You know which male idol isn’t homophobic?
reiichi replied to anxiety's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Yeah when they went to KCon NY, the second day they didn't have a concert and spent their day filming for their vlive variety in the city. It was pride day, they watched for a while and seemed interested, greeted the few fans that recognized them, then went of filming. The variety show didn't include that part of their day, but there were a few photos on twitter to prove it. -
Operating profits of SM, JYP, and YG in Q3 2019.
reiichi replied to le.ah's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
If you're a competent professional finding work elsewhere in your field isn't that difficult. If YG closes down, other companies will be here to snatch their part of the business, and will have to hire someone to take care of it. So basically will end up hiring former YG employees who already have the knowledge. -
Pledis already gives them creative freedom, and since they're the big earners when it's time to renew it will be on their own terms, so it's either they all stay, or decide to create their own company so they can stay together, ala Shinwha/Highlight (I can't see them disbanding honestly, their collective brand is more powerful than their individual popularity, and they work together very well). Bumzu renewed, Nu'est renewed, the few After School girls that had a solo career renewed. So I'm guessing that, at least when it comes to profit split, Pledis has good contracts, but you basically have to be able to sell yourself out there because they're not going to put a tremendous effort in finding you work. Of course the company itself has ties elsewhere in the entertainment industry, so they're not exactly useless to their artists, but they seem to be more reactive than active. But now that SVT is a bona fide top group, they don't need the agency's name to open doors anymore.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
reiichi replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Also would like to mention once more their bold fashion statements, Byeongkwan's crop tops in the last comeback in particular. -
X1 can live off its fandom, and having the group ostracized will only make fans even more determined to support them so they can be the cash cows CJ wants them to be, even without any CFs or variety outside of CJ-owned channels. So for the boys' companies, it's basically an image VS profit dilemma. They'll try to pull their boys out if they value their image more than the potential money. Not sure if the current contracts would allow that though, and it would damage their relationship with CJ (still a huge media conglomerate) if they have to take them to court to dissolve the contract. So in the end it's going to be CJ's call, and CJ doesn't have to care about image.

[pannchoa] [enter-talk] YG'S STAFF GIVING YOU A REALITY CHECK
reiichi replied to Ash-Pikachu's topic in Netizen Nation
YGE has been bleeding employees for several years now, with a very high turnover rate, so firing someone for pointing out the problems within the company would be counter productive. He may be a contractant though and not care about being hired again by them, since the company is about to shrink down drastically or even close down, depending on what they manage to salvage after paying their dues to LVMH next month. -
Audio-C Nine Percent - More Than Forever (Full Album)
reiichi replied to Velvet Queen's topic in Music
Kinda sad they don't even have a single song together on this. Having to record separately because of different schedules isn't even an excuse, there are plenty of people who manage to make collab songs while living on opposite sides of the planet. NPC were only vaguely a group up until their 'debut' EP, after that iQiYi just seemed to renounce to promote them as an entity. -
NINEPERCENT to release farewell album 'More Than Forever'
reiichi replied to 5201314's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Well they had a short contract, and iQiYi didn't make much of it. Heck it's super obvious that all of the boys were shot separately for this poster and frankly it hurts a bit to know they barely did anything together. I also would like to have a word with the stylist, specifically about Kun's clothes. Who okayed this ? It's downright ugly. -
But the biggest scandal was on YG's part - BI isn't the one who bribed the police to have his illegal activities covered up. By throwing him under the bus YG tried to distract everyone from their own wrongdoings, which were MUCH WORSE than purchasing drugs in the first place. And sadly it seems to work, people are focusing on the fact that BI is facing a trial for purchasing drugs, not on the fact that the South Korean police is corrupt af.

Also of note Jisung has (had ?) no friends his age outside of the group, and it was the main reason he cited for joining Dancing High : he wanted to meet people his age that he could become friends with. So yeah it's most probably just feeling left out by someone he's very close to, without it being sexual. -
Why TWICE not doing well in chart with 'Feel Special' this comeback?
reiichi replied to JoJo29's topic in Netizen Nation
Prioritizing long term growth and fandom over chart success is literally JYPE 2.0 strategy, so really not something I'm saying to drag anyone ? -
Hyuna & Hyojong are still relevant because they're the ones who decided to make their relationship public, rather than being outed by a tabloid like the other cases, and have been very public about it since. They do fashion photoshoots together, they're signed to the same agency, and they're all over each other's instagram.

Why TWICE not doing well in chart with 'Feel Special' this comeback?
reiichi replied to JoJo29's topic in Netizen Nation
JYP doesn't really care about digital charts anyway, his strategy is to build stable fandoms because that's how he makes the most money in the long term. Twice still sells more albums than any other girl group and he'll only try to change his strategy if these start tanking. Heck, Stray Kids still don't chart but with their sales going up steadily with each comeback he's not even trying to push for public friendly songs (I mean I really like Side Effects but trance isn't exactly the most trendy type of sound ATM). -
Nobody actually has talked about Jihyo and Daniel since about a week after it was revealed.

Well Dongpyo is Daewhi 2.0, I've said it from the day his PR video dropped and everything since has reinforced that impression. He's still young though, just turned 17, so probably not so sure of anything himself. Can we talk about Yohan's gay panicking though ? -
He's been creepy in all the teasers, so pretty sure it's on purpose lol.

Frankly the only thing the lawsuit set in stone was that hard 7 year limit, and it forced agencies to always split profit with the artist (otherwise it would be slave work), but there's no minimum so agencies get away with unfair splits like this one. TS has a legal team that makes sure the contracts themselves can't be attacked in court ; that's why B.A.P. ended up going back to work after their dispute, and just endured until their contracts ended.

Honestly the big problem of Boys24/In2it is that they're under MMO, which is a very shitty agency even by Korean standards. Fromis_9 is also a permanent group from one of Mnet's survival shows and they're pretty well managed because they're under a decent agency (Off The Record). So once the show is over it will just depend on the agency they're under. I dunno the reputation of their future agency but being as bas as MMO is... quite difficult.

Honestly if it had been Chaewon or one of the vocal trainers who had said it, then things would have gone a lot better for Yunjin. I'm pretty sure that the trainers would have suggested it if she hadn't forced the others' hand, and Nako would have given it away even more gracefully.

Frankly the initial grading in S2 was much better. BoA was very strict about giving As and the seven that got one kept it at re-eval.

Wasn't this filmed before Roy Kim's name was mentioned in the Burning Sun fiasco though ?

With the amount of screentime he got this episode he's guaranteed to rise a lot next week.
