aired! I don't understand much Korean, but they choose scenes that made HW and HJ look awkward. When normally their "relationship" is usually more easy going. Maybe to make us think he was really, really disappointed? Then they show scenes where YJ is ignoring HW and he looks tormented (and drinking alone in the darkness, lol, how much more cliched than that can you get?). So was the editing done so we believe HW and HJ won't end up together because they are disappointed and the date was awkward and HW only picked HJ as a love line because he was jealous that YJ was laughing it up with her date and ignoring him? I, personally, don't believe he would be that petty. It's also possible he wrote a text to HJ to thank her for the date and have closure. I don't know. Trying to untangle this mess is tiring. PS. HJ is really sweet. I couldn't understand her giggling all the time in the beginning, but she seems like a genuine girl that has her head firmly on her shoulders.

I think it was after the 9th episode that I started thinking WTF? When DaEun had her date with HW. It was unexpected that she said she liked him. And she also said she got sick because of that in the beginning. We never saw anything remotely that showed that. So the show is definitely not showing all the scenes, only select ones to try to influence who we think will end up together.

I really don't think it's a big shock. I think YJ will be absolutely fine, as evidenced by her instagram these days.

I'm with y'all on DG and JM. They seem sweet together.

No one finds it strange that YJ was caught going to his restaurant after filming ended? I'm pretty sure they were given strict instructions to not give away the ending if they did end up as a couple. Why would she go to such a public place? Unless...producers asked her to go to throw people off? Just like they've been concentrating in showing HW and YJ scenes for quite a while. Just makes you wonder. Whatever happens, I'll be less surprised than the first season.

I agree. I'm actually surprised they decided to show a not so flattering moment when they showed the awkward scene between HW and YJ when she went to his room. Up til now, it's mainly been scenes of HW showing interest towards her (coming out of his room as soon as he heard her coming up the stairs, etc). Which makes me wonder what other scenes they are withholding. The ending for season 1 was a shock, and I think it's because they must have edited scenes to lead us to believe something. I mean, that is your opinion and I guess we shall see.

Maybe I should clarify. Relationships are not easy, for sure. However, the period before a relationship should not be so much work. It’s supposed to be exciting, new, fresh, easy. If it’s not, it really is a sign to not continue. Things are not going to magically become awesome later on. Not likely anyway. I’m just talking from experience. Edited to add: I agree this is a particular platform since they’re being watched and it’s a dating show. However, literally every scene has some drama. And I LOVE drama. But this isn’t even the good kind of drama, lol. It’s the good Lord get it together kind.

That's what I'm saying. Basically here's HW: I know who I'm going to pick. YJ: No you don't HW: WTF? Yes I do YJ: Yeah i don't think so, so I don't know either who I'm going to pick HW: ???? That pretty much resumes every single episode lol. He's been pretty clear. At what point is it enough? He seems pretty frustrated. Another telling thing, when YJ and HW are in the car and he says that whoever ends up together after the show will have problems when the show starts airing and everyone sees everything. Homeboy is probably already thinking he will have to deal with another sh*tshow with YJ once she sees the show. hahaha. Who wants to have such a tiring relationship?? ¨

Since I have nothing else to do right now, one more thing. lol I almost feel like in this episode we see HW coming to the realization that he actually likes HJ. It sounds silly, but it's possible that he thought he was making the right choice by picking YJ because thought she had a similar lifestyle to him but after him and HJ being alone together and seeing how things just consistently flow without drama, it could be that he realizes maybe the best pick would be HJ. The whole conversations about who DG might pick might have also been a wakeup call. At the restaurant he kept staring at HJ when she was talking about her date with DG. This could explain why he seems surprised when people keep telling him he is attentive towards HJ. He was doing it naturally without realizing it. The fact he keeps asking people why they think he was being attentive to HJ, could be that he is processing the information in his head and wondering what it means. Maybe he thought it was fate with YJ because he had seen her before and that's why he was determined that she was the right choice for him. But I'm pretty sure HJ does not leave him indifferent and when HW and HJ have their date, that will be confirmed. Voila

Oh one more thing. When HW and HJ were in the car alone, and he asked her why she cried when she went to the hospital with him. She told him sincerely and calmly why. He seemed to appreciate her reply. I can only imagine how this scene would go if it were YJ. hehe

Did we all watch the same episode? Now that I've read the English subtitles, it's even clearer for me. HW picked YJ because he thinks she has the most similar lifestyle to him. He said it himself. Meanwhile, personality wise, you all cannot deny he seems more at ease when he talks to HJ. Other signals: Going down the stairs, he tells HJ who is walking faster "wait, let's go together". That's not something you say to someone you aren't interested in. In the car, he asked HJ if she was upset, and HJ answered honestly. The conversation was quite natural. No drama. Clear and to the point. At the first restaurant, HW appears jealous when he thinks HJ wants to be on GB team instead of his. At the escape room, HW naturally touched HJ, took off her googles, got THISCLOSE to her, etc. You don't do this with people you are not interested in. It just happens naturally. When they were on the bench waiting for YJ and GB to come out, they were sitting very close to each other. At the second restaurant, YJ was all over the place with the games. She seems very high maintenance emotion wise. HW seemed to be faltering in his choice. He could possibly be comparing the two and how much work it seems to be with YJ, even if he does like her. Also, why would he keep insisting that DG wasn't going to pick HJ? Could it be that he finally realizes it would bother him if he did? Kind of like, maybe he assumed HJ would be there for him to pick so he had the luxury to take his time deciding. Later on after the date, he brings it up AGAIN. Why? Do you do this with someone you don't care about? Meanwhile, YJ went to HW and he barely looked at her. From the scene we saw, it was so so so awkward. Could HW have started to get over the whole tiring thing? Even when YJ went to ask him in the morning if he wanted to go out with her, he didn't seem interested. And again, it's YJ asking him out. In the car with YJ, he says his friends told him to be nice to one of the girls. I am almost positive he talked to them about HJ as well. Later at the table with the others, did you all catch that he dismissed YJ date choice? He said he's been to that place and there's only one good thing there and that going there would be a waste. He then started talking of BUSAN and I don't know if you all caught the stares he had towards HJ. I don't disagree HW and YJ might like each other. I just think HW might end up with HJ because she is less high maintenance and it flows and she seems to excite him. Meanwhile, it seems that HW and YJ are never on the same page. And these are the first few weeks before they even start dating. I know many here are YJ super fans, so please don't take my personal opinion too badly. ;)

I haven’t watched the new episode as I have no clue where to find it, but why am I not surprised by y’all saying there was another misunderstanding? Ha. They have a misunderstanding every.single.episode.

I had to create an account to comment. I don't read Korean but from what I gather, everyone hates WJ and I don't get why. I feel like the HW and YJ pairing is forced. There always seems to be some misunderstanding. YJ seems insecure. I don't see this pairing lasting long. With WJ though, it felt more natural. Even after WJ put some distance between them, when they were in the car going to the market, HW kept trying to get close to her again. I think it bothered him that she was cold (and rightly so). As for everyone else, I feel something is off since the 9th episode. Either the editing is off, or the producers are trying to mislead us to create more suspense.
