  1. VHeartbeat announced that the cancellation was by CJ's request. Which means CJ themselves are throwing X1 under the bus.
  2. It's still not as strict as most of the Western world since it's possible to buy guns (and ammunition) legally, and keep them at home. When Australia decided to really crack down on guns after one too many mass shootings, they didn't just make it harder to buy guns, they actually banned most and the government bought back the ones people had in their homes and couldn't legally own anymore. And it was extremely effective in preventing other mass shootings.
  3. If their appearance is cancelled on such a short notice (and in contradiction with what they were still saying a few hours ago) it has to be because something is happening behind the scenes. I wouldn't be surprised if it's an agency that didn't sign the contract that's pulling their boy(s) out.
  4. I don't think he's delusional, he knows the whole country hates him. But he should still have the same rights as other Korean Americans, and be able to visit the country on a tourist visa to see his family.
  5. What if they asked not to be in the final group ? Because considering who was probably rigged out, for some it may have been their personal choice, or their agency asking for it.
  6. In 2015 YGE as a whole still sold more than BTS, but BTS was already ahead of Big Bang in total sales despite BB having more releases (thanks to the MADE series). Not that BB was really losing steam, but more like 3rd gen selling a ton more than 2nd gen. Starting in 2016, YGE was dwarfed by not only SM (who were the undisputed #1 in sales), JYPE (with GOT7 starting to sell better after their rookie year, and TWICE hitting it big from debut) and BigHit (BTS had blown up). Facts are that YGE earned a ton more from Big Bang's touring than their album sales, and that's the money that allowed them to become more than a simple entertainment agency and earn the status of 'big3'. When it comes to Korean album sales BB did pretty good but nothing that exceptional compared to other boy groups. What makes them legendary is their success abroad, and how popular they've always been with the general public.
  7. It's not that they "admitted" to it, they filmed themselves doing it and shared the video in the chat. It was very clear that she was passed out, there was a whole disgusting conversation about it after they posted it.
  8. I think it's all the more noticeable that Jun does a lot of fanservice with Donghun & Chan, but not with them, and while they're very touchy it's never as over the top as whatever Jun does (especially during concerts). And yeah their body language makes it look super natural.
  9. They had just one group comeback this year and their older albums are nowhere in the Gaon chart atm, whereas Stray Kids has almost their whole discography in the october chart. More than 100k of their 2019 sales are their 2018 releases because new fans are catching up and thus buying everything. Meanwhile Got7 has a stable fandom so they don't sell older albums that much.
  10. He didn't close it but it's now a strictly professional account he won't manage himself.
  11. Skz released two minis and their fandom has been growing a lot (so they're selling older albums too).
  12. As I said I dunno. I searched some info but I couldn't find any number for 2019 in English (and I can't read Korean so...). And from that chart it does look like iKon was the top earner for YG last year (and the biggest earner after Big Bang for the two years before), and it's only this year that BP took over.
  13. This was a mistranslation, what that article stated was that the staff decided of the ranking of the remaining 20 before the final (and thus before the text votes even started to come in). There is absolutely NO way that the top 20 was pre-determined from the start of the show, because there were way too many debuted trainees for Mnet's taste. Not saying they didn't manipulate screentime (because they did), but editing such as show is an adaptative process that depends on public response and on what the trainees actually say and do. If they have an interesting storyline they'll just air it (Hyeonsu's dad going viral in the fandom by promoting his son on the street ? Sure let's talk about that. Suhwan and Yuvin ending up competing for main vocal three rounds in a row ? that's golden from a TV standpoint).
  14. Hm dunno iKOn had a pretty big tour in Japan, with two concerts a day sometimes.
  15. SVT has a big fandom, their music just doesn't resonate with the general public, and without GP attention you can't really chart. Also Korean charts have been heavily biased towards OSTs and ballads this year, even more than usual.
  16. Wonyoung has natural stage presence and she fits the Korean beauty standard to a T. Yujin is the one from Starship whose ranking was suspicious, Wonyoung not so much.
  17. Frankly physical sales aren't a good way to judge how YG groups are doing, they've always relied on GP success over fandom, and touring. And honestly I don't know which group brought the most money from touring this year.
  18. Stray Kids released 2 new albums this year so far (with a third one coming next month), and Got7 just one. And SKz fandom has been growing steadily over the year, which means new fans also are buying their older albums (if you look at the october chart the only Stray Kids album that's not in top 100 is Clé 2 : Yellow Wood). More than 100,000 of the sales are from their 2018 releases (Mixtape + I Am series). In the sense that they didn't fall down but actually went up one place thanks to Wanna One's disbandment, yeah pretty much.
  19. Most actually start college before enlistment. The reason is that they spend high school preparing for the university entrance exam, and they have to start college right after the results of that exam, so they generally do their first year of college, then enlist, then go back to college once they're done. And they graduate high school the year of their 19th birthday so most are 20 when they enlist.
  20. Produce has never been about talent so Sakura dominating was never about talent, or even mediatization, she just had a strong fanbase voting for her daily throughout the show. It's probable Wonyoung surpassed her in the final thanks to the more casual fans voting.
  21. Cube allowed them to date just fine for more than two years, they just didn't want it to be public.
