What do hip hop suppression means?
There was something about China banning hip-hop from TV because goverment doesn't like general hip-hop culture especially since the Rap of China when some issues poped out [don't remember exacly what it was but one of them was that one rapper critisised goverment or something like that in the past]. At the same time there was also something about banning tatoos from TV [so no actors with visable tatoos in dramas etc] and other things that are associated with hip-hop culture.
And since Xiao Gui took part in program about hip-hop and generally is recognised in hip-hop culture it seems like he is banned from TV, so it can be difficult for top 9 (if he gets into top9) to promote as full group in TV.

yeah cxk, zzt, fcc and justin are called "wang za 4 zhi" aka 4 KINGS in chinese IP fandom. this little group has their own hashtag on weibo (created by fans). basically their main chinese fansites all agreed to vote for Dream and told all their fans to do the same so i'm not surprised they all ended up in one group. they would win the benefit for sure if the 4 are in a team. my guess for the 3 remaining spots for Dream would be ruibin, xing jie, either yanchen or zeren. the rest either volunteer to go out by themselves, get eliminated, or get voted out

Well, even if they are all in one team, the result can be different.
Everyone thought that [in Produce 101] team performing Never would win cause they were top ranked, but there was a plot twist and other team won. But IF they all are gonna be there it would be harder than in Produce, especially if half of the audience are gonna be Lay fans :/
Dang, that's all the popular guys in one team

We can guess that CXK, Justin, ZZT, FCC are probably going to make it, that only leaves 3 spots
One of them can volountairly tell others to 'let him go' if he doesn't feel like he fits the song [ like in first season of Produce 101 (if I remember correctly).] - if they will do voting like in Produce, but I think that won't happen.
wait closing has ended?
isn't that kinda unfair for the the performances who were shown yesterday in the show bcoz they got exposure on the show for just one day compared to the performances who were shown in ep 6 who had a week before the others to bring in some new fans with the performances
is that why iqiyi uploads the individual fancams a week earlier thoxukun zhengting chengcheng and justin in one group??? my biased self is hoping that ruibin or xingjie pulls a woojin
won't the votes be divided tho like what happened with the papillon groupYes, but it is gonna be propably like in produce - they are going to fight as teams - so there will be winning team who gets 'smaller benefit' and the person who got the most of votes in the winning team will get 'bigger benefit' - that's why fans of F4 (can I call them this way? :P I mean CXK, Justin, ZZT and FCC) decided to team and vote together for one song - they would never do something to harm their bias, don't worry. This way they all are gonna benefit (if they win).
-
wait... so people were allowed to vote for more than one person in a group? all this time i thought they could only vote one person per group wow.
Yes. It was mentioned at the beginning of ep 6 and even a lot of people wrote it here, but seems like now they have forgotten,

I'm chinese and from the post, the person who went to the live scene said that, yuehua fans did not make up most of the crowd, it was lay fans. she said everybody is saying yuehua "bao tuan" which means they united to voted for everyone in their company but that's not possible even though she wanted to do that because there were not enough of them at the scene (at least not enough to completely override the other fandoms). 3 zzt fans, 2 justin fans, 2 fcc fans where she was standing. she said they could only scream for justin when xukun fans stopped screaming or else they would be completely covered up. then, she she goes on to say that yuehua kids live scene were all very good and captivated the audience. I saw several fan accounts on weibo that also said this especially for justin, bi wen jun, zzt. keep in mind that the aired footage is different from live stage.
they choose live audience by picking random people off weibo, twitter, facebook. like i know on twitter and weibo fans would have to repost the post from iqiyi in order to be entered in the draw. i heard they also give several tickets to the main fanclubs of every trainee. they never just give out a bunch of tickets to a certain company or fans of a certian trainee. the audience is very diverse and you can definitely see that from the shots that show the audience in ep 7. fcc alone got over half the votes in his entire group. Lay said audience has 1000 people, it's impossible that everyone who voted for him were yuehua fans. overall, people just to need to stop blindly hating on yuehua. the possibility that there were 300+ yuehua fans in the audience of 1000 is highly unlikely. even if people continue to hate, this won't make people who support them to stop supporting them.
Seriously, Yuehua are really popular so actually it was possible for some of them to to take more than 30% of the votes in their stage, if we consider that everyone voted. I mean it's really possible that with their popularity and good skills [and of course we have to admit that live stages are different than what we see in TV - take as the best example the stage of Knock team (Open Up - edm song from concept evaluation) in Produce 101 season 2 - in TV it looked average but people wrote than live stage was really captivating etc] they could gather it - and let's be honest - Justin, ZZT and Zeren (correct me if I'm wrong) were center position in their performances - that's catching a lot of attention.
Also Xiao Gui had about 300 votes (I don't remember exact number), so not that much difference between top-9 contestant in non-death group - by this I mean papilon and other with high-ranked contestants.
PLUS - people were allowed to vote for more than one person in group - making 300+ votes just look stupid. If you add all votes in group that would propably make number between 500 and 1500 - that means that half of the audience didn't vote (like in groups with really lower-ranked trainees) and in those with high competition maybe half of people voted more than once - if we assume that in papillon at least some people voted more than once and they had all around 1000 votes with all contestants being in top9 that would still mean some people didn't vote.
When we will have eng subs to ep 7 I can even calculate exact numbers and post it here to back up my theory.
Oh, gosh, this is somehow even bigger mess than Produce 101 :P

