Not super unpopular tbh. I agree. But I also make line-ups based on talent + marketability as the criteria, not just talent anyways.
-
Lots of rumors bouncing around about the new broduce tbh. Saw a rumor that Noa was joining too some while back.
-
YES, YES, YES. They need to debut the dream team treasure 7 now tbh. You can't predict what'll happen. Did anyone think Midam was going to leave??? Nope.
-
While it's nice to think that all the younger talented boys will debut together in the future, it's just too hard to predict whether everyone will stay that long. + shit happens. :/ I still really want the Treasure 7 lineup I mentioned a few pages back. They should really make this their strong anchoring group considering Winner is at the age of almost going to the army. And iKON will be a few years after that. This is the perfect time for the company to make this group really blow-up too if they hopefully learned finally to promote better. The last few months of 2018, YG showed that they could pump out comebacks in a timely manner. Hoping this trend continues in 2019.

For me probably Seokhwa, Junkyu, Kotaro (though he's gotten 0 screentime), Yoshi, Jyunhao, Mashi, Yoonbin..... yeah lol don't make me choose.

Came here to post about the photobook. I'm glad we're getting some official physical merch, but I also wish it was a photobook that was included with the album + other goodies.- 4,981 replies

<3 Jyunhao is so good for the amount of training time he's had compared to the others though? I am never worried about less skill unless I think they won't actually be able to keep up. Love him so much.

Ooof. In no particular order. 1. Yedam - Talented, produces songs, good singer/dancer, experienced on stage, likeable, humble, kind, hardworking, etc. For me, he and Mashiho have the perfect "pop" voices, which is the genre I really want from this group. He's clearly respected by everyone on the show, and it's easy to root for him. It is admirable that he is someone who essentially has a "locked-in" spot, and it hasn't made him have a big head + no one dislikes him either. His biggest asset for me is the potential producing skills. 2. Junkyu - Honestly, he really sold me when he sang 'Better' for evals. I think his performance was overshadowed somewhat since Jeongwoo sang Adele, but he did really well with the song and it had an addicting quality. Then there's the obvious upside of him being tall and a visual. He has a great smile + is also pretty lovable. He's the type of member you want in the group as a stan attractor. And I can see him getting lots of endorsements or modeling gigs. One half of the Mashikyu~ ship. 3. Mashiho - I think he has one of the best stage presences out of everyone on the show tbh. He looks at ease on stage and sooooo natural. And like I mentioned, he has a perfect pop voice. I was very excited about the flip and was sad he didn't get to do it on stage. He clearly cares a lot about bringing his A-game, and he's a great visual too. Very Japanese flower boy type, which would be a good addition to the group. He can help attract more Japanese fans. + the other half of the Mashikyu~ ship, which imo is important. Some people may find shipping to be delusional or stupid, but it's undeniably a part of kpop culture. And they are a strong visual ship which will help pull in more fan interest. 4. Haruto - Has good stage presence and okay rapping. He has a lot of star power, so I want him in the group. Clearly a visual and a huge stan attractor. Has model-like looks similar to Junkyu and offers that to the group. Half of the Hajeongwoo~ ship, which could become like THE ship of the new gen idols tbh. They are an extraordinarily power duo visually, and it helps that they're the same age too. Kpop fans love that. Not to mention he's a rapper and Jeongwoo is a vocal, and I could see them being a unit and releasing songs together later on. 5. Jeongwoo - Has an amazing voice. He sounds so great on stage, I swear. He's one of the ones along with Mashiho that have continuously impressed me at every turn to be honest. He's a cutie too, and that would bring in a lot of noona fans tbh. The other half of the Hajeongwoo~ ship. 6. Yoonbin - He's the hot rapper you want in a YG group. The one that gives off the vibe that he could go on SMTM and actually put a dent in the competition. Attractive, writes his own raps (anticipating that he will have to help Haruto with his for a while), and performs very, very well on stage. Also, he's been taking other trainees under his wing, and that has been endearing to see. I think Haruto mentioned being thankful to him in their Christmas vids. I would actually love to see him on SMTM lowkey just to see how he'd fare tbh. 7. Jyunhao - Ooof, that smile. That smile which has the power to make others instantly smile. You can't teach that, can't buy it, can't replicate it. He's a bright ray of sunshine, super hardworking, and it clearly willing to stretch himself to the limit. He had the balls to challenge Yedam knowing he'd probably lose, and HE DID IT ANYWAY. I was in love with his duet stage with Yedam. He has a pretty good voice and can keep up with choreo. And he would be an asset to bringing in the Taiwanese/Chinese fan market.

