how many octaves would yall say Jaehyun and Xiaojun have?

quite late cause i forgot about OH for a bit, but I see your Rose comparison! I always thought they were a bit similar in some ways. I do question some of Miyeon's stylistic choices, cause idk if i consider her at the level where she can do them and always sound good, sometimes it sounds a little off for me as a casual listener, but i enjoy her when she's on the right track. When you mention placement for the masked singer perf, where is she and where should she be instead? ahh i see, so you wouldnt say any of the 3 from gidle are "great" or anything. and the gap also isn't very large, but its easy to see who just barely edges the other out? (miyeon edges out yuqi, and yuqi edges out minnie?)

thank you! i didnt think yuqi would be so relatively high :0 (she was my favorite out of the 3, but most fans im around try to place her 3rd behind minnie with a gap and its made me a bit sad cause i didnt think she was that much worse than the other 2 and assumed she was the best one before I started hearing fandom opinions). this rank makes sense to me and i can agree to Miyeon being the best out of the group, thank you! I havent heard anything either from Lia comparable to Miyeon, but I wasnt 100% sure and someone was trying to tell me itzy were comparable or better than gidle and i wanted to make sure it wasnt my ears that were in the wrong thank you~

i know gidle arent necessarily the best, but how would you guys rank their vocal line? (if possible) also, maybe a silly question. but who's better between itzy and gidle

I'm pretty happy with some of my favs, if anything i just wish the ones i was happy with would come back.... but i also have a few that i think could be better, like Loona, i havent been into their songs recently and its a bit regrettable. cant necessarily unstan cause im attatched to the girl's personalities now, but i haven't enjoyed a title in a long while (still like a portion of the newer bsides at least)

Don't think I can I agree with Obsession being bundled here. It doesnt fit any of your points except one. some of your points overlap, so im just gonna clump the ones that do together. and you say Suju and shinee havent fallen into this as if Suju didn't just release 2yaoyao, and Shinee didnt have eras like Lucifer, Ring Ding Dong, Everybody with dark clothes, car motifs, solo shots+dance scene based mvs, complete with EDM dance breaks and flashing lights. I'm putting the rest of my personal thoughts in bold. - EDM song that they think is edgy and ""experimental"" but has actually become very non-experimental because all of their songs now sound like this. Primarily EDM/noisepop but has a vocal based more R&B bridge. Obsession doesnt fit here. It's a Hip Hop/Trap/ R&B based song (and the r&b is found throughout the song and not just in the bridge) and is pretty heavily vocal focused) - The boys have 2 types of outfit per video, one MUST be all black with chains as accessories (IN LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE VIDEO I LINKED THEY ARE WEARING BLACK WITH CHAINS). The other outfit can be a solid other colour (white/red) and is usually biker jackets. the black jacket and chain wearing boys continue to dance to the over produced edm song while the lights flash until the song ends and their groups logo shows up. This is the only thing I can agree with. However, just with these vague descriptions alone, I can pull up several mvs from the old days, so how can you complain about the recipe when it's always existed under SM? how is it any different from the old days? The 2yaoyao, Lucifer, Everybody, RingDingDong mvs I linked earlier along with Suju's Bonamana, Twin's (knock out), DonDon. It's only been a year for NCT, and all years prior they've been different and NCT U havent even comeback since 2018. - flashing laser and neon lights on a artificial background set - NONE of these mv's are filmed in real life locations anymore they are all geometrically built studio sets.the videos basically just show the boys dancing, some occasional solo shots of them in other sets. When have SM ever filmed on IRL sets in abundance? most of their sets are indeed made from the inside of studios save for a few (many of F(x), Shinee, SNSD, and Suju mvs come to mind)....wasnt that a whole thing for SM back then, having all of their groups in box sets and everyone complained about/joked about it? and for the 2nd point of solo shots and dancing, that's almost always been the case for SM groups in general there are more mvs with that formula than without... - overly produced edm dancebreak. car and tiger motifs. Some glitchy graphics / in the case of 100 and Punch, basically the same opening title graphic. Obsession doesnt any of have this. ----------------- Now about NCT +SuperM (which is basically a glorified NCT unit since I genuinly believe SM only bothered to put them together to push NCT further), I do feel a bit similar. That the units overlap a little too much for my personal taste and I'm not a huge fan of the sound. but like another user brought up before me, I believe it's on purpose because before this year everyone was quite different and differentiable, so it's possible SM's just building a brand since that's basically what NCT is. Hopefully next year everyone shows a different side of themselves, cause whether or not I agree, it's just not my tastes. (Edit: except i have a lot of love for Kick It) About WayV's sound. Arent groups like R1se and Unine at the top right now? Not to be mean, but I dont see how some of their music is any different from what Wayv has dropped this year that you linked, seeing songs like this, this, this, and this existing within the last year and few months? Sure they have other songs that don't sound like this, but so do WayV... I'm not trying to argue this specific point here, but I'm just trying to gain insight on this point because I don't keep up with cpop groups, especially the boy groups (sorry), as much as I do my personal biases who all either make ballads or just stick to acting+make appearances for varieties/hosting in china. What exactly would a song catering to the audience sound like if it's not a ballad/ost, since I don't know much beyond my biases? And about WayV's promotion in general, I do wonder a bit why SM doesnt promote them more individually and turning down offers (in winwin's case). but i'd argue it's potentially a risk and it would look weird if only some of them get activities while others don't. Not all of WayV are pure chinese/born and raised in china, so a slip of the mouth or a bad rumor could potentially do harm and it's possible SM is trying to keep that from happening since WayV is still technically based from a korean company. And it's probably likely that SM just doesnt want to promote the group in that sort of way. Would the new attention of a Winwin drama bring fans back to WayV or would they be winwin solo stans you know? WayV came late to the idol game (which isnt their fault, SM probably had trouble setting them up because of thaad), after produce took over I had a feeling it would be hard for them to come up the way SM is trying to without giving them solo promotions. Its probably hard to get them places in general, SM don't have a huge power in China like they do in Korea, so why would a potential promoter want to sign WayV, when they can sign someone from UNINE, R1se, or Nine Percent who would have much greater pull?
