  1. Considering it's supposed to be for 16 people, it's actually not that much. It's about the price of a nice hotel for the same amount of people, but with a lot more space.
  2. Jin, Jungkook and Namjoon could totally pull this off lol. They generally hide it under clothes but they're pretty muscular.
  3. Stray Kids used the exact same bus as Twice in their debut MV. I already miss the pirate concept of Ateez >_<
  4. A ton of Produce 101 contestants who had even less screentime than them, still gained a following.
  5. Sorry but I'd believe Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder over Amber Heard any day. Pretty sure that if Depp was "an abusive druggie" Vanessa wouldn't let him anywhere close to Lily Rose, she put her career on hold for years for their daughter and she's come to Johnny's defense several times.
  6. Development, whatever the technology, strongly benefits from an engineering background. You don't become a good developer by just learning to code in whatever language is trendy, you need solid understanding of computer science. A good developer isn't just someone who writes good code, it's someone who's good at understanding complex concepts and digest them in order to solve problems. Because 80% of the work of a developer is to find the right solution when facing a problem, writing the actual code doesn't take that much time.
  7. Dunno whether Johnny Depp will win his own case against her (evidence seems to be sparse), but at least the trial is going to clear his name and he'll be able to go back to acting like normal. I seriously hope Heard never gets the spotlight again, she's just a piece of shit for trying to ruin his life with false accusations.
  8. The trial is happening at the moment. Depp's exes (Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis) were ready to testify in his favor but Amber Heard has so little evidence supporting her claims that Johnny Depp's lawyer decided he didn't need to bother them with this and just cancelled their testimony.
  9. Tours are the biggest money makers for about every boy group under the sun, including BTS. Yes there's a cost to setting up a tour, but kpop concerts are very expensive, double the price of about any other concert in the exact same venues (and it's not a question of "they have to go to the other side of the world to perform here", my point of comparison is mostly Japanese artists who have to travel about the same distance). YG sent BlackPink touring last year because they were in dire need of cash (because of LVMH withdrawing their investment). Their modeling in between comebacks does make a bunch of money without much company effort, but in the end it doesn't generate as much profit as touring.
  10. I once ate at the table next to Vincent Cassel in a restaurant in Paris (the food was pretty good but it wasn't a fancy place). I'm not going to count all the famous people I've seen at concerts or during conventions, but standing next to CLAMP for more than one hour while taking photos of the cosplay contest they were judging is a pretty unique memory.
  11. I'd say they're going to debut a group anyway, Dongpyo's fame is going to fade if he doesn't get a real debut soon, and he's the company's main hope atm. And maybe the trainees who left were cut out of the potential group in an effort to reduce the group's final size - a smaller group is just cheaper to debut and manage.
  12. I find Daeyeol more handsome just by virtue of being the only one with a manly vibe (which makes sense since he's much older). Favorite visuals have to be Jaehyun though, he's very pretty.
  13. She doesn't just take drugs, she's a dealer and the only reason why she got probation the first time she got caught was because she threw one of her clients under the bus. Sure she helped expose the corruption at YGE but that's the only positive thing she's ever done. She obviously didn't care about the collateral damage (B.I.), and the next reputation she ruined (Wonho), it was completely gratuitous.
  14. The seniority/hierarchy, and the lack of mental health support, are not exclusive to kpop, are general issues with Korean society and not just with Kpop. I'd argue that the life of a kpop trainee is pretty similar to that of a young athlete or virtuoso, and nobody questions the existence of programs aimed at teenagers with an innate talent for sport or classical music. Korean teens are extremely pressured to do well in school so becoming an idol trainee is a way to deploy their energy at something they actually aspire to do, rather than the vague aim of getting in a good university. Becoming a trainee is a choice, and putting them under pressure is a good way to weed out those who don't have the mental fortitude to withstand celebrity life. I'm not saying the system is perfect, but most if not all of the defects of the Kpop industry are tied with how terrible Korean society at large is, and how terrible a lot of Korean laws are (especially labor law).
  15. This. Bullying is a societal problem in Korea because it's a bad look to speak against your superiors/elders, even if what they're doing is wrong.
  16. Starship is actually pretty good at managing their groups and giving them opportunities, be they boys or girls. But when it comes to the way they treat their idols as people, they're pretty iffy.
  17. He used to have a big crush on Jinyoung of GOT7 and didn't even try to hide it. Also Daewhi calls him his best friend and we were just talking about friend circles so...
  18. Daniel is a social butterfly so his friendships aren't any indication lol. He's at the very least open minded and just as comfortable with male attention that he is with female attention (judging by his sweet interactions with fanboys, and how unbothered he seemed by Mark's crush on him in It's Dangerous Beyond the Blankets). Frankly the only thing that ever made me think that Daniel might be attracted to men is his reaction to shirtless Wonho and er, he might just have been impressed because it's a sight. Daniel rarely has sexually charged interactions with anyone tbh.
  19. You can have empathy for someone (understand their struggles) while lacking sympathy for them (because they're selfish, shitty people who don't care about others, so why should we care about them). The only reasonable thing to do with toxic people is just to shun them. If afterwards they feel terrible because of being alone... well they had it coming. And it's the only way for them to actually learn.
  20. Psychopathy is very, very hard to cure though, because it's linked to the development of the brain. There have been rehabilitation studies on psychopathic teenagers that showed promising results, but it's tied to the fact that teenagers' brains are still malleable, and it takes a long time. After 25 years old, brains become much less malleable, so it becomes increasingly difficult to modify deeply ingrained behaviors.
  21. There's a pretty big number of American soldiers stationed in South Korea in the first place so most were probably already there when the country closed down ; also the military has its own fleet and airports so the restrictions to international travel doesn't really apply. After Wuhan went into isolation a few foreigners could still leave thanks to military flights.
  22. The leader's personality has a huge influence on any group's dynamic and overall image, so when you look at Seventeen interact you just know that S.Coups is a really nice person (even when he's not present).
  23. Reconciliation won't happen, the way Jimin acted is textbook narcissism and her initial response ("Fiction") just showed her complete lack of empathy. She's a psychopath.
