  1. I'm pretty sure Yui let Paru win, but I'm not sure how rigged the whole thing was. It could have been that they'd told the less popular girls to lose if they came up against a management favourite.

Oh sorry I never looked into the whole thing and all the other girls, I only know about the winners. Sorry I should have clarified - I was only talking about rigging for the winning girl, and I have no clue about the others.

  2. hello i want to ask, about janken tournament, why i read some article that it was scripted, dunno if it was because their favorite didn't win ?

what do you think? is it really scripted

Only some were scripted, not all. I have no idea about the earliest 2 tournaments because I never watched them. But rational-thinking fans generally agree that the 2 janken tournaments that Paruru (2012) and Jurina (2013) won were rigged because the winning girl just played the same hand through the whole tournament, as you can see here:

These 2 tournaments decided the centers for 2 major single releases which AKS invests a lot of resources into (and expects a lot of sales from), so they didn't want to leave these centers up to chance. So they obviously just told all the girls that Jurina will do paper and Paruru will do scissors and they should let them win.

After seeing these 2 tournaments were obviously rigged, fans were also suspicious of the 2014 tournament that Milky won. This one is harder to say for certain, but there were things that raised suspicion - Milky had become a prominent member in 48g, she was the absolute last girl to make her entrance onto the stage (and was on the very end of the tournament tree), and there was a little bit of a repeated hand pattern (although it was subtle). [edit: I forgot to add Sayanee-Osaka-tower defeating Takamina-Tokyo-tower, which probably symbolized that it was NMB's turn to win a janken]. On the other hand, this was the year they changed it to a solo single with a coupling song so it wasn't going to be such a big investment anymore, so a chance center would be ok. But then again they might have changed it because Milky, being in NMB, was not managed by AKS who does not allow non-AKS girls to center any of their major singles. So maybe this one is a bit foggy compared to the last 2, but fans certainly had a right to feel suspicious about it. And when you view the bigger picture - push girl in AKB gets a rigged janken, push girl in SKE gets a rigged janken, and now push girl in NMB winning janken... yeah I'm fairly confident it was rigged too lol.

But from 2015 onwards it seems there was no more rigging. Management probably realized fans were rolling their eyes at them laugh.png.

The only thing I think about it .... is that being scripted, how much power management has to keep 137891387312 girls quiet about it, even when they left the group years ago ...

The girls probably just see it as an aspect of showbiz. Even on variety shows they occasionally do some little slightly scripted thing, or exaggerate reactions, etc. every once in a while. They also might not want to be known as the tattletale, worrying that people will think they are attention-seeking or jealous/resentful of the girl that won. And Japanese group mentality probably plays a part.

    Sayanee's message from Metrock:

SKE48's Okada Miku showed her admiration of Sayanee in both her SSK poster and appeal video by holding a rainbow rose and talking about the 'infinite possibilities' (ç„¡é™ã®å¯èƒ½æ€§) it represents (part of the lyrics of 'Rainbow Rose')

And Kojirin revealed a Sayanee oshi Tshirt near the end of her appeal video:

  4. Please someone help me: Why did Sakura have to leave AKB? I understand she's an HKT member originally but why does she have to leave AKB?

I think AKB was cancelling most, if not all kennins (concurrent positions). It doesn't really matter anyway. She will still appear in AKB singles as one of the front members. They could even make her center again.

  5. When it comes to election HS slots, can you get a HS slot for one girl and vote for another?

For instance sign up for Sayanee's HS slot and vote for Miru?

Imagine having lots of people show up to your HS and they're only there because their oshi's slots are full. Your slot fills up and you expect a good SSK result but then you end up not ranking.

Yes. This actually happens. Some people will have lots of HS tickets so they sometimes just use them up on some random girl.

  6. I made a spreadsheet with sortable data about the contestants (including PHOTOS), both Japanese and Korean.

I will be updating the ranks as the show starts, as well.

Nice chart smile.png . But I thought I would point out a little mistake: The company for the NMB48 girls is incorrect - they are now under 'Showtitle', which is a subsidiary fully under Yoshimoto Kogyo. The change happened in December 2016 smile.png.

Metrock Tokyo will be live broadcasted on AbemaTV on the 26th and 27th, plus on the 25th they will show a special interview with some of the artists (including Sayanee) and a little visit to Sayanee backstage at the Osaka concert. And on the 21st they're doing a rerun of her AbemaTV solo live from last year too.

And she left a comment on the Metrock website: http://metrock.jp/artist/detail/yamamotosayaka/

On radio she shed a bit of light as to why she was in New York. Watching live shows and taking song lessons. https://irietime.exp.jp/appare20180514

She gave a little support message for the 2018 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference being held in Kagoshima: https://www.instagram.com/p/BiSOmNCgsF4/
  8. Someone earlier requested this as a gif, but webm is superior laugh.png

By the way for anyone curious about this girl and why she did a fashion catwalk, it's because she is known as the 'fashion girl' in NMB48. She has a following on the fashion lookbook app 'WEAR': https://wear.net/murasesae/

And she even launched her own little fashion website/webmag and is editor-in-chief: https://www.lightup-mag.tokyo/

The song playing in her self-intro is "Which One" by NMB48's makeshift subunit 'Queentet', which she is a member of. It's kinda catchy.