I can't agree with this at all. I support the idea that YH boys shouldn't be attacked for their rankings; they didn't force or coerce anyone into voting for them & it's not their fault what their fandom does. However to say that the fandom practiced fair behavior and are not at fault for the distorted/biased rankings is just not true. It wasn't fair and it works to nullify the hard work these boys put into their stage (including YH boys) because their rankings are predisposed due to fan influence. In fact, this behavior seems to have hurt YH boys more than anyone else because they're being targeted/hated for this mess.
Of course, as a fandom you'll want the best for your biases. However this is a survival show first and foremost, and hence is inherently about providing an equal platform to judge trainees on. When rumors of unfair practice circulate (ala Nongie & company), it will cause a shit-storm in the survival show world because such practice (whether true or not) works actively to harm the position of other trainees; hence the backlash. This entire situation is extremely unfortunate because YH boys didn't even need the rankings boost; those placed in 30 and under would have truly benefited from this. Not only that, but this has garnered a shit ton of hate for YH boys which isn't fair on them.
I really hope other fandoms don't learn from such behaviour and start co-ordinating their votes (on such a scale) as well. This week's live-vote has been exploited by popularity, and I don't want to see the less popular trainees be put on the back burner in future episodes as bigger fandoms fight it out.
Well, I'm not saying that the ranking isn't biased. Just that it's good strategy to win live for your faves. And they have advantage that they have quite big fandom. In short-term run that was smart and effective move. In long term quite risky cause it made people quite angry at yuehua.
But I'll say one thing: life is cruel. It's TV show so it's gonna be cruel, too. They might be disappointed about biased ranks (really biased, but well...), but if you have to jugde two performances, it's almost impossible to not be biased. Take f.e. Show Me The Money 4 the final. But well, that's how it's always gonna be.

What if 3 Yuehua trainees will enter the final 9? Will they wait for them before they debut their own group?
Sent from my A1601 using OneHallyu mobile app
I think that's how it will be.
Or others might do some other activities while waiting for them.

