  1. It's all MNET's fault, that's why you shouldn't focus on 1 or several characters only when you have 101 people

But the thing that actually works in this type of show is giving people storylines and play up the drama, so it doesn't get boring. You can't build a storyline if you don't focus on anybody.

  2. Anyway lmao. I kinda want to talk about idol culture. So it’s well established that Korean men are more touchy than men in Western countries. But, the level of touchiness when it comes to idols is definitely levels above and should be its separate topic instead of just saying that’s just how koreans are.

Could it be because they train together and live together for so many years? Or is it because there are a lot of queer idols (as mentioned previously by some “insidersâ€/people in the industry? Since a lot of things can be seen purely as fan service maybe they think they can be more open?

Would love to hear what you think.

Honestly in a lot of cases (including BTS) I think that it's a mix of close friendship + fanservice expectations, and sometimes actual attraction. I don't think there are many actual couples, but considering most groups debut in their late teens, there has to be some crushes, and maybe sexual experimentation.

  3. I thought the X member will be from accumulated votes from all votings but now when I watch the show with subs it says it will be votes from 4 votings so what is the truth?

also, not being admitted into training center because your skills are lacking is like the most stupid and illogical thing I have heard in a while. seriously waiting for some plot twist because it makes zero sense.

There are 4 voting periods leading to eliminations so "4 votings" means the whole run of the show.

  4. didn’t somi sat on number 1 in the first ep?

Nah she sat on the last remaining chair, which was number 59. Samuel chose to sat on it the next year because of it ^^

The ones who sat on number 1 in the previous seasons :

    - Chanmi : evil edited

    - Moonbok : not a visual, and not talented enough to make it

    - one of the ex YG trainees : zero screentime after she sat up there

The best example has to be Idol Producer, the guy had some unsavory videos (of him being a misogynistic asshole) that resurfaced before the show started, he was kicked out and edited out completely.

    That seat is cursed.

  5. Not really. He was invisible for me during jima. I saw more the people behind him lol his dance may be quite alright but his stage presence is non-existent. Sakura, Yoojung, Daehwi win by miles

I think it's more a question of stage setup. Dongpyo is tiny, the stage is dark and so are the clothes so everyone kinda blends in. I'm really not a fan of the jima MV tbh and had they had the same setup for jima as nayana, Dongpyo would have shined just like Daewhi did. He has a very similar aura for me, especially looking at his PR video.

  6. I think Seobin must have ranked high at first and then messed up during the re-evaluation. He's a great singer and pretty good dancer, definitely not deserving of being in X rank.

This has been my speculation since I saw his individual cam, his dancing in it was worth a B/C not anything lower. He probably blanked out during re-eval because of nerves, he wouldn't be the first.

  7. Daniel's lawsuit will kill his a large part of his fanbase, non hard-core fans arent gonna wait for months or years of literally nothing. He shouldve gone through with the debut and fm tour (which they already sold to promoters) then sue the company after that.

If he had started to work before fixing the contractual issues, it would have been much harder with the court, because starting to work for whoever LM had sold his contract to, could have meant that he had implicitly agreed to it.

So basically Daniel had to cancel his solo debut to better his chances of getting the court to agree with him. It certainly pained him but not being treated like a slave for the upcoming 5 years is much more important than losing a few fans.

  8. Yeah all of his moves feel effortless and are so sharp and clean. His facial expressions were on point too.

I hope he gets to have his "Chungha moment" at some point because he's way too good not to.

Thing is, if he only has talent he won't be interesting enough for Mnet - he needs an engaging personality too.

  9. there seems to be a great disparity in skills for the x trainees.  some looks like they had no clue what they were doing, and others i feel did better than those ranked higher...i wonder how you get put in that rank..

In previous seasons trainees had exactly one shot at re-eval. If their nerves got in the way, made them forget moves or lyrics, they were basically guaranteed D/F. So basically they may be good to begin with, but they flunked it. It's probably what happened to Seobin, he dances like people in B or C but he's in X.

Last year several talented girls dropped to F (like Yoojin and Gyuri).

  10. I'm really confused by the timing of everything this season. Why start promos and filming so early if it isn't airing until early May? Are the boys just going to sit around and do nothing for more than a month until the first elimination? What's going on?

(BTW since pretty much all rumors so far have been fake, so I'm choosing to believe that list is as well.)

They'll just have a longer break than usual between the first evaluation filming, and the first elimination. There's always been a break at that time, there's a bit of filming for the variety sections during the elimination episode but it just takes a few days and after that they go back to their companies. Last year the AKB general election happened at that time (with Jurina's subsequent breakdown).

  11. ya am sure that JYP dont want his group be successful after putting so much money into them not like the company benefits for his group successilikeitplz.pngilikeitplz.pngilikeitplz.png

Seriously people who think that JYP sabotages his groups... JYP just knows that a steady fandom is the key to long term success, and you can't grow it overnight. Concert tickets and merchandise bring money, not music show wins.

  12. now that i've read the list, i'm most surprised that WM has a 5 year trainee who's 26 years old.

I wonder why they didn't debut him in ON/F last year.

and it's almost enlistment time for him (unless he's already been)

    interesting situation

These are Korean ages, so he's 24 internationally.

  14. I almost thought this was real when we first heard about the rumor, but I don't anymore.  We actually know most of the male trainees in JYP, one good thing about being a trainee in the big 3, people already know you before you even debut.  And theirs no Yoon Seobin.  He would've been cast in the last few months if he's somehow an actual trainee, but why would JYP send someone brand new, and not one of their elite trainees whose been there for years.  It just doesn't make sense to me.

The remaining "elite" trainees either left around SKz debut or are going to debut in his upcoming Chinese group. JYPE won't be debuting a boy group for the next 2 years at least, so it doesn't make much sense to stay there if you're ready to debut.

  15. I wouldn't necessarily expect a JYP Trainee to receive an A evaluation, JYP just debuted a large group less than 2 years ago. I'm sure the trainees they had at that time would have been part of the lineup if they had been ready. Or at least been pictured a few times with the members of Stray Kidz. It's possible that the trainee they sent is new 2> or their skills aren't good yet.

Stray Kids debuted just one year ago actually (their upcoming comeback is on their first anniversary).
