  1.

Whoa Official Twitter account! So they will promote overseas after all, nice! I guess Bangkok will win this thanks to the thai line.

Promoting overseas by going to just one foreign city? And people have to vote on it? Why Kuala Lumpur of all places? Basically just places with a big Overseas Chinese population it seems.

The girls are traveling to Korea for MV filming and stuff anyways, why not put Seoul on the list and collab with the Cosmic Girls!

Every idol in Korea and China should learn to ride a horse. If you have ambition you’re going end up in drama and good chunk of those are historic or fantasy.

Cheng Xiao’s gone. The second she got on a horse it took her on a different path.

I don't want to have these morbid thoughts, but I feel it's legitimate to ask this: What if worst case scenario C-Lines doesn't renew their contracts and stays in China? Can WJSN continue without them?

They already have. First win and pretty much most of two albums. They are doing well without the China Line to be perfectly honest.

But I would like to see them all together one more time. There needs to be a Rocket Girls collab.

  3. Whoa! Mengjie and Chaoyue takes the 4x150M relay. They also had PD101 colleague Jiang Shen from SING on their team. Xuanyi was the anchor for the 2nd place team.

The physical proportions of Mengjie, Chaoyue and Xuanyi are really beautiful to look at. Very long legs and small faces.

Rocket Girls are everywhere in this competition.

  4. Oh boy, I'm cackling over here because back then I already knew that a theater wasn't gonna happen, not in a million years, and people kept on pushing and pushing and pushing for it, negging and flaming anyone who dared say that they didn't think it would happen. Good times. Funny how things happened. Exactly like I said they would.

LOL. Yeah, it was nuts to think there would be a theater after this. But there was one who was just ADAMANT.

This thread is so epic. It was a hell of a lot of fun. Irritating at times but hella fun.

I spent so much time in this thread but ended up following the Rocket Girls more than IZONE. LOL

  5. not sure if it was posted. sorry if repeated.

Kimberly was on last week's (?not sure) yo! bang episode

[i wish her company hired better producers? her latest releases were... so-so. this song is better than the previous one though]

    .

Chen Yihan was on the same episode too

Kimberly! Yihan, still beautiful. So glad the girls are getting opportunities. Though I know Kimberly had a career even before PD101. If they’re on Yo! they had hit songs in China?

  6. I am not going to say I disagree but I don't totally agree either. The main problem SB has is that some other groups out there (like Rocket Girls) are operated by distributors/promoters directly (e.g. Tencent) which gives them a direct feed into those networks. Tencent is able to make them bigger than they truly are by putting them everywhere. SB has to rely on its partners (Tencent being one) to promote it and, obviously, that can be hit and miss.

How poor are they if they can make $30M at their general elections and that after a raising $150M in investor money?

From what I’ve seen in the 48 world, SB is doing pretty well. Definitely way ahead of the other overseas 48s for sure. The production quality of their MVs are an indication of pretty substantial funding. Those for the Senbatsu winners (Princess Cloak, Endless Story, Naples) and Summer votes are far better than anything AKB or the Rocket Girls put out, IMO.

That said, a mammoth company like Tencent that owns the entire cross section of the media world will always be able do more than an agency like SB.

  7. The only thing that NPC doesn't have is group album. Group CFs? Tons! Solo CFs? Tons! Every member has them. Reality shows? Solo members got them. Solo songs? All members got them. Solo stages? Guess what, some members have solo stages too. And let's not talk about individual members topping the chart as well because that would have taken more space.

My advice to you, if you wanna diss someone, make some research first. At least go to the first page of NPC thread and see what members have done and achieved, before suddenly coming in here and writing inaccuracies.

Let’s not get your panties in a twist here. No one is dissing anyone. It was a comment on the business model of Tencent versus Iqiyi. Tencent seems to put more value on the debutting group than Iqiyi which seems more concerned about the show. Your reply about SOLO songs, SOLO stages, SOLO cfs, SOLO shows proves my point.

It is just about where Tencent and Iqiyi expect to make their money. Come on, advertising their S2 show before the S1 group gets their furst album? You don’t have to be a marketing genious to understand that you should not cannibalize interest for the current group with a new faces from the second show unless you care only about the show not the group.

I’m glad that NPC is getting their first album. This is no shade towards the boys but Iqiyi. Tencent does thing right, IMHO. They bought the license and then supported the group despite YH creating division. If your boys had been under Tencent, you’d been fed a lot better and be a less angry now.

  8. Most Chinese fans don't really realize there's a fairly big international fandom already for SNH (especially in Indonesia)

There is a pretty substantial amount of fans in Korea with many of the members like Kiki and Kiku being well known and on Nate and Naver all the time. I get my media on SNH48 mostly through YouTube though since I’m in the US. A lot of the stuff on Youtube for SNH are in Vietnamese and Japanese. Twitter has European and South American tweeters for the group.

For a group that doesn’t do anything overseas SNH48 have a decent amount of foreign fans. Part of it is being a former member of the AKB family which drives interest from an established fanbase, I’m sure. SNH’s visuals are a big draw, in Korea for sure, but in Japan and other places as well.