i'm curious about who everyone is going to pick when it comes time where you can only pick one person?
i'm stuck between cxk and zzt
I'm glad that I don't vote so I don't have this dilema :D But if I did, then it would be ZZT. Sorry to Ziyi, CXK and BuFan, but he is one of the reasons I started watching this show :P
some of my thoughts: i haven't watched the full ep yet but i checked weibo and the hate for yuehua is everywhere. even till now they're still trending on the top search. i agree that some of them shouldn't have gotten first place in their groups or overall but it's definitely not rigged. it was pretty much given fcc would get the highest votes since he was the only popular member in his group. people may think there were alot of yuehua stans in the audience but actually people who went to the live said lay fans were the most. criticisms are fine but personal attacks on the yuehua trainees are uncalled for, especially since most of them are still kids like Justin who just barely turned 16. people do really go out of their way to hate on someone when they don't like them. at the end of the day, no result can satisfy everyone. of course, those who like them will keep on supporting them.
I don't understand those people and I think that some of them might be angry because their bias didn't win, so they decided to throw trash on FCC which is stupid, because it's not his fault. It's also not the YueHua fan's fault that they won their competitions - no one forbid other trainees' fans to buy the tickets for lives, so they could buy one and vote in live competition. I think those people are also angry, because generally yuehua is popular in this show, but also their fans are having really good team work - I think that people who went there to vote for (f.e.) Justin in other groups voted for other yuehua trainees.
Btw, just imagine if CXK joins yuehua (there are some rumors, not sure if true) - he would be wall over the wall :P
YH fans are working overtime to calm the public storm on Douban, Tieba, and Weibo after FCC > Xiao Gui.
Is it still bad?
I think that it's just stupid. This competition isn't only 'who-did-better' type.
I really appreaciate and admire those fans. As I said they have really good teamwork.

I feel this too? The live voting isn't based on behind the scenes coverage of trainees personality, efforts or interactions. It's purely performance. In that sense, his personality has little to do with his rankings, and whilst I enjoyed his performance I wouldn't say it was spectacular enough for #1 (it was good for general top9). Hence, it wouldn't be wrong to assume other influences such as hard stans, or his really popular sister would play into these votes.
Looking at the top9 for live, it's obv a good section of the audience were hard YH stans so their votes paired with his sisters influence certainly made his ranking (as opposed to pure performance). These are just my thoughts.
Also these votes are really insignificant for top ranking trainees. Its meant more as a boost for trainees with less votes (if even that when you consider China's HUGE population). Cai xukun is definitely safe don't you worry. Hopefully his court case goes as well as possible.
I'm going to assume this was targeted at me, so I'll respond in respect to that. Idk where you get 'butthurt' from when all I was doing was forwarding the discussion? As much as you have a right to criticize him, I have a right to criticize your/other peoples opinion. Its how free speech and discussions work. Also as much as I love Bufan, my mans been performing pretty poorly in comparison to his ranking but he isn't as criticized in this thread. Its obvious Yanlei is only used in these 'discussions' as a tool to propagate other people's faves, and that's what I was referring to (which seems to have passed you completely despite being the first sentence of my argument?). His abilities aren't objectively discussed, and if they were I wouldn't find the responses so hypocritical.
Also just a heads up if you're posting a comment on a site, then expect responses which don't agree with you. This is a discussion forum; not everyone will agree with your opinion.
I also think Xukun is safe.
But I would argue a bit with the live voting being based on pure performance - the popularity and your opponents really matter.
I kinda feel like Xukun will get Jonghyun-ed, where people won’t vote for him bc they think that he’s safe
I don't think it will be Xukun. I think that it depends on if they will do the same thing as in produce finals - showing the few ranks but not the hole ranking. If they do it, then someone may be Jonghyuned, and it might be someone from YueHua since they have a lot of fans who are stanning all yuehua trainees.
I think XuKun had really big fanbase before joining the program and I don't think they will stop voting for him to vote for others trainees.
If you watched produce 101 I think he is more like Kang Daniel - not lucky in live stages (till Open Up performance where he slayed).
And gosh, I hope that something happens and we will have more vocals in top9. I mean out of 4 people that I stan 3 are rappers, and I personally enjoy watching contestant who are rappers (cause they are supper funny and not only) but seriously top 9 NEEDS VOCALS!
Also can't wait for concept stages.
-
I personally will always prefer Jackson's live stage lol I think the most entertaining to watch was his HK live since the audience were like piranhas whenever he jumps towards them. Although I didn't really expect the group to do that cause you know that's dangerous. We don't need more injuries. I was kinda hoping that they'd insert small moments where they make the audience shout a part of the lyrics.
They still did good in the end though.
I agree that Xukun did not make the wrong decision but he was just put in a team with strong contestants. I said this before, Papillon was good choice since it's popular but it's gonna tough be since he has to fight the other members in the group.
Wishful thinking but I want the company to just drop this mess and let Xukun go but we all know that's not gonna happen.......
Since he's already scheduled to go to court that must mean he has his attorney right?
Well, company smells money so they won't give up easily :P cause in case he has a contract with them and he debut with top9 he would have to share money with this company and since he wanted to terminate it they want the money included in termination clauses. But I think that he has a chance to win this since there were some sh*** things going with this company before he left (there were some posts about company not paying them or something like that - don't remember it).
I think that in case like this attorney is quite important and he has to focus on show so it would be stupid if he doesn't.
-
xukun is held back by his terrible decision making skills
this time it was not decision making skills. He coudn't foresee that his group is gonna be death-group - I mean they had really high ranking contestant in their group, so it was hard to win the audience.
This show really knew many people were waiting for Papillon perf so they show it at the end lol
Kinda low-key disappointed they didn't do the crazy stuff Jackson does whenever he performs Papillon live. It would've been interesting to see them interact with the audience while performing. Only just a bit though, they still did amazing. Very deserving of the hype before their performance was even aired.
Justin was struggling at the start but bro Ziyi was there to help. That was really cute. I like how this show always emphasize how everyone is friendly with each other. Also the YH trainees reaction to Justin was nice to see. We love a supportive family

