Vietnam need it's own SB19. Filippinos were just like vietnamese before SB19 arrived: They weren't interested in idol groups. But SB19 changed all of that. I thought D1verse could be that group because never before have a big company like RBW invested in Vietnam.
I think the thing about SB19 is that they are trained for 3+ years. I admit they are very good (synchronized dancing) and have powerful vocal. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese trainees here are only trained for 1 year or less. They are not there yet in terms of skills or willpower.
Most Vietnamese also still think Kpop fans and Kpop related style is copycat and prefer solo singers. You know how us Vietnamese are nationalistic and take pride in our own thing. The need for cultural independence is strong after all those wars and domination. So boyband and girlband take the hit as they have Kpop style. The hottest songs all you no English or foreign languages in the lyrics (Jack K-ICM, Bich Phuong, ..)

So I introduced the SM Entertainment online audition to some of the The Voice Kids finalist 2019 such as Huynh Pham Thanh Tam and Vuong Hong Thuy via Facebook Messenger. The former (15 year old) is very enthusiastic and she has already applied by sending to [email protected]. The latter not so, too young maybe (she's 11). These kids are really good and can be future stars.
The other topic is Vpop groups. There are dating/variety shows like "Tinh yeu hoan my" now that boosts the popularity of Uni5. They are pretty funny. And I discover a cutie called Ngo Hai Nam.
I am losing interest in Vietnamese groups too like Lip B, D1Verse, Uni5 given how little activity they have although their products are quality stuff. Truth hurts. I think SGO48 and 48 concept is dying and not good (even Japan turns the back on them). I think groups just don't work in Vietnam now, even though I still hope things turn around. Not sure if this is why NCT V is not happening because they think Vietnamese don't like groups. Uhh, maybe if it is a entertainment powerhouse like SM they will know how things work with groups. I pray everyday that I see a Vietnamese Kpop Idol though, especially if it is in the Big3.

I love Bao Anh's Latin music direction. Very refreshing and energetic from the usual Vpop sound.

I watched PDX101 and finale so X1 was meaningful for me. Anyway, CSY can't wait to see you grow.

Promise me by Harlan Coben. It's about a former basketball star turn detective trying to solve the mystery of missing high school girls and rescue them.

My first impression of Yeonjun is a dependable and kind person

I like a mysterious and warm guy. He shines the most for me. Bias for now!

OP
Queen's Birthday is April 2nd, 1997. It's on her Facebook profile.
Not sure about Joanne's, but guessing from her Instagram handle, it's July 25th.

Junghwan...Still not getting over him fanboying Jaehyuk's visual in that ot7 vlive, caressing hyung's leg, and everyone was like no no that is wrong you must not do that so uwu
In the vlive, I hope they sit intermixedly without separating ot6 and ot7. That is gonna be awkward.

This hair was lowkey iconic.
Hmm I must say Haruto seems like a great dancer when I watched his old training videos, but when I watched Going Crazy cam I wasn't impressed with his dance. I hope the sudden growth spurt didn't fuck up his moves and it was just an off-day for him.
Agree. His sudden growth seems like a burden making him unable to go all the way with dance

... I will sit at 1. Then ask the kind Asahi to switch with me saying I need to sit in front bcs bad eyesight
and so I can sit right beside Mashi discussing the materials etc
4 because Haruto, Jihoon, and Jaehyuk

I think YG saw how fans like the bts or other video contents of YGTB. The fact that he’s highlighting using Vlive, Youtube, and other social media accounts, he probably will use the same methods for T13, giving loads of content to fans. I think they will use Twitter and Insta, kinda like YGTB did. BP was given a group insta account during their rookie year so maybe they are still setting up everything for T13.

And I agree about 2019 should be solely for T13 (roty purposes). For the debut image, it seems they will be fun, energetic, maknae kids of YG. Debut song wise, I like BB’s We like to Party kind of song for them. Or BB Sunset Glow type song.
I can see it. Definitely the title track is a fun upbeat song with lots of electronic beats based on Kpop history.
I want to see a vocal song between the vocalists like "Last Dance" in the album.
And then a hiphop side track with highlighted Rap verses that features Yoonbin and Haruto.

What I love about him also is he controls his expression and gestures really well. It comes natural to him without force. He has that kinda flirty look that directs to you that makes your heart throb.

Well I don't think public-friendly is at the forefront right now. I think doing something different and building a big fandom is. NCT doesn't chart well, or at all sometimes and I've been of the opinion SM doesn't care about charts with them. Just building a fandom and touring the heck out of them when they are big enough.
The public will check it out simply because it's YG. The public also knows Yedam, which is a huge advantage. Out of all the companies debuting their 4th generation, YG has the only trainee that the public knows and practically watched grow up. Yedam will be the ace for chart attention.
I disagree. NCT is the artist that sells the most for SM in 2018 with over 660,000 copies so I don't get why NCT is not public friendly, unless our public friendly definition is different. Like the kind you talk about is songs being blasted everywhere, even kids know like 'Love scenerio.' However, they are not mutually exclusive. Album sales = popularity.
I think being public friendly is the ultimate goal of YG.
It shows in his looking for visual and his many members because the more members, the more the group caters to niched fans and various taste.
Yedam is famous yeah, but this group has so many outstanding and famous members visually and charisma wise such as Junkyu and Haruto that will make them known.

Just a minor thing but even though I love the song, reading the English translation of "Going Crazy" makes me laugh so hard because there are literally 13,14,15 year old in this group and the song has "our twisted body and breathing by your side" LOLLLL
I agree that unit performances like 17 would be a great idea
-
Honestly, what would the members truly feel about this OT13? We would never know. Downside is in big groups, some of them would not shine as others.
-
-
YG and his impulsive nature lol, but I AM SO HAPPY !!!!! finally we can stop this long series drama with OT13 AND WE HAVE TREASURE 7 BUT BETTER

Junghwan is really coming for that top spot in my bias list

Dropping his fansites list here for people who are interested in supporting this cutie:

He is indeed popular in SK, I don't get what ifans have against him when he's a baby.
IKR
He has the best fall during the "Goosebump" stage. He can do martial arts. He sings decently. Cute.
don't worry people will realize.

A concept like "Going Crazy" would be so refreshing. Reminds me of the good old days of 2007-2008

+1
And Haru is so thoughtful. He really seems to care for everyone he comes across.
He has such a kind soul. He cries during the elimination round and works well with bandmates. Seems like such a polite and behaved older brother and son too.

-
According to some, we can't discuss members of the other group here so please don't mention their names....;)
LMAO I don't really care for "some" of these imitated YG nation fans's childish opinions. Nothing wrong with this. When Twice and BlackPink has an interaction, each fan page still posted the GIF with joy. Let alone these brotherly groups.
Let's not create conflict for Treasure Box trainees turned idols if you are a true YG nation fan.

Now that they debut in the same company, won't Haruto still lend Yoshinori charger? LOL