This would be good. Come on YG, pls.

Not sure I ever posted my ideal TOP 7: Junkyu Yedam Mashiho Haruto Jeongwoo Yoonbin Jyunhao :/ I'm still holding on to the pipe dream that YG will see Jyunhao as a valuable asset for market reasons and bring him back. Also....does anyone find it funny that a lot of people have a very similar to this lineup, and it was practically the original 7 team exactly that YG picked in the first place? >< They should not bend to random audience fan voting and go with what they thought was the best group originally.....
-
Ooof, I have no clue why I forgot about Raesung. I kinda assumed he would be helping with the new group producing-wise. I do think they're going to get into producing more once the group forms, but as of right now, I would be uncomfortable about them not having more guidance. I hope they don't wait too long tbh. And if there's a wait, hopefully they get some sort of tv show to introduce them to the public. Because there are too many groups coming out nowadays. It wouldn't be great if they wait too long and the hype dies down. Yoonbin sounds like a plausible pick but hard to tell. I am praying for YG to bring Jyunhao back. lol Yeah, I mean, right now they're doing a good job if this new bg ends up being more pop/flower boy type. That would differentiate them enough from the other 3 YG BGs. To be honest, I don't know if YG will ever end up having more than 4 active BGs at one time. Not sure it is sustainable for them as a company, but I guess we'll see in the future.

Honestly, it seems like this group is probably going to be managed by Future Bounce. He's been present in the episodes I think (?) and he produced Going Crazy. Yedam's production skills imo aren't up to par yet to actually produce for this group consistently. I'm not sure if you've seen some of the other stuff he's put on Soundcloud, but it's too raw still. They're going to need a lot of help I think. I mentioned this before, but I think Yedam is too soft-hearted to be the leader, and I think they would do well to make someone else leader to take some of the pressure off of him. I'd have to see the final members in the group before even fathoming who I'd want as leader. The only boys that I think have had the more leadership vibes on the show are all boys that I don't think should be in the final group. -shrugs- I don't know. It was an idea pitched on Twitter and has about much credibility as anything else spouted as a rumor.
-
I think someone posted a few pages back that maybe it's push-back from the producers to get a smaller group? And that they might not be too keen on working with a larger group and dealing with line distributions or something. I have no clue though. In this specific situation, it really only makes sense to do a larger group.
-
Agree with the Yoonbin thing. He seems very versatile which is really important for idol groups. Ooof. And I thought I was the only one that noticed that about Junhyuk's View verse. The kid has talent for sure, but I would pick Jongseob over him in a heartbeat if I had to choose a rapper for a group. --- Choosing the concept after the members are finalized makes more sense to me. It feels more natural that way instead of purposely trying to fit members into some mold. It also depends on much YG trusts the members with the creative process too. I highly doubt YG was envisioning where Winner is at today when the group was made. They have clearly had a huge hand in creating their content and image to suit their needs after the fact.