ok that mystery box thing is funny but I can't shake feeling reeeaaalllly bad for the little pig

actually I liked their version better. Maybe because I haven't seen Jackson live version
Eh, may I know why?
to have not so friendly encounter with his ex-company (the one from SWIN-S) and contract saying he has to pay incredible amount of money. I think there is even a separate discusion about it.

We will get new content to watch tomorrow [for some people it will be today]!
Who can't wait to see it?

Cheng Xiao doesn't get enough screen-time though

I'm glad that she doesn't. This show isn't to promote her, but trainees/contestants of the show. Unless she gives those boys envelopes with money (like Lay) or she is shown teaching them etc, they shouldn't show her unless it's connected with a contestant/something important in the show. The same goes for other teachers/mentors/however you call them.
Her role is not like Lay, who 'get's the screentime' because he is representative of people and I would say the main host of the show.

I swear, if Xukun is forced to leave Idol Producer I'm going to flip a table
I don't think that's going to happen (if we are talking about the issue with his previous company).
-
Cai XuKun - I actually thought that something like this could happen since I knew that he had contract with SWIN-S but there was no info about group disbanding/what's going on.
I hope it'll be gone soon, because (if he happen to be a part of debuting 9, which is highly propable) no one want's his former company to interfere with his future activities.
If he sign with another company... well, if he get the proposition from Yuehua that would be quite good for both sides - I mean, if YH thinks of creating serious boy group in China and investing big money, CXK would be good investition. And if other boys in IP would be part of this group they would be popular, so it wouldn't be one person carrying group. But on the other hand he gives me impression of solo artist. But who knows. it's also possible to do both things, so maybe...
-
Okay, that would mean that in nr 4 we have Wang Ziyi, Kunkun, Justin, ZZT, FCC, Zhu Xingjie and Ruibin (?).
Strong lineup.
I don't think that's everyone because I haven't found few high-ranked contestants. Maybe it's like who where has the most votes right now, or they did something like in produce 101 (fistly locate everyone in song, and then after elimination relocate).
-
I don't think elimination will be in ep 7, because it'd be unfair for those who's stages weren't shown in ep 6. I think in ep 7 there would be shown the rest of stages and elimination will be in 8th episode.

After watching ep 6 with subs, I still find ZZT naming FanBingBing the actress he would like to be casted with in one movie as the main point in this episode. That was epic.
I live for it.

