  1. Something like. It's not for any major designing companies or anything as far as I'm aware, but it sure did feel like it at the time. Really overwhelming honestly! I can't imagine how real models must feel especially with the stress of maintaining a figure...

It really did feel strange. Even after they were done, I was skeptical if I actually liked the way it looked. I'm not used to wearing so much make-up! I prefer just a touch here and there, but they told me they needed to balance at the lighting and some other convincing stuff so I just took their word for it.

It rings true as far as I'm concerned. I've been maid of honor at a few lavish weddings and having my makeup done as opposed to doing it myself has made a big difference in terms of shooting portraits. But still, I try not to use a lot even when going out, so I end up having this identity crisis when my face is all painted. lol

I'm sure you have a kickass profile picture now. Glad to know you had a good time.

  2. Thank you!

And no they had a make-up artist and hair stylists and everything!  Closest I'll probably ever get to an actual photoshoot lol

So was this actually the model gig? Awesome that you got the experience if it's true.

When someone else does your makeup it tends to feel strange to see how you turn out even if you look great. I know that feel.

  3. My proofs from the photoshoot today are back! My goodness did it feel weird wearing so much make-up, but the pics came out really well!  :ahmagah:

Sorry for always bragging her, but look look look:

The lighting and scenery look wonderful, and of course so do you ^^ The second one was my fave. Props to looking so flawless.

Did you do your hair and makeup or was it someone else?

    pretty! I like your pout.

  4. Started 1976 :derp: Almost 4 decades now. :imstupid: Just did a wiki and it had a 2 yr hiatus at volume 42? In 2008, the author decided to finish it so yeah no it's 49 volumes.

It's still consistently being updated monthly right? I just forgot exactly where I stopped so now I have to probably start from when Kyoko was asked to act as Ren's sis for the drama.

    OT

I loved tokyo crazy paradise so much...

The Cain Siblings ark is finished now. It's pretty entertaining if you read it all together.

(And oh my god, that is insane. Older than the Hallyu lol. I agree about Tolyo Crazy Paradise. Good stuff. )

  5. true, and the art has gotten a lot better imo.

Haha that's what I think. I couldn't stand seeing all of their facial features squished into one place and Ren's shoulders and hands being so abnormally large lol

  6. yeah. I'm not sure if this is just me but have you noticed a change in dialogue and how they speak?

Not just that. There's a significant change in the art style as well. I started to think maybe it's just the characters maturing?

But at the same time, any series that goes on for years is bound to be different from its roots.

  7. I was but I haven't been updated for probably at least 2-3 yrs now?

    Should I continue reading?

I think I stopped when Kyoko was acting as a lil sis for Ren's character? I remember vaguely the part where Ren was shocked when he was shooting a car scene... Those were one of the last chapters I read. idk how many chapters behind I am tho.

LOL I read Glass Mask manga for like 30+ volumes up until the last updated scanlation a few years ago and I think that manga hasn't finished yet based on a quick research I just did. :imstupid: It seems like it's at 49 volumes now. OTL

How old is glass mask? Jesus christ, I thought they stopped publication altogether without finishing it.

I think it's worth catching up on Skip Beat. Even though I'm not nearly as emotionally invested in as before, it doesn't hurt to go through a few chapters every few months since the characters are still pretty compelling and dimensional. The plot isn't much of a roller coaster, but the progress is still there which is satisfying enough if you're willing to go steady.

I kinda wish the anime was renewed for a second season. Maybe it will encourage the series to pick up the pace.

  8. As well as they are introduced to help out s-oke in a pinch.

They def are not the same character; but it's obvious that our cellist is a revamped, modified edition of the oboe player from the J-version. At least that's how I see it.

    interesting, interesting

there was an oboe guy in the manga too, right? He took part in Chiaki's second orchestra and showed mild interest in Nodame until he realized she wasn't "wife material" or something like that, but he doesn't sound nearly as involved as the oboe guy in the J-drama.

Anyway, it's K-drama standard to have a prominent romantic "rival" or two that string along right until the end. I wonder why that is?

  9. Hey guys

    I was browsing this thread

I'm on a mobile device. I refreshed the page and suddenly it looks like I downvoted a bunch of the posts? Does anyone know if this is a common issue?

Actually I checked again and the ratings changed so I'm not sure. But it indicates that I've rated some of the posts when I did not click on the + or - button.

  10. Happy Halloween!

Posting because someone persuaded me to do so.

    Now it's your turn, Lily.

your censor matches your dress ~

where did you get the costume though? you look great in it

  11. It's harsh, though right to make fat people feel like they need to change.

There's a difference between being disapproving of an unhealthy lifestyle and denying someone respect because they are chubs. (keyword: respect; it's not a crime to have a preference in terms of attraction if you can respect people who don't fall into that category)

I have a dear cousin who's a toothpick but he's dealing with a high risk for heart disease at 24 because he treats his body like shit. He looks completely "normal" on the outside so no one bats an eye.

  12. I took this picture a day or two ago and normally I look hella bad when I take pics like this, but I'm so proud of this one so please allow me to brag:

Finally, someone can admit that they like their own picture. This is a really nice portrait.  :)

  13. I never really post on OH in general anymore, but it's Halloween.

    I'm a serial killer.
