    crap, Yuehua just debuted a GG in Korea and I really like them. Also, my IZ*ONE fave belongs to Yuehua... rlytearpls.png

     

    Tencent is a way too calm behemoth to let Yuehua play like this.

     

    About Chaoyue... I fell for her being that clumsy untalented and too honest girl. I´m not in a hurry to see her improve yet. laugh.pnglaugh.pnglaugh.png

    It's a movie series centered around dancing. The plot is always a bit cliche but the main point in my opinion are the performances.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I hope Moose somehow appears in this latest one too. He's the curly hair guy. Appeared in all of the movies iirc.

    I think it was mentioned before but I just realized it's the Step Up movie series!

    i thought so too, but wondered how much of it would be true because the solo stages were good so they practiced them at some point

     

    and yes i actually like that Meiqi song!

     

    Well I meant they sure had a lot of time to practise, but not much time to practise as a group.imstupid.png Maybe that's why

    lol yes i cant get over the fact that Calorie is their best song; too bad it doesn't work well live, they sound like a church choir

     

     

    To be more accurate, Calorie is their most popluar and well-known song and was insanely popular last year. But I do understand people who're not that into this. Cuz a lot of times, as you know, "the most popular" doesn't mean "the best".imstupid.png But anyways, it IS their most popular song, it's no doubt.

     

     

    Thanks for the update, it's been a couple of months since I came to this thread. Watched Chaoyue, Fujing and Meyun concert stage these days and I noticed how I missed RG.

    i watched their concert the other day, and pretty much enjoyed. they dont have much synergy together and the group stages were the weakest, but the solo stages were amazing. maybe once they release more songs

     

    sunnee caught my attention, she has such a presence on stage. no wonder she has this many fans and they take half of the arena lol

    Yeah the girls are all very good, however the group performance has always been a mehimstupid.png  Maybe it's because they're all busy and don't have enough time to practise together, as they said in the group variety. Anyways I do not care about stage performance that much. If they did a great job it would be awesome. If they didn't I wouldn't get bothered either. But I do understand some people can be strict on stage performances.laugh.png laugh.png

    Produce 101 is a Korean franchise girl group survival show with a huge success. Tencent bought its copyright and made China's version: Produce 101 China, and this show was considered the huge hit of 2018. The words such as Cä½å‡ºé“(debut as centre), pick, 锦鲤(the "lucky koi"), which were more or less related to Produce, became the words of the year in China.

     

    As GVK said, Tencent is a massive company. It runs lots of successful games in China, such as League of Legends, Call of Duty etc etc, it also owns 93% stake in Riot Games. The most popular communication apps WeChat and QQ in China, which almost every Chinese would use, are also created and owned by Tencent.

     

    In the year of 2018, Tencent was no longer satisfied with the success in the Internet industry and decided to take a step into the showbiz. This was how the story startedimstupid.png  One thing worth noting is that Tencent only decides on the directions where Rocket Girls would go, the specific items are dealt with by a company called WaJiJiWa (WJJW). This company is so much a mess and did loads of stupid things. Hopefully one day you can see its stupidity and days later you'll just get used to it.imstupid.png

     

    Another thing worth noting is that right after this group debuted, Yuehua Company (which Meng Meiqi and Wu Xuanyi belong to) wanted to drag Meiqi and Xuanyi out of RG and formed their own group (or whatever they wanted). Zhang Zining was also forced to leave too. That was the darkest moment. You could see there were only 8 members during the debuting press conference, and even in the lastest concert, there were still 8 members performing æ’ž(collide). Then they came back. Just couple of months later this quitting shenanigan happened again.

     

    I don't fully remember the whole thing, but yeah, the girls and fans have all been through a lot of hardships. Good thing that it's a complete group now!laugh.png

     

    RG has released one album 撞(Collide), which contains four songs: 撞(Collide), Light, 月亮警察(Sailor Moon) and 生而为赢(Born to Win), It's the second best-selling album on QQ Music chart (a music chart of Tencent). And almost every member has their solo song. Since there are so many I don't specify in hereimstupid.png

     

    RG has also sang many movie OST's. Their song å¡è·¯é‡Œ(Calorie), the OST of the comedian 西虹市首富(Mr. Billionair) was insanely popular last year. They also sang the movie Venom's promotion song 毒液å‰æ¥ in CHina.

     

    Variety-wise, we have a "small group variety": ç«ç®­å°‘女研究所 (Rocket Girls Research Institution), airs on a weekly basis (and once stopped for around two months). And a "big group variety": 横冲直撞20å² (Rampage 20 years old), in which the girls travelled across the desert Sahara and Poland forests. If you had come here a bit early you could've watched subbed ones. But recently Tencent has been pretty strict with banhammers, so we can't upload the subbed ones.     Activity-wise, the girls have joined League of Legends 7th anniversary, Penguin Basketball Game (an NBA celebrity game-esque basketball game held by Tencent), Super Nova Games (similar to Idol Star Athletic Championship). And Chaoyue was the official assistant ambassador of FIBA's World Cup. And on 10th girls will fly to Houston and perform at the Houston Rockets' home courtahmagahplz.png

     

    Members (in the order of rankings):

     

    Meng Meiqi: from WJSN, belongs to Yuehua company. Used to be centre, but due to the quitting shenanigans she lost centre for a really long time. But now seems like she's back to centre.

     

    Wu Xuanyi: From WJSN, belongs to Yuehua company. Sweetheart.

     

    Yang Chaoyue: Visual. An idol that can't sing or danceimstupid.png  She's really controversial and almost became the icon of 2018. Haters hate her being untalented, fans love her perseverance. The "lucky koi" girl.

     

    Duan Aojuan: Vocal, beautiful voice.

     

    Yamy: Rapper, dancer, team leader. She took over the centre after Meiqi lost it.

     

    Lai Meiyun: Since you come here for her I assume you already know herimstupid.png

     

    Zhang Zining: Vocal. The only college student of this groupimstupid.png

     

    Sunnee: From Thailand. The tomboy of the group. Her popularity is almost the same as top 3.

     

    Li Ziting (Mimi Lee): From Thailand. Vocal. "The only girl of this girl group"imstupid.png

     

    Fu Jing: She can sing and dance. Has the best figure in this group

     

    Xu Mengjie (Little Rainbow): Dancer. She's very sweet.

     

    I joined a Chaoyue's sub team. And we'll try our best subbing videos and uploading themimstupid.png (tbh we've subbed many videos, but we just can't upload them due to copyright issuesimstupid.png )

    HI, I'm trying to get in with this Rocker Girls thread. I've been sort of a SING fan since August of last year and I've been on and off the SING thread. Then during that time, Lai Meiyun joined Rocket Girls and I was not able to keep up with her. I don't even know anything about Rocket Girls warstarplz.png .

     

    Someone please tell me what I need to know!

    Hey welcome! Rocket Girls is the dubet group of the survival show Produce 101 China, same with I.O.I and IZONE etc. It comprises 11 members, all of which are different but equally adorable!

     

    As for Meiyun, yeah she used to be an SING member, but that doesn't mean she isn't now. It is very likely that she'll go back to her former group after this group disbands (in that this group is what's called a "limited group" and will only exist for 2 years). Just couple of comments above you should see a Meiyun fan, so maybe you two can have a chat! ^^

     

    This group has been through lots of ups and downs. Sometimes when I look back I just think man it's so hard to maintain this group complete and now they're doing quite good.