question about the sheep dance team - I'm just watching some fan cams and it came to my mind... did they record their voices? because it sometimes sounds a bit different than oryginal version (I mean the voice), but I'm not big Lay fan, so I can't say that for sure :/
-
I finally got around to watching Artist and wow... Xiao Gui's rap solo at 2:38 was riveting.
So far, I don't know the actual results, but assuming team wins are within categories, I'm going to hazard a guess that Nunchucks will win Dance, Reminiscing will win voice (might be Very Good too), and Artist will win rap (might be Papillon due to that teams sheer star power).
I think Artist won't win since there will be one person winning in rap cathegory, so only his indyvidual votes will count, and I think it will be FCC in Very Good, because he is public friendly, the song was 'let's cry'-type and his team mates are lower-ranks so he has a chance. Papillon had all popular boys, so votes were propably divided kind-of-equally, the same for Artist.
As for dance and vocal I have no idea.
-
Iirc it’s 50,000 votes and 100,000 votes but yeah the rest is right
Thanks :D that would make sense since China is much bigger than Korea and they allow foreigners to vote.
-
I don't speak chinese, so correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm assuming this after watching Produce - the winner in each performing group gets 5 000 votes and if he wins in category then he gets 10 000 more?
-
What's the controversial thing about his statement, the "slimmer" part? Personally as a woman, I don't find it offensive. People are saying that it's because lots of girls struggle with their weight but by that logic, lots of guys have low self-confidence with his body too (and especially with the height, which he's emphasizing here too).
Well, controversial are comments on youtube done by (propably) western people or just people who are used to wester culture. They're claiming that this can be watched by person who has anorexia/etc. I don't see it controversial, too I just think that people don't get the fact that in China/Korea/propably many other countries being thin is considered beautiful and phychological disorders are taboo - or just I should say they don't exist. So he is just wishing girls to be beautiful in typical Chinese way, what's wrong about it? it's not like he said 'go on diet' to his fans -.-

Serious question... Or Not. Lol is Bu Fan wearing a mesh shirt for the papilion performance? Did he borrow it from CXK? XD
I had the same thought. Not only shirt but also the jacket reminded me about Kunkun :P
I hate to say this, but I am honestly hoping none of them make it to top 9 just so they can stay together. Thanks to their company's guerilla marketing, they've already amassed quite a fanbase, I think Chinese fans of this group have named themselves Qin's Women. Their company is poor compared the other companies and they are called the slum boy group

I really want this slum boy group to rise on their own.
I really enjoyed those videos and it makes me kind of reminded how BigHit promoted BTS at the begining of their cariers (I'm not an Army, so I might be wrong). Hope they'll hit big in the future.
But maybe if one of them makes it into final round it'll be good, cause company will have money :/
Also like the hole concept with Qin :D
Can I sinfully admit this too.
I know I'm an evil mom fan, but these boys should be together in their rise to world domination. Also those names are HILARIOUS: Slum boy group + Qins women. I'm actually dead. The stans are as crazy as Bufan. No wonder he's doing so well

Also 2.0 I can't believe the boy's group name comes from the Qins dynasty reign. Our Aunty at Qins ent is a total smart arse okay.
mee too :D
And ZZT is a savage
Yeah, this guy knows how to make show more entertaining.

[iQIYI Show] Idol Producer Official Thread
in Variety Shows
Posted
It depends if this song will suit him like Open to Daniel. Because Daniel wasn't as popular at that time when he won. It was not only his popularity but also how he suited the song. If he was in Never he would propably get around half of the votes he got (since he doesn't really suit Never concept - my opinion when watching Never 11 people performance).
But on the other hand CXK is way more popular than any boy in produce 101 (if we're just talking about populatiry within the people watching this program, because globaly korean entertainment is propably more popular than chinese) - he is like center guy+wink boy+kang daniel+all nu'est members+long hair fairy at once.
in Produce season 2 there was voting but before voting Alpaca guy (don't remember his name) told others to not vote for him because he doesn't 'feel the concept' or something like that [and I think if he hadn't said that he would have stayed with Never team since that was the time when he was even in top 11 if I remember corectly] and he ended up with Open team with Daniel, so I think that's what happened with CXK. If CXK left because he felt this way maybe that's better for him, though I doubt CXK taste and logic - I think his autition was good but didn't match my taste, but after he has chosen PPAP in group battles I knew that's not just difference between me and him - it's just something wrong with his way of thinking if he thought that PPAP can be good song in different arrangement or remixed.
If all rumored YH stay together I'm looking forward to their performance since they are from one company so they should have amazing chemistry and I hope the rest will bond with them well.