I don't think the main dancer spot is super important to a kpop group tbh. I think it's something nice to have, but I would rather have a better rapper or vocalist than a skilled dancer if it comes down to it. Tbh, kpop dances can be learned, and if whoever makes it can look proficient on stage in formation, it doesn't matter much to me. I actually like both Doyoung/Jihoon's personalities, but they are not skilled enough either rapping or vocally for me to want them over other trainees just to fill a main dancer spot. I think Doyoung could improve and make a good anchor for a future team though. He's only 15 (?), so close in age to the others that I want in a future group (Jongseob/Yeonggue). They both have great personalities though and are very endearing. I would! Honestly, Yedam is a sure member, but I also see him as invaluable to this group. He has skills, stage presence, experience, respect from all the other trainees, has started songwriting/producing, is favored by the public, etc. To top it off, he's just really, really likeable, humble, and kind too. He's the type of idol that everyone likes to root for, and that concept does hold weight with me. The only thing that worries me is that he's clearly soft-hearted. I hope they don't assign him as the leader or something. I think it would be nice if they gave the leader role to someone else so that it would take some of the pressure off of him. Agree with this. Sorry, but someone posted a line-up that was all Team A as the group they wanted without ANYTHING offensive said at all in the post, and got negs a few pages back. That's just out of line and rude AF. Respect works both ways people. And hypocrisy is irritating.

I mean, it's just hard to say. People like CL, Hyorin, Hani blew up in their respective groups. Would they have found the same success if they were at JYP and were put in a group? Uhhh, not necessarily. A company never wants to lose talent obviously but looking at it from a "what could've been" situation is liable to drive people crazy. Talent will always come around again.
-
Well, to be fair, there also isn't a ton to judge right now either. There were so many more performances on Mix Nine compared to on Treasure Box right now. We've gotten to episode 7, and we haven't even seen a legitimate stage from a lot of trainees.
-
I think Hyun Suk has a locked spot too. I'm just sad because he hasn't been impressing me on this show so far. :/ Yeah, Gon seems really nice, but he's really not a good fit.
-
....ah, was worried about this. Live audience voting always worries me. It's always a mess and never works.
-
I don't really think YG has lost out on a ton of trainees though. I mean, I think in the bigger picture, it's really hard to say whether or not companies really "lose out" on trainees so to speak. The problem is there's a timing to these things, and it's hard to keep some really talented trainees around if they don't come at the right time and there isn't a new group in the works. It would be worse to force it in a way and debut trainees just because the company is afraid of them leaving. I mean, I understand the mindset but just from a practical standpoint, sometimes "missing out" on certain trainees is inevitable. I think for Team A, they do see Junkyu as being core to the group in addition to Yedam now. It's hard for me to imagine any line-up that wouldn't include Junkyu at this point.
-
I don't think Jeongwoo is technically in the visual line-up, but he gives off a youthful and fresh feel so maybe that's why people are including him? Like he's obviously a cute kid but I was under the impression that the visual line up was Junkyu, Mashiho, Haruto, etc. Nothing about MixNine is contractual at this point. They basically threw out everything about that show. Honestly, Treasure Box hurts a bit for people who watched Mix Nine. Hyun Suk and Gon were much better on that show than on Treasure Box, whereas it's been vice versa for Junkyu. I'm happy Junkyu grew into himself, but it is sad to see Hyun Suk and Gon as a shell of themselves tbh. I don't really want Gon in this final group, and I'm on the fence about Hyun Suk now (who I was actually really excited about pre-show just from M9 stuff). On the fence about Hyun Suk because I think Yoonbin might fit better in this final group. Honestly, for all the boys that don't make it, I hope YG has thought of options of what to do with them. And hopefully they have an actual plan.
-
This is my prediction too. Hopefully YG sees the light and expands this to a 9-member group.
-
APEWFAIOWEFJPAWJEF I ALWAYS FORGET HE'S OLD(ER). He just looks so little.

I don't think Byonggon or Doyoung have had much more screentime than a lot of other boys tbh. It only seems that way if you're comparing them to the boys that literally have no screentime whatsoever. It's pretty clear that the screentime order is the few boys of each team that are the faves in the team so to speak, and then the rest of the boys in the team are mostly ignored. I'd say anything can happen up until the end of the show. Some people may end up complaining, but they'll get over it just like what happened with Momo.
